This review is long overdue. That said, if you are considering building a custom pool, just stop looking. This is your builder. Contact Kristin Cultrera for a free design session and see your ideas come to life. We got exactly what we envisioned, a clean simple pool with a sun shelf, picture screen in cage, full patio replacement and top of the line pool equipment with automation and remote phone control. They started the project on the date committed and finished 60 days later, as promised. 60 days from dig to pool being caged and full of water. 60 days, not 6 months or 3 months promised and stretched out to 12 months. All of my questions were answered promptly, often after normal business hours, and communications with the county, HOA were seamless. Many thanks to Kristin, her husband Ryan, Matt our pool tech for a thorough pool school and the many team members who made our dream a reality. I look forward to continuing as a customer under their weekly maintenance program, which after 30 days has been immaculate. Jason - we never met, but you have assembled a great team. Keep up the good work.
I’m genuinely disappointed that things didn’t work out with this company because I had high hopes going into the process. Unfortunately, the way the design and sales process is handled was not a good fit for us. We began reaching out over a month before closing on our new home because we wanted to have everything planned and finalized so construction could begin shortly after we moved in. Despite investing a full month into the process, we still never arrived at a complete design. Communication was inconsistent and unpredictable. Sometimes responses would take hours, other times days, and there was never a clear expectation of when we would hear back. For a project of this size, I expected a much more collaborative and hands-on experience. What was most frustrating was the lack of design guidance. As homeowners, we’re not pool designers. We were hoping to sit down with a professional, discuss our space, review options, receive recommendations, and have someone help us develop a vision that fit our needs and budget. Instead, it felt like the responsibility of creating the design was placed entirely on us, with the company simply making edits to whatever ideas we came up with ourselves. If you already know exactly what you want and can provide a detailed design concept, this company may work well for you. However, if you’re looking for design expertise, guidance, and a more consultative experience, that was not what we received. After spending an entire month trying to move forward without reaching a finalized design, we’ve decided to move in a different direction with another pool company. While I wish the experience had been different, I feel our time could have been used much more effectively. Edit: Thank you for taking the time to respond. I don’t dispute that there were multiple revisions. In fact, that’s exactly what my review describes. My concern was never the number of revisions, it was that the design process. Your response actually illustrates the experience we had. Throughout the process, we provided AI renderings, inspiration photos, and ideas because we were trying to communicate the style we liked. We expected those to serve as a starting point for your design expertise, not to become the design process itself. Each time we brought new ideas, it took days to hear back and they were simply revised into another proposal via text messages. There was no sit down so we could see in real time and adjust our design evaluate our space, explain different possibilities, and guide us toward the best overall design. We specifically chose a custom pool company because we wanted professional guidance. Instead, we felt responsible for researching layouts, features, proportions, and aesthetics ourselves while waiting through long periods between revisions. After deciding to move in a different direction, the difference was immediately apparent. Our new pool company sat down with us in their office, listened to our general vision and saw our same AI renderings, and within a single meeting (less than an hour) we finalized a complete design and signed contracts. More importantly, they suggested features, layouts, and design elements we had never even considered that elevated our original ideas far beyond what we initially envisioned. They provided the design expertise and collaboration we had been looking for from the beginning that you’re company did not provide. That contrast confirmed for us that our expectations were reasonable. Different companies simply have different design philosophies. While your process may work well for customers who already have every detail planned out, we were looking for a more consultative, designer-led experience. Unfortunately, that was not our experience, which is why we ultimately chose another company. I sincerely wish things had worked out differently, but my review reflects our honest experience and is intended to help future customers understand what to expect from the design process with your company.
I've heard a lot of great things about JTS Pools from people who have had them build their pools. Fortunately or unfortunately, when I bought my home the pool was already installed, so I can't speak to the construction side personally. However, JTS Pools recently started servicing my pool, and I can honestly say they are leaps and bounds ahead of the other pool companies we've used down here. One thing I really appreciate is that they take pictures of everything when they leave, so you know they were there and exactly what was done. They don't just rush in and rush out. They actually inspect your pool and equipment and let you know if anything needs attention. They've only been servicing my pool for about two weeks, and they've already identified an issue with my timer that was likely damaged during a lightning storm. They came out the very same day, installed a new timer, and didn't just swap it out and leave. They made sure everything was operating correctly and that the pool was functioning as it should before they left. I couldn't be happier with my new service provider. If you're looking for pool maintenance, JTS Pools should absolutely be on your list. If you're looking to have a new pool built, I live in an HOA where many homeowners have used them, and I've heard nothing but positive feedback about their work. Keep up the great work, JTS Pools!
Anyone that uses JT Custom Pools are Crazy! This company stands behind nothing. I have had nothing but trouble ever since I got the pool. Every problem ( there were many) they claimed not their fault. Had to have other people fix their mistakes. They want $135 just to come out and say you’re out of warranty or normal wear. Would recommend to my worst enemies. Have to resurface my pool. They did a shitty job installing it. Pool is 3 plus years old. Turtles are fading. 1. The first couple of weeks noticed the lights in the pool weren’t working. Called. Worker came out and said the light wasn’t installed. 2. Made several calls about stains around the turtle tile and a stain around the edges. Supervisor came out tried to get the stains out. Took several calls and several visits. Eventually he did get the stains out from around the turtle but it obviously bleached the turtle itself. (Which is now totally different then The others). Not knowing any better at the time, I thought that was okay. (Note now that I just had my pool chemically treated to remove all the stains and there was no damage to the existing turtles. ). It pays to have someone that knows what he’s doing. 3. Called numerous times about your pool cleaning guy, Bob. He would come to service our pool be there 5 minutes or less and left. ( we had cameras and would watch) we called and spoke with “Matt” supervisor several times. He said he would talk to Bob. Bob even took a picture one day showing he was there. So funny because the picture he took showed a float we didn’t have for weeks!! Obviously a prior picture. Once again called and was told it was common practice. We wanted Bob to let us know he was there so if we had any concerns we could let him know. That’s good business! That never happened. Well we asked for a new guy which we got for a while. Then Bob was back. Old behavior continued. So we cancelled and went with a better and more reliable guy. 4. Then less than a year, we go to use the heater for the pool and the heater does not work Supervisor “Matt” came out said we had the wrong pump to run the heater. He said he would talk to the owner as it is the wrong pump for our set up. He came back a week later and told us the owner refused and said we would have to pay extra for the better pump. We said no way give us a pump that will run our heater. So he came back again and “rewired” the pump to make it work. Now I know that killed the warranty. But that was all you would do for us. Still waiting for that to go. 5. Called about the salt chlorinator. The red lights are coming on. Supervisor “Matt” comes out and says “it’s our chemicals”. He calls and speaks to my pool guy about how he is treating the pool. He then says the Chlorinator is okay; Will not replace. Like I said you don’t stand by anything. So I went to the pool store to have it replaced. I was told that the model we had had been discontinued because they were having so much trouble with them. So I bought another model and had it installed (with someone else because I don’t trust you or your people. ) have not had any issues since. Here we go again pool heater will not run. Pool pump running too slow. Pump will not run fast enough to run heater. JT would not give me the proper pump to run the heater. They tried to make the pump work faster by requiring it. Can not trust them so I will be calling someone for the right pump that I should have had from the beginning.
JT’s Custom Pools recently completed a new inground pool install for us and we could not be more pleased with the overall experience. We actually consulted with several companies before we made our decision, and we were very impressed with their overall professionalism and willingness to work with us to design a pool that fit our needs. Our Design Specialist, Don Martens, was awesome. He came out to our property to look over the area for our pool and then provided us with an initial drawing and quote for our review. We then sat down with Don and made a few minor revisions to the design and then picked out our materials. The pool install actually started a little sooner than we anticipated, which was great. The contractors for each phase of the build were very knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and respectful, which also made the whole process pleasant. The administrative personnel at JT’s were also great to work with and were able to answer any questions we had. Everyone was very good about answering calls and quickly replying to emails, which made the process stress free. We would highly recommend JT’s Custom Pools and are very pleased with our new backyard oasis. Thank you so much, Don, and the entire staff and contractors of JT’s Customer Pools. We are very happy customers. The Kessells
My husband and I had never had a pool before. We were told to go to JT Custom Pools and checked their reviews and this is where we went. From the start, our salesman Don, was professional, gave recommendations and helped us design exactly what we wanted. During the construction process, we called with a lot of questions and Theresa was wonderful and answered all our questions. Even if she had to find out the information, she called or emailed right back with what we needed. Once the pool was complete, Matt was here to guide us through all the equipment and care/maintenance and also conducted our Pool School lesson. The entire team at JT Pools, including everyone who was at the house doing the construction, were nothing but 100% professional, nice as could be, cleaned at the end of every day and we couldn't be happier.
