We had an outstanding experience building our pool with Trendsetter Pools and would highly recommend them to anyone considering a pool project. Our designer and salesperson Dave Adams did an incredible job from the start. He created a design that fit our backyard perfectly and incorporated everything we were looking for, including a sun shelf, bench seating, and a beautiful waterfall feature. The final result looks amazing and the layout is both functional and visually impressive. The entire Trendsetter Pools team was great to work with throughout the process. The office staff was especially helpful and responsive — anytime we had questions they handled them professionally and got back to us quickly. One of the things that impressed us most was the timeline. Trendsetter completed our pool in about three and a half months, which was on the shorter end of the schedule they originally estimated. The quality of the workmanship is excellent, and the equipment installed is all high quality. Even after the pool was finished, we had a few punch-list items, and Trendsetter Pools came back promptly and resolved everything quickly. We really appreciated how they followed through and stood behind their work. Overall, we are extremely happy with our pool and the entire experience working with Trendsetter Pools. David and the whole team did a fantastic job, and we would absolutely recommend Trendsetter to anyone looking to build a pool. As a homeowner who paid close attention to the design, construction process, and equipment installation, I can confidently say the quality of the build and the systems they installed were excellent, which gave us a lot of confidence in the final product.

I'm building a new single-family home and started the pool project in parallel to avoid digging up the property multiple times. After getting a couple of quotes, I chose Trendsetter Pools based on their references, the impression from the sales meeting, and pricing. The sales phase went well. David is a genuinely helpful guy — he patiently walked us through design and contracting, which mattered since this is our first pool. We also had a couple of special requests they were able to accommodate (a better pool controller, specific ledger stone, a different spa color). The problems started in the execution phase. You have to chase them at every step. Emails go unanswered, including ones addressed to Gary, the owner. No response to text messages. No callbacks. No committed dates. Issues go unaddressed. At one point I retained a lawyer and gathered emails, text messages, and records of unreturned calls to send a demand letter — but they restarted work after many weeks of follow-ups (without any communication), so I held off. In my view, the payment schedule is heavily weighted in their favor: at almost any point, their costs are already covered, so there's little financial incentive to move to the next stage quickly. I've attached a few photos of the current state of construction. I asked them to finish as soon as possible once I had power at the house on April 20. Since then (nearly 4 months!), very little has happened. The deck drainage problems are damaging the material, and the pool is filling with green rainwater. I can't imagine how they'd handle warranty issues down the road, but I guess I will find out. On a positive note, the tile guys and the screen company were very good but that’s a very small part of the project. Seems others had positive experience, my advice, use them at your own risk...

It has been over a year since Trendsetters built our pool. Our pool was finished a couple of weeks before the hurricanes hit in the TB area last year in 2024. For the first 4-6 months, our pool had different issues (blower wouldn't work even after replacement and several fixes to the breaker, floodlights were missing after the pool enclosure, communication issues between the outdoor control panel and our router, etc.), but every time there was an issue (especially after heavy rain and/or winds)Trendsetters was very responsive and had someone come out and assess the situation. If they didn't have an answer or thought the manufacturer had to be involved, Trendsetters helped us as much as they could to get an answer. It seemed that we couldn't find what the issue was exactly, but after several replacements of parts or re-installing something, we think our pool finally works. It has been about 6-8 months where we haven't had an issue. This past summer was our first summer enjoying the pool and this is the second winter with the pool. During the first winter, our pool had problems, so we are testing the fixes and so far so good. The pool design was outstanding (Dave was our guy) and Bobbi was instrumental to help us coordinate all issues with the owner. I gave Trendsetters a 5 because even though we had issues, Trendsetters took ownership until the pool was running as expected. Thank you Trendsetters for being diligent and for standing by your work.

I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with Trendsetter Pools was so frustrating and disappointing that I feel obligated to warn others. From the moment construction started, we dealt with ongoing issues that the company has refused to take responsibility for — and now they’ve simply stopped responding. There’s concrete residue left on my fence, discarded tile pieces just past our property line, yellow glue residue on our rock tiles (which they dismiss as “normal” and claim will just come off over time), a screen bracket left half-attached after waterfall rework, and worst of all, drainage issues caused by them removing a downspout. Their “fix” was to steal a downspout from another part of my house, leaving that area without proper drainage and a hole in the ground from the water erosion still sitting untouched. We’ve contacted them multiple times, asking for follow-up, but have been ignored or brushed off. Their lack of accountability is staggering. What really made this an awful experience, though, was the construction manager, John. He ignored texts and calls, never checked in with us, and communication throughout the project was basically nonexistent. While I had some interactions with him, his tone became noticeably more dismissive and degrading when speaking only with my wife. If John ends up being your construction manager, good luck — his unprofessional behavior, lack of basic respect, and terrible communication made an already frustrating experience even worse. As for the owner, Garry, he’s been equally dismissive. He refused to take any personal accountability, never called or visited in person to discuss concerns, and instead had his office manager send emails on his behalf. It felt like once the check cleared, they no longer cared. Bottom line: this was a horrible experience from start to finish. The quality, communication, and customer service were all far below what anyone should expect from a professional company. I would not recommend Trendsetter Pools to anyone.

I honestly can't believe that there are no other reviews before now! Trendsetter Pools built our custom pool back in 2007. We are just as happy with our pool today as the day it was built. They were not the least expensive nor were they the most expensive, but they were the ONLY company to listen to what we wanted and come to us with a plan for a pool that was not "cookie cutter" like the other pool companies kept bringing us. The build went smoothly with very few setbacks (as with any build) and we were enjoying our pool in no time. They were always quick to complete any warranty work and even completed a repair a couple years outside of warranty for a coping issue we had because they felt it wasn't right and shouldn't have happened. Fast forward 11 years to this summer. Out of nowhere, tile under the portion of the coping where we had the original issue began to fall off into the pool. Knowing we were so far out of warranty and not knowing who to hire for a repair, we called Trendsetter to see who they would recommend or even if they had a subcontractor that we could hire for the repair. They sent a representative from their warranty department to come out and take a look at the issue. After inspecting the tile and the coping, taking pictures and showing the owner of the company what was going on, I later got a word that they would repair the issue at no charge! Even though we thought this was more than likely due to the original issue, we still didn't expect Trendsetter to warranty this at this point. This was not the fault of Trendsetter themselves, yet a result of the original subcontractor not using enough cement on the back of the tiles and coping. In addition, because they wanted to be sure the grout matched they went ahead and grouted around the entire perimeter of the pool. It looks perfect! It's very difficult to find a business that stands behind their work even years after it is complete. I am sure their great customer service and beautiful pools are the reason they are still in business today and other pool companies come and go. Good business practices such as this are few and far between and we will recommend Trendsetter to anyone who is thinking of building a pool in the future.

When they are selling you on a pool the communication is great. Once you put a deposit down and sign papers communication and updates are almost non existent. You constantly have to ask them for updates. I don’t think anything would have gotten done if we hadn’t asked. Any issues we had, we had someone we were supposed to contact, but they rarely respond. Once the pool was finally finished, there were last minute issues with a lot of stuff (still are). We constantly have to ask when these things will be fixed. Still not done. Example: our heater was leaking. They said it was just condensation. We knew it wasn’t. Turns out it was actually a leak, but they kept giving us the excuse it was just condensation. We had to push to get it fixed. They also programmed our heater wrong. We turned the heater off because we didn’t want it running all the time, but they had it messed up and it was constantly running even though we did not have it on. Because of the heater running 24/7 we got a huge electric bill. We asked for a credit to pay for the electric bill as it was not our fault. Their response was “No, there will not be a credit for the heat pump.” We’ve had several other issues and they are only getting fixed because we keep pestering them. They really only care about getting their money and then leave you high and dry for the longest time. Sometimes you have to send 3 emails before they will respond to you. Our pool is beautiful, but with the hassle of working with this company, I would steer clear. In response to the response below: I don’t know how many times we have told you we NEVER touched the buttons on the heat pump. John (the project manager) did. We SAW HIM! He was apparently fixing it. Which it didn’t fix it. You don’t listen. We keep getting blamed for touching the buttons on the heat pump. Again, we NEVER did. Repeat after me:”THE HOME OWNERS NEVER TOUCHED THE HEAT PUMP.” The issue here isn’t the “leak” so I don’t even know why you brought that up(which by the way the leak was fixed and doesn’t have “condensation” anymore, weird that you say it wasn’t a leak). The issue was the heat was constantly running in the pool even though we turned it off ON OUR APP like instructed. It was not programmed correctly (again, somehow our fault????). We did communicate with you the issue once we figured out it was constantly running. But we had to constantly try to get it fixed. Excuses kept being made and we kept being blamed. Yes our pool is beautiful, but the hassle of getting it was not worth it. The only person who was nice and that we actually enjoyed working with was Tommy. Maybe take some lessons from him in how to communicate and be pleasant with clients.
