We are happy with the job Essig Pool did on our pool remodel! From start to finish, the team was professional, knowledgeable, and attentive to the many details involved in the project. We had a specific vision for how we wanted our pool to look and function, and Essig Pool did an outstanding job bringing that vision to life. We would especially like to thank Armando for doing such a great job managing the build and keeping everything moving throughout the process. We also sincerely appreciate Ray for taking the time to help us with the equipment and answer our questions after the build was completed, and Elaine for her help with the post-build follow-up. A special thank-you as well to Ed, the General Manager, for being accommodating and working with us throughout the entire process. As with any large project, there are a few items that still need to be addressed, but we are confident that Essig Pool will take care of them. Overall, our experience has been extremely positive, and we are very pleased with the quality of the work and the professionalism of the entire team. Buyer Beware..... Our two year old pool is being completely demolished and rebuilt (by a different company) as a result of an Essig build. Yes, Essig has had to paid us for this upcoming rebuild. I've been processing our experience with Essig, for a new pool construction, for a while now and have taken the time to really think about how to handle this review. I'm going to dive in with just facts.... and I invite Essig (more accurately Garden City Equity partners- the company that now owns Essig) to reply to this review. We contracted for a new pool in March 2023 with what we thought was the family owned Essig pools. Unbeknownst to us, the family owned Essig had been recently purchased by Garden City EP and was no longer under the management of Dan Essig, who was the head of Essig for 30 years. The problem our pool had was that the shell of the pool, the virtual backbone structure of the pool, was installed during an actual named hurricane. Hurricane Idalia went north of us but the rain bands were in the area that day. We called Essig that morning to ask them to delay the shotcrete shell install but they told me "the truck is already of the way and this product is use in underwater installs and will be perfectly fine". I'm not in construction but it sounded odd to us. We watched the shell being installed in the pouring rain without any tarping over it. Our pool shotcrete shell had so many holes in it as a result of the install in the rain that Essig spend the next two months attempting to patch the holes with layers upon layers of hydraulic cement. The construction managers assured us that hydraulic cement was the appropriate fix and that this was a very common (scary if they did this in other pools) and that it would be ok. Long story short, it was not. The entire deep end (all 15 feet wide and 8 feet into the shallow end) and the spa had massive layers of patching. These patches caused massive cold joints in the shell. The water that is pushing up into space between the shell and the plaster stained the plaster. Our 10 day old pool had major stains. Essig tried blaming our "start up company", our monthly cleaning company... this that and everything else and finally said they were "done helping us" because they kept saying the issue was cosmetic. We brought in an independent pool inspector who advised us that given our construction facts and photos, we had a big problem with the shell. We then had to hire a structural engineer to give their professional opinion as to what was wrong. With those two reports we realized we had a real problem. Our pool wasn't in compliance with Florida building codes and American Concrete Industry standards. Our shell had a catastrophic failure. Even though essig has a 5 year warranty on this and lifetime on that...they refused to discuss this issue further with us. They reminded us that their contract had a section of "Legally binding arbitration" as the next step if there was a problem. So we opened an arbitration with the Florida Swimming Pool Association. Please know the structural engineer was $1500, to open an arbitration with FSPA is another $3500. So at this point we were out of pocket $5000. Fast forward 6 months, the arbitration board unanimously found in our favor as our pool concrete shell does not meet Florida building codes or American Concrete Industry standards. When we were having our issues we were told over and over "it'll be ok, we're Essig" "Don't worry, we're Essig" ..... trust me, when push comes to shove, Essig doesn't care. Maybe our experience was unique. I'm hoping it was because I can't imagine a company handling someone's home investment like this. Please also know that when Essig lost the arbitration, they hired an attorney to file an appeal (they lost)... Then they hired a second attorney to try to negotiate again (we refused). Do yourself a favor and don't get involved with them with such a large investment.

Our new Essig pool was completed Feb. 1, 2025. The experience with Essig has been totally positive. The construction in my opinion, went pretty much without a hitch, Essig expertly handled the permitting, and construction logistics which on Miami Beach is normally a difficult place to get things built. The job was completed within the estimated time. Only recently did we have a small issue that needed repair and Elaine and Armando immediately had people out to remedy the situation to my complete satisfaction. if you are considering a new pool, I recommend Essig. We use our pool nearly every day and believe we made a great choice. Eric W., Miami Beach

I did my pool in 2025 and the pool is already missing pieces in the caulking and the tile in the edges is breaking . I contacted the owner Oscar and he read my messages and does not respond I had scratches in the pool 5 months after I’d was finished Be careful after your pool is completed they don’t respect the warranty or call you back

Essig Pools delivered an excellent experience when they built our pool, and what has truly set them apart is the remarkable post‑sales service we continue to receive years later. Elaine Tisdol has been phenomenal, her responsiveness, professionalism, and genuine commitment to customer care are unmatched. Whether it’s maintenance questions or repair needs, she consistently provides top‑level support and makes everything seamless. It’s rare to find a company that stands by its work long after the project is complete, but Essig Pools does exactly that. Highly recommended.

Essig pools is by far, hands down the worst customer service I have ever seen, and I have dealt with some horrible companies. Once they have your money they completely ignore you. it doesn’t matter who it is, including the general manager, who is terrible. With all the choices for quality pools out there I worn every customer to stay away from Essig. it takes a lot for me to write a negative review, but Essig pools has exceeded every possible standard of poor customer service.
