La mejor y la peor de cada plataforma. Ambas, siempre.
We've had the pleasure of working with Scott, Stephanie, and their team for many years, and they have consistently been a pleasure to work with. As one of their subcontractors, we've always found them to be responsive, professional, organized, and excellent communicators. They truly value their trade partners and make every effort to keep projects running smoothly. We sincerely appreciate our long standing relationship and look forward to many more years of working together. We highly recommend their team!
So unprofessional, shady and rude. We wanted to construct a simple 36' x 14' rectangle pool and deck. Our city lot is huge, flat, clear and can easily be accessed from the street by large equipment. Soil tests already done, tree removal done, design done, fencing and gates in place. Upon our attempt to get pricing from Stephanie Taggart, she just threw together and sent a one page proposal that was formatted like a 5-year old did it in Word 95. We had additional questions about it and she acted annoyed like we had "THE AUDACITY" to ask. She then lied to us regarding pricing to the use of materials in a revised proposal. The first thing out of her mouth when I came to their showroom to look at samples was "Everything is TWICE as expensive from pre-pandemic pricing!" It was obvious she was screening us. This process took place over weeks, wasting even more of our time. She refused to answer questions. Refused to include items we asked for. Tied to specific manufacturers. Limited options on everything from pumps to heaters and lights to decking. Over half the samples in their showroom were styles from 30 years ago. Signature Pools chooses their customers based on their ignorance of the pool construction process. They pick and choose jobs from people who look easy to push around and which job has the highest gross margin for them. We've heard they always say they "don't need the work" so definitely take your money elsewhere. Total waste of time and energy.
If you are shopping for a pool installer stop now and call Signature. Stephanie and Scott are by far the best in the business in South Florida. We just recently completed our install two days ago and as far as it goes the construction was smooth, seamless and on point. It is true Scott is a man of a few words, however, he will never lie to you and will always provide factual good advice to help you save time and money. Signature did not try to upsell at all throughout the entire process. They in fact advised that certain features we were looking at would not work out well or cost us additional money in which we would not need to spend. Never once did I feel pressured or insecure about the work Signature was doing. From planning, to permitting, to completion Stephanie advised along the way. Stephanie is as good as it gets when it comes to permitting and scheduling. Advising along the way of any thing that came up from minor issues such as a back order (Let's be honest Covid has done a number on the industry) all the way to the good news such as what step in the process we were in. The entire project took 6.5 weeks from dig to fill. Stephanie was even sad that she could not finish the pool in the standard 5-6 weeks that Signature typically finishes in. Signature was not our first pool builder, we fired our first due to lack of communication and trust issues. Really we should have went with Signature from the start as this has been one of the most pleasant construction experiences I have ever had.
Stephanie was great and helpful as we were getting organized. Her husband Scott ( who we waited a month for a meeting with ) proved to be a rude and completely unprofessional person. We had a 3PM appointment I scheduled directly with Scott. He showed up at 2:57 and refused to give us any information other than 2 painted red dots on the lawn. No brochure. No idea of cost or timing. Not willing to talk to my partner who is latin, an MBA and a custom home builder in Chicago. Racial issue maybe? I was in traffic and was going to be 5 minutes late. When my partner raised me on the phone he seems bothered to even be talking to either of us and claimed he was going to be late for another 3PM appointment so could not wait 5 minutes to meet me in person. Double book ? No apology and no courtesy. We are professional people and deal with trades in our building business all the time. Some great some good and some bad. I would not use Scott if he was the last pool installer on the planet and I had to dig the pool on my own with a teaspoon. RUN don't walk from Scott. Stephanie in great. To bad.
I was recommended by a contractor friend to use Signature. I was told they are the best, fastest and most professional. They were 100% accurate. Scott, the pool builder is a man of few words but he is one hell of a hard worker. Stephanie, the voice behind the operation, was there to answer any and every question I had along the way. They wizzed through the permits and construction. Every subcontractor they hired were respectful and friendly. Everyone worked every single day rain or shine. My pool was completed in 4 weeks after ground breaking. I got exactly what i wanted, no bs, no upselling, no run-around. They were in and out and did an amazing job. They are worth every penny.
I am HALF-chuckling as I write this review. Scott, the owner of Signature just left my house 30 minutes ago. Stephanie was responsive and v nice on the phone. We managed to get a soil test done in a quick manner because of her and because of that we were very appreciative. THAT is where my good experience ended. Scott showed up for an appointment today at 3pm very punctual. Actually, he showed up at 257p on the dot. He immediately asked to see the backyard and I immediately met him there to look at our proposed pool area.. 258p - He has finished spraying an orange dot in grass and says he is done and will send us a proposal...? I am completely surprised and tell him we have many questions as to options/placement/timeframes/codes etc and wanted to go over those with him. He grunts sighs and rolls his eyes and acts COMPLETELY bothered by any questions whatsoever, cutting me off several times. (Now, I am a younger latin professional in a dirty t-shirt from working a new home all day.... Was that a factor? Hmmm not sure) 259p - I ask him if he is bothered and seems somewhat disgusted to be on site. He responds that he has a 300p appt and will be late to it!!!! MIND YOU HE HAS BEEN ON MY PROPERTY FOR LESS THAN 3 MINUTES. LOL 300p - My engineer friend who was anxious to speak to him is on the phone asking his questions and Scott proceeds to say, "Ill send you a proposal, I can do whatever you want." 301p - I politely tell my friend on the phone that the meeting is over and I wouldn't give this snarling disagreeable man my hard earned money under ANY circumstances (in Scotts earshot) and he storms off and speeds off to his next appt. *** Mind you, pools with hot tubs etc are no small expense. If a product is going to cost 30-60k dollars, then maybe you plan to spend more than THREE minutes with a potential client who has waited a MONTH for a meeting!!! just FYI, I used to think the WORST tempered and snobby sales people in the USA were Porsche sales people. Scott has easily taken the top prize!!!
