Working with Poolscapes has made this pool remodeling much easier. I will say that they always answer their phone calls and are truly trying to help make your decisions easy. They have a lot of knowledge from years in the pool business. Hunter has been there to help me pick out my materials and decide what looks best for my kind of gunite pool. He is easy to work with and wants to please. Austin has been my supervisor of the remodel. He is extremely helpful and keeps me informed daily on the schedule. He also is quick to answer his phone and to help with any matters. Poolscapes was not my first call for this remodel, But they were my last call. Very please with all the employees involved. Thank you!!!
Our experience with Southern Poolscapes has been nothing short of horrible. They came highly recommended to us so having to write this is unfortunate. We contacted them back in July for a quote, which in person was verbally said to be around $120k. When we got the quote back, it was $160k. We went back and forth but ultimately decided to proceed with the project as we were told we were getting everything we wanted. We were quoted the timeframe for the project would be approximately 12 weeks. Dig day came around and to no fault of Southern Poolscapes, the septic field was in the direct path of where our pool would go. I understand and acknowledge again, this was not their fault. This set our project back a couple weeks to ready the "shit"uation. Once the drain filed was moved we began digging the week of Halloween, 2025. The project progressed slowly- some things would be done in 3 days, and then we would see no one for a week or longer. A few months passed and the designer called to tell us there was a "problem". We were supposed to have the travertine overlaid on our existing patio, which we were verbally told was being done in the 160k sticker shock pricetag we agreed to, but again, agreed being told everything we wanted was being included. The designer indicated that he had NOT included the cost of the overlay on the patio in the quote provided and he was 'confused himself' as the quote listed "overlay" but ultimately this material was being used elsewhere. If the designer does not understand the contract, but verbally tells you it is being included, and the contract states "OVERLAY" one would assume that the material is in fact, included. They wanted an additional $7,000 to complete the work, which was out of the question at this point, given the extra 40k and the cost to move our drain field. He laughed about the problem as if it was no big deal, which in fact, it is. I explained my concern as the pool was already dug and the depth was dug to accommodate for the overlay, but I was told it would be a non-issue. Because our pool had to be shifted due to the septic drain field issue, we decided to add a small amount of decking to extend the patio to our bedroom in the event we wanted to put in a slider in the future. When they were on site, I was told it would be $2200 for the material. When I was sent an invoice, they invoiced me for $2450 and told me that I also now needed to pay shipping as the material was already "all on site". I protested and they eventually took the extra shipping fee off, but it was not a great look when I was verbally told $2200. We went out of town in January and while we were gone the decking was laid. When we returned, the decking has a severe slant towards our home, which it is BEYOND clear is due to the fact that the pool was dug at a depth to accommodate for the overlay going over the patio. I told our project manager that we are NOT happy with the decking and the slant, however they refuse to remedy the situation or acknowledge the fact that this is due to their HUGE screw up and refusal to remedy. Additionally, in our contract which was NOT explained properly, there is an allotment for $2,000 "gas credit". This apparently should be used for the propane to heat the spa- don't let them fool you, this will NOT cover the fee, not even close. Our neighbors used Southern and had the tank included in the fee of their pool along with the initial fill. They had no need to contact a separate contractor to set this up. When we called who southern recommended, it was over $3400 and did not include the cost of the tank being filled. Additionally, there is an annual tank rental fee which was not disclosed to us when we agreed to the full price either. We were told a completion date of February 28th, over a month ago. I sit here writing this to tell you there is no end in sight. The electrician was supposed to be out a month ago and has not shown up. We have multiple loose ends that are not completed. The plaster date has not been scheduled and it's been over 6 months since this all began.
Working with Hunter Talley from Southern Pool Scapes was an exceptional experience. Hunter's professionalism and expertise were evident from the very beginning. He was easy to communicate with, always keeping us updated and involved throughout the entire process. Overall, Hunter was a true professional, and working with him was a breeze. His positive attitude, expertise, and commitment to delivering great results made him an ideal partner. I would highly recommend him to anyone!
We got 4 quotes on building a swimming pool in Panama City Beach. Paul with Poolscapes explained in detail exactly what the process would be like… step by step. He didn’t rush us and answered every question that we asked since we had never had a pool before. His quote was the highest of the four but his professionalism and knowledge made the decision easy. He made us feel at ease about building a pool instead of making us second guess our decision. We are looking forward to working with Paul and are actually excited about building our pool.
We've made it a point to buy homes with pools already done because all we've heard are horror stories of the process from these larger pool companies. Our new home was everything we wanted, but didn't have a pool. We tried some of the big names, only to be directed to some call center to setup an appointment and then get no response, then we found Southern Poolscapes as local company with a lot of experience. Really appreciated the timeliness of response from the beginning. The design, pricing and regular follow-up of this team and Paul Marchant has been fantastic. The design hit everything we wanted the first time, which showed he listened and took great notes. The price came in less than anticipated considering what neighbors had done from other companies. Very happy with the overall process and look forward to having a new pool.
1) The pool design/contract phase (with Mikail was executed seamless with no surprises. 2) The construction phase started as scheduled during initial discussions. 3) The construction foremen (Daniel and Jeremy) were very professional and easy to work with. 4) The contractors utilized were respectful with working hours and cleanliness. 5) The working condition in our yard started out with very wet conditions and the contractors were experienced in dealing with this type of condition. 6) The startup process and training met my expectations. 7) The entire construction/startup process was completed in about 100 days.
