We recently completed a major pool and backyard project with Coral Pool Company, and I could not be happier with both the experience and the finished product. Before selecting Coral Pools, I interviewed several pool contractors, including some of the biggest names in South Florida. What ultimately stood out about Coral was the opportunity to work directly with Michael, the owner and pool builder, throughout the entire process. That personal involvement made a tremendous difference. Michael was extremely responsive from the beginning and was always available when I had a question or wanted to reconsider some aspect of the design. We went through numerous renderings as we worked to perfect the pool, and he was incredibly patient throughout that process. He also provided valuable guidance on many of the details that ultimately made the finished pool special — the size and design of the spa, swim-out, pool lighting and the direction of the lights, equipment selections, and the placement and selection of the fire/water bowls. I had a very specific vision for the project, and Michael was willing to keep working through the details with me until we got it right. Jairo, Coral's project manager, was also excellent. He was on site frequently and met with and coordinated the various trades throughout construction. One thing that impressed me was the quality and professionalism of Coral's subcontractors. The crews doing the piles, shell, plumbing, pavers, electrical and other work clearly had longstanding relationships with Coral Pools. They knew what they were doing, worked well together, and the quality of the work reflected that experience. Our project was considerably more complicated than a typical new pool. Coral first had to demolish and completely remove our existing pool, and access to the backyard was extremely difficult — in places there was less than five feet of clearance along the side of the house. They then built an entirely new pool and spa with extensive glass tile, lighting, water and fire features and a number of other custom details. Coral also took responsibility for portions of the overall backyard project that many of the other pool contractors I interviewed would not handle, including the electrical work and roof drainage work. Having one company coordinate so much of the project was a major advantage. Just as importantly, the project came in on budget without hidden surprises, and the work stayed on schedule. Anyone who has undertaken a major construction project in South Florida knows how meaningful both of those things are. The finished pool exceeded our expectations. It is exactly what we envisioned when we started the design process, and the workmanship is evident both during the day and at night. Michael, Jairo and the entire Coral Pools team did an outstanding job. I would absolutely use them again and would highly recommend Coral Pool Company to anyone considering a new pool or a complicated pool and backyard renovation.
