I highly recommend Doug and the team at A Plus Pool Design. I had some really bad staining on my pool walls, and they were able to completely restore them to a bright white. I was particularly impressed that they managed to get these results without etching the surface, which is a huge deal since it avoids shortening the life of the pool finish. They also replaced three of my burned-out LEDs while they were at it. The pool looks fantastic again—honestly, it looks just like it did when it was first built. If you need professional pool restoration or equipment repairs, these are the people to call.
Great company to work with!! If you're going with a custom pool they are top notch!!!
Incredible service and results! At projects end, it surpassed my expectations! Doug and his team did an incredible job of renovating my pool area. Honestly looks like a whole new back yard. Doug was prompt to respond and answer all of my questions and concerns about a pool renovation project. It shows that A+ Pool Design prides themselves on a job well done. If you’re thinking about a pool renovation I say hit go with A+, you won’t be disappointed. And maybe like me, Doug’s vision and work will exceed your expectations. Looking forward to many days and nights enjoying my pool and new patio oasis. Thanks again, Doug!
Out of all the Google reviews I’ve given companies over the years, only 3 have gotten 1 star reviews and this is one of them. — check my history — but this experience warrants one. We hired this company in February for a full pool resurface, retile, and paver deck. It’s now July, and we still don’t have a finished product. Over $30,000 spent. The core issue: punch-list items from the final walkthrough were never actually completed. When I asked the owner to come verify the work himself, his emailed response was a flat refusal. That’s right, he will not verify or inspect the finished product. He has not responded since. Had he taken ten minutes to look at his crew’s work, he would have seen the items weren’t finished. Photos attached. Communication throughout was poor. The owner seemed disconnected from what his own workers were doing on site. One of the main reasons we chose this company was the owner’s promise to service the pool after the work was done. Once the resurface was complete, he suddenly couldn’t fit us in. We were left scrambling to find someone else to care for a freshly resurfaced pool — the photos show the condition it was left in. When my wife flagged unfinished pavers, the owner accused her of marking more than were originally identified, which is funny because the people he has doing the pavers are the ones who marked them and then lied to him about the completion of the work. What really scares me about the paver situation? Is that even the workers that installed the pavers knew that there were defects in these pavers that were gonna get worse overtime and that pieces of iron that are lodged in them that will rust overtime and get bigger. At first, they glossed over them until we pointed them out. So somebody who’s unsuspecting would’ve ran into a pretty big issue in a couple years or within one year really. We still have two pavers left to get replaced and the surface of the pool should look spotless on delivery and if he does deliver on what was promised I will consider modifying this review. If you pay a company over $30k to resurface, retile, and rebuild your entire deck, you should end up with a finished, picture-perfect pool. We didn’t. I cannot recommend this company. We’ve hired Iron Pool to help us get this thing looking better after what A plus left us with and it’s coming along but we haven’t been able to swim in the pool yet. Buyer beware. Not only has he not responded to my emails. He also blocked my number from being able to call the company to get answers. When he accused my wife of marking more pavers, I told him his own people are the ones who marked the pavers and he got loud with me on the phone. I have two witnesses that were in the car. I told him not to accuse my wife and started raising my voice as well. I’m not gonna let somebody talk down to my wife. So be prepared because this guy wants to be able to talk to you, however he wants without you opening up your mouth.
Very disappointing experience. The work was not performed as promised, and once issues were raised there was zero customer centricity. Despite no signed contract, we were threatened with a lien just one day after receiving the invoice, while legitimate concerns were still being discussed. The situation felt uncomfortable and raised serious red flags. Would not recommend. Thank you for your response. For clarity, our review is solely based on the customer experience after concerns were raised following completion of the job, not on the quality of the resurfacing work itself. At this time, we are not in a position to evaluate the long-term quality of the work, which is why our review did not comment on workmanship. The written email referenced prior to the job listed only “pool resurfacing” with a price, without further detail or scope definition. It was verbally communicated to us that resurfacing included tile grouting, which is why the question arose after completion. When we inquired about this, it was denied, highlighting the lack of clarity in what was — and was not — included. We also want to note that we clearly communicated that we were not physically present and were attempting to resolve questions and concerns from afar, relying on photos and a property manager. That context did not feel meaningfully considered in the communication we received. The immediate escalation to references of a lien process while clarification was still being sought felt unnecessary and, from our perspective, came across as a threat rather than a constructive step toward resolution. We are not disputing that emails can constitute agreements, nor are we alleging poor workmanship. Our intent is simply to share our experience and recommend that future customers ensure all scope details are explicitly documented in writing upfront, particularly when work is being managed remotely. We appreciate the response and wish the company well going forward.
