I cannot say enough great things about Custom Pools by Design! If you're considering a pool in Southwest Florida, I HIGHLY recommend them and would not even bother going with another company, as our experience with them was more than exceptional!!! After purchasing our home in 2022, I spent countless hours researching reputable pool companies because I had heard so many horror stories about contractors taking deposits and never completing the work, or projects dragging on for a year or more. Because of that, I was extremely selective when choosing a company. Custom Pools by Design consistently stood out with the best reviews and a strong reputation. I first met with Brady, our sales representative, in January 2023, and he provided us with an estimate, and was able to make the most of the limited space we had. After meeting with him, I knew I found the right pool contractor! I ended up having to wait nearly two years before I could qualify for financing unfortunately due to being self employe and throughout that entire time, Brady was incredibly patient, understanding, and never once pushy. Once I secured financing in December 2025, I contacted Brady, and not only did they honor the original estimate, but they were also able to get us scheduled within just 2.5 months!! Construction began on March 12, 2026, and both our pool and cage were completed in less than eight weeks! We were swimming by May 8th!! The communication throughout the project was exceptional!! We received weekly updates, detailed schedules, and prompt responses whenever we had questions. They were easily the most responsive contractor I have ever worked with! The entire process was seamless from start to finish. They handled everything, allowing us to enjoy the experience without worrying about the details. As an added bonus, they also provided 30 days of complimentary pool cleaning and chemical service after completion, giving us plenty of time to arrange ongoing maintenance. I truly cannot stress enough how smooth and positive this experience was. If I ever build another pool, Custom Pools by Design would be my first and only choice!!!!!
We built our pool and spa in conjunction with building a new home in Cape Coral. We lived 1,000 miles away, both of us working full time and we did not have many opportunities to physically check in to make sure everything was on the up and up. We had to find a company that we had faith in to give us the most beautiful pool, that would build it well with no short cuts and give us a good price point. I reached out to 3 pool companies that were recommended on social media. One company did not ever call me back, one who spoke with promises but then reneged in the end and Custom Pools by Design who worked with us diligently. Brady patiently worked with us through our ideas of the ultimate dream pool (all the bells and whistles) to a unique curvy pool and spa that was within our budget and included all of our must haves. The office staff, especially Cara, were easy to get in touch with when we needed information or concerns. They even answered the phone instead of sending it to voicemail or employed the answer/hold trick. The City did throw a wrench in the final steps of the process (I guess that is a normal situation in The "Cape") and Custom Pools by Design did not even blink to make it right and in a timely manner. They made a really frustrating and overwhelming situation into "No big deal, we got you". The pool is absolutely gorgeous, the cage is sturdy and well built, and the paver installation is perfect and a real eye catcher. WE lucked out finding this company. I strongly encourage anyone looking to a pool and/or spa give Custom Pools by Design a call. Tell Cara we said "Hi".
I would highly recommend Custom Pools by Design! They were recommended to us by family and friends who have used them in the past and we were not disappointed. They exceeded our expectations in every way. We love the final product and were thoroughly impressed watching the project come together. Their team was professional and Cara was in constant contact with us from start to finish. Their price was fair, coming in lower than many of the other quotes we received. The project timeline was also completed earlier than expected. I have nothing but positive things to say and would use them again for any future projects!

Custom Pools by Design of Cape Coral: license CPC1459717 since 2021, 4.8 on Google from 86 reviews against a 4.52 state average.
Custom Pools by Design builds pools out of Cape Coral, from South East 12th Court in Lee County. The domain is much older, registered in October 2004 and archived from that December, so the name has been in use on the south-west coast for about twenty years while this particular license dates from 2021. Worth asking them how the two fit together; a license can be re-issued or transferred for a lot of innocent reasons. They describe the company as family owned, which no public register settles either way.
Eight service lines, the full spread plus commercial: new pool construction, renovation, repairs, weekly service, spas and hot tubs, water features, outdoor living, and commercial pools. Their site is emphatically about pools — the language runs through every page with no trace of another trade — but there are only seven photographs on it, which is the imbalance to be aware of. A site heavy on words and light on pictures tells you less than the other way round, so ask to see finished work before deciding.
Cape Coral is the base and the licensed address is there, in Lee County. They publish no pages written for individual towns — the area pages on the site read as near-copies of one another — so their range is best treated as a question to ask. Cape Coral, Fort Myers and the surrounding Lee County area are the reasonable assumption. One local number and one email address are published, and their listed hours run right through the day, every day of the week, which for a company of this size probably means a phone that gets answered rather than an office that never closes.
Eighty-six people have reviewed them on Google and the average sits at 4.8 — 0.28 above the 4.52 Florida average, on a count solid enough to carry real weight. The breakdown is the encouraging part: six reviewers name the workmanship first, five the crew's professionalism, and three the communication. Workmanship leading the list is what you want from a builder rather than a service company, because it is the part you cannot inspect until it is finished and expensive to put right. Nothing negative recurred — no complaint theme was raised by even two separate customers. Their site calls them a premier pool builder, which is marketing rather than a standing anyone holds; the 4.8 across 86 customers is the part that stands up.

Yes. Florida certified pool contractor license CPC1459717 is on record in the company's name and shows current, held since October 2021. The license covers construction; insurance is separate and no public register shows it, so ask for a certificate before work starts.
Good, on a count worth trusting. They sit at 4.8 from 86 Google reviews, 0.28 above the 4.52 Florida average. Six reviewers name the workmanship, five the crew's professionalism and three the communication, and no complaint theme was raised by even two separate customers. Workmanship being the leading theme is the useful signal for a new build.
The domain dates from October 2004, so the name has been in use around Cape Coral for about twenty years, while this license was issued in October 2021. Those two dates not matching is common and usually harmless — licenses get re-issued, transferred or replaced — but it is a fair thing to ask them to explain.
Not much of it. There are seven photographs on the site, which is thin for a company with this review record. Given that workmanship is what their customers praise most, it is worth asking to see a finished pool in person or for a proper set of pictures.
