We had an outstanding experience with Griffin Pools from beginning to end! From the very first consultation to the final completion of our cement pool, everything was handled with professionalism, care, and attention to detail. The entire team worked incredibly hard, and it truly shows in the final result. Communication was excellent every step of the way — we were always informed on progress and what to expect next. The crew was reliable, respectful, and extremely skilled, and it was clear they took pride in their work. A special thank you to Larry, the owner, who personally made sure everything was installed properly and fixed any issues promptly. Rick was wonderful from the very beginning, helping us through the paperwork and continuing to check in to ensure everything was looking great. A big thank you to Michelle and Casey for their constant updates and emails — their communication made the entire process smooth and stress-free and of course Free, who walked us through how to navigate and operate the pool system and made sure we felt confident using it, Our pool came out absolutely amazing, and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome. We are beyond pleased and truly grateful for such a great experience. We highly recommend Griffin Pools to anyone looking for quality workmanship and top-tier service!

Best decision! The process was quick, smooth and un-stressful. I did my research before selecting a pool company as I was hesitant because of all the scams and horror story's that you hear. They proved to be trust worthy and professional. I cant speak enough of how courteous and professional the whole Griffin team is. My sales manager Charlie was professional, knowledgeable and always quick to respond on the thousand of questions I had. She was very patient with me. The office staff Tabitha & Owner Michelle always kept me updated on the process and always followed up quickly. Larry who is the owner was also available to me and personally followed up on my concerns and oversaw the project weekly. He is respectful and knows his business. He went above and beyond on manufacture issue that I had and resolved it quickly . His main concern was for us to be Happy with the finished product as he takes pride in his work & it shows. We love our pool. This is an amazing company & overall great people.

My experience with Griffin Pools was fantastic from start to finish. My first meeting with the sales rep at my home was professional and informative. There was no pressure to sign a contract right away and I did not feel like any unnecessary upgrades were pushed on me. When I went to sign my contract I received outstanding service. I was further at the many choices I had for what I considered to be a basic pool package. I was kept up to date on the progression of the work and informed on what days the work would be performed. All of sub contractors were very respectful of my home and property. Anytime I had a question or a concern it was addressed immediately and most of all the job was started on the date I was given and completed in a timely manner. I would recommend Griffin Pools to anyone who is going to have one installed at their home. They are a fantastic company, who provides outstanding service.

Griffin Pools made our pool-dreams come true, and I can't say enough good things about our experience with them! They were able to develop a pool design that catered both our very specific desires (we wanted to be able to swim laps!) and the limited land we had to work with, and the end result is more perfect than we could have anticipated. Pool construction is a LENGTHY process, but the completion estimate they gave us at the very start was dead accurate, and everyone at Griffin kept us updated on their progress along the way. And we love that they even have 'pool school' at the end to walk you through maintenance! Such a great company to work with, extremely professional, friendly, and caring!

I called them out (Rick showed up) to give me a quote to re-do my pool deck and put an enclosure around my pool. My pool is HUGE and sits higher than my house. I also had a section of my walk way leading to the house that has a big gap between the two pieces of side walk. His suggestion was to put a seat wall there. So, when you come out of my side screened door (large screen patio on back of house) you would have approximately 17 inches of space before you are against the seat wall and less than that to get around the corner of the back patio. Not to mention that seat wall would have run all they way up to the middle of the AC unit. I said no and explained these reasons as why. I also asked him about screening it in by attaching the pool enclosure to the existing patio. He told me they couldn't because the pool was higher than the house. So, his solution was to have the pool enclosure a stand alone structure. That would mean I walk out of the door on the back patio, walk 3 feet, go up 2 steps and walk into the door of the pool enclosure (close your eyes and picture that nonsense). I asked questions, but he constantly talked over me, and I mean constantly. He then asked me to guess how much the screened enclosure was going to cost. I said I had no idea. He asked me 3 more times to guess and I kept saying no idea (because no one in their right mind just gives you a number when asking for a quote). He then tells me I have to guess because he, and I quote, doesn't want to have to sit at a computer coming up with pricing for me to tell him no and that is too much and he has to keep re-doing it. This went on for a few more minutes and then he finally moved on and told me he would have to get Larry (I believe that was the name) his concrete guy to come out and look at the sidewalk area. I never heard from Larry at all and never heard from Rick with a estimate or request for more info to complete the estimate. Fortunately, I had lined up 3 companies to come out and give me quotes. The second one comes out and I told him everything Rick said, and he kind of snickered and said none of what I was wanting was an issue. He went over the pool deck area, the solution to the drainage (pool higher than house), and the solution to the side walk gap. He said he would send his screen guy out to look at how to attach the pool enclosure to the existing patio. The screen guy showed up the next day. I told him what Griffin Pools said about the house being lower and therefore a pool enclosure couldn't be attached. He outright laughed and showed me 5 pictures of how that is handled and said it was no big deal it is done all the time. They had a quote to me within the week and plans with engineering seal within 3 weeks. I guess Griffin Pools makes so much money on their pools that an $80,000.00 job was not worth their time. I would recommend you shop it around before going with this company.

Griffin Pools installed our pool while we were building our home with Highland Homes three years ago in Lakeland. We were told they waterproofed the back of the retaining wall and put a drain below ground behind the retaining wall. Three years later we are paying thousands of dollars to have the wall waterproofed and a drain put in because Griffin Pools didn't do either of those. We also are having the drain they put in in the pool deck fixed because it went out two feet from the wall and stopped. It was draining to nowhere. I am adding to this review to respond to the owner's response to my review. I have asked the company who waterproofed the wall & installed drains behind the wall to send me pictures which i will forward to you. They took before & after pictures. I can assure you that there was only one drain put on our pool deck. I will forward a picture of that also. We were having issues with the side yards not drying out after Hurricane Debby, so we had the company that was going to put a drainage system in the side yards check behind the wall because water was coming under the wall and our pool was filling up even when it wasn't raining. They found no waterproofing on the wall & no drain installed behind the wall. I uploaded photos. The first photos show there is no waterproofing on the wall or a drain behind the wall. The next photo shows the pipe coming from the 1 drain Griffin pool put on our pool deck. It went nowhere causing water to back up onto our deck after the hurricane in 2022. The last photos are from Dec 2021 & Jan 2022 of our pool deck that I did send to Griffin Pools & nothing was done. The photos show there is only 1 drain on our pool deck.

Company Snapshot

Griffin Pools is based in Lakeland and has held Certified Pool/Spa Contractor license CPC1459778 since 2022, confirmed active and current on the Florida DBPR under qualifier Andrew Lawrence Bosse Jr.

Specialties & Service Area

This is one of the higher-volume builders in this dataset by permit count: a documented set of permits spread across Polk County and its surrounding jurisdictions, with the heaviest concentration in Lakeland itself, followed by Mulberry, Winter Haven, Auburndale, and Haines City. The vast majority — 182 of 200 — are tagged directly as pool-construction permits rather than incidental trade work. The footprint also extends into Hillsborough and Manatee counties, with smaller numbers of permits in Riverview, Parrish, Dover, and Lithia.

What Customers Say

At 4.1 stars across 131 reviews, feedback is mixed rather than uniform. Positive reviews are detailed and name-specific — one homeowner credited owner Larry for personally overseeing installation quality and thanked several named staff members by role, from paperwork support through a final walkthrough on operating the pool's equipment, calling the overall experience smooth and stress-free. Set against that, delays and stalled communication are the most recurring complaint theme, raised by multiple separate reviewers, and one detailed complaint describes a frustrating sales consultation in which the prospective customer says they were repeatedly pressured to guess at pricing before ever receiving a quote, and never heard back with an estimate at all.
