I was so overwhelmed when it came time to build my pool. There were so many different companies and opinions and decisions to be made. After I met with Colton at Hang 10 pools I stopped searching. From beginning to end the whole team was outstanding. From the lady in the office to the plumbers they all were so nice and respectful and actually very tidy on the job site. I loved them so much now my sister is using them to remodel her pool. I promise you won’t regret calling them! Thank you Hang 10 Pools!!
Look at the photos, videos and text messages in this review. This is not an isolated incident, more than 5 other clients have reached out to me with similar to worse experiences. Regrettably, this company validates every homeowner's most significant concern with pool builders in Florida. They are the worst company to work with. They are rude, they will damage your property, they make promises and fail to provide the necessary work and supplies. I had the owner, Brian, attempt to steal from my backyard, and when confronted, he attacked me. The police had to remove him. Sabine, the wife, has a vulgar tongue. Coltan will tell you anything but not follow through. I have filed multiple complaints against them. This is how they treated my project worth $130,000, and I wondered why I asked them to cease work. Save yourself the hassle and choose a reputable, long-standing business. Had I not been home, they would have attempted to conceal the mishaps without admitting anything, only to create a future nightmare. Here are some photos for you to assess. I will also provide video footage and a social media post detailing the actual events when you hire them. I hope this post prevents others from experiencing this nightmare. The first thing they attempt to claim is that they have not been paid. I have attached every record proving otherwise. Please refer to the photos. If I had seen a review like this, I would have never proceeded with them, as this is not a situational matter but their standard operating procedure, which is unacceptable. 1 am filing multiple reports to ensure that no one else has to endure this. The payment structure of the company is similar to that of a well-established company with over a decade of experience. Payment is made before each phase commences. However, the company has only been operating in Florida for approximately two years, which limits the reliability of their business practices. Ultimately, the homeowner bears the primary risk. As I have already experienced, paying the company to initiate the next phase only to discover that issues from previous phases remain unresolved is a common occurrence. When confronted about these issues, the company asserts that they will rectify all problems at the end of the project after all payments are received. Unfortunately, they never provide a comprehensive list of the issues. Fortunately, I had documented the problems in text messages with Coltan, which prevented them from attempting to evade responsibility. There is a significant disconnect between the staff, subcontractors, and the owners, resulting in conflicting information. When questioned about this discrepancy, they become defensive followed by their policy not to commence the next phase until payment is received in advance. These are MAJOR RED FLAGS!!!!The owner, Brian, exhibits an uncontrollable temperament, a trait I have never observed in any of the homes I have had work done on.For instance, one day he felt justified in taking items that had already been sitting on my property for a month, claiming that he would foreclose on me and accuse me of trespassing on my own property which the Police mentioned he had no right in doing. This behavior was completely out of control. Before attempting to enforce a construction lien, Brian should thoroughly review the relevant laws. Construction liens do not allow individuals to take personal possession of items to enforce them. The lien is enforced differently and must undergo a lengthy process. If the homeowner is found to be in the wrong, they would be required to pay the contractor the outstanding balance before the home is sold in the event of a sale. Fortunately, the company does not commence the next phase of work without payment, eliminating the possibility of an outstanding balance. Therefore, Brian's outburst only appeared rather peculiar. This review should not be dismissed as a mere complaint from an unhappy customer. The allegations made are not exaggerated; they are factual. Beware of their contract!
I had the pleasure of speaking with Sabina a few times with questions about the scope of the electrical portion of our pool installation and both times I've spoken to her, you can just hear the smile on her face through the phone. She's absolutely lovely to talk to, very kind and very helpful. I truly believe she is an asset to this company. In most cases, the person who answers the phone is a direct reflection of the company. You only get one chance to make a good impression and she does a great job! Keep up the good work and thanks for your help.
My name is Dorothy Caracciolo, and I’m writing this review on behalf of my son Michael and me. We had high hopes for Hang 10 Pools, but our experience exceeded our worst fears. I’m a 79-year-old widow with three incredible children: my oldest is a teacher, my middle child is a cardiologist, and my youngest is a business partner. They were raised in a small community and learned valuable lessons like responsibility, respect, kindness, hard work, and understanding. They take great pride in their contributions to their family and community. My son met with several pool builders, most of whom had been in business for over a decade. However, he chose Hang 10 Pools, a local new business, not because of the comparable prices. Instead, he believed it would be a pleasant experience working with a smaller, more intimate company that would provide a personalized touch. My husband and I were actively involved in the project. Tragically, a month after signing the contract, my husband suffered a sudden heart attack and passed away. My son was devastated because he had planned to surprise his father with a special putting green. Despite this devastating loss, he decided to persevere with the pool project as originally intended. Given my husband’s passing and my health issues, I spoke with my son daily to stay informed about the pool’s progress. This allowed me to verify the truthfulness of every aspect of his review. In fact, I believe he overlooked a crucial point that I’ll now address. Starting from the day the owner visited my house, I was on FaceTime with my son and heard everything that transpired. I heard the owner threatening foreclosure and his aggressive behavior. I advised my son to hang up and call the police. This incident triggered a spike in my blood pressure, as I suffer from hypertension, kidney issues, and lupus. I phoned my neighbor, and I was promptly taken to the ER. Consequently, I missed the opportunity to speak to my son until the next day. At that time, I asked if the owner had been arrested for the aggravated push. His response was, “No, Mom. I don’t feel the guy deserves to have his life ruined. I just didn’t want to get hurt, and the police assured me he wouldn’t bother me again, which was good enough.” This is the kind of person my son is—always wanting the best for everyone! My son had thoroughly researched every aspect of building a pool from the ground up, so when things took an unexpected turn, he naturally questioned those responsible. As a business, if you’re doing things right, you shouldn’t be offended or defensive. However, this is precisely the approach they took, as evident in their response to his review. In my opinion, it’s crucial for the public to be aware of this company’s actions. My son paid them $70,000 and was left with a nightmare of issues. Even on the day the owner arrived, he attempted to talk to him, believing they were there to work. However, as things unfolded, they had already devised a plan to abandon the project. They have caused immense pain and suffering for a project that should have brought joy. Shame on them. I don’t believe my son’s incident is isolated. One of his neighbors also ended up in a dire situation. Even though they abandoned him, they are now attempting to sue him instead of humbly moving on. We have advised him to not only defend himself but now counter-sue. However, things go, he knows he has his family’s support but also the friendship and support of his neighbors, who are all aware of the circumstances. Hang 10 Pools doesn’t respect its customers; therefore, do they really deserve to have any! I would also question the validity of there good reviews for work completed as we have researched the building departments permit records and several of the names of the reviewers do not appear on any of the open or closed permits across 3 counties. Please take my and my son’s review, photos and video’s seriously, as it is entirely accurate.
Colton is one of the most professional individuals I have ever had to pleasure of working with. His team is responsive, professional, thorough, and organized. Colton has done several projects for me and, is currently on a couple now. It's always a breeze when working with them. The quality of his work is more than exceptional, and good attention to detail. He always makes himself available and if for some reason he is tied up, he calls you right back. I will always recommend him and his team.
I spoke with Colton from Hang 10, and he was very professional, friendly, and extremely accommodating. The consultation and quote went so well that I was very close to hiring the company. Before signing a contract, I decided to do more research. I came across numerous negative reviews, which prompted me to dig deeper. As I continued my research, I found additional accounts from customers describing experiences that raised serious concerns for me. I also reviewed publicly available records relating to complaints and information concerning the owners and prior business ventures. Based on everything I found, I ultimately decided that the risk was too great for me. No price was worth the potential consequences. While my interaction with Colton was positive, the overall picture that emerged from my research gave me little confidence in moving forward, so I chose to hire another contractor instead.
