We had an excellent experience with Flagstone! From start to finish, the team was professional, communicative, and truly dedicated to delivering a top-notch result. TJ was fantastic to work with—his creativity and attention to detail during the design process made all the difference. Kim, the owner, was incredibly responsive throughout the entire project. We absolutely love our new pool and couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Highly recommend this company to anyone looking for quality work and outstanding service!

It has been two years since my pool was completed, and I realized when I sold my house that there was never a final inspection. It has been two months since I closed on my house and I still haven’t received all the money from the sale due to the pool, not being inspected. I was promised by Kim more than a month ago that everything was in the works but still nothing and no money. A reputable company does not leave an inspection open two years after completing a project.

My wife and I are absolutely thrilled with Flagstone Pools, from the elegant design, to the easy process, and especially our gorgeous pool. Flagstone Pools is the perfect size for a pool contractor. They are big enough to have the resources and expertise to build a state of the art pool, yet small enough that you get personalized service. The design process was surprisingly easy, and Kim walks you through the paperwork. On site, you deal directly with the owners, Scott, and his son Jake, both of whom respond quickly to texts/emails and are easy to talk to in person. They oversee the whole process from start to finish. About halfway through the project, I had a long list of details that I wanted to discuss with them. I felt I was being a little too picky, but they said, “Please, we want to hear about everything - our goal is to build your dream pool”. They addressed every last detail and indeed, we now have our dream pool that exceeded our expectations! They told us they would complete the pool in 6 to 8 weeks after they got the permit and all of our friends said it would never happen. Well, 6 weeks and 2 days after they started, we had water in the pool. I was pleasantly surprised when Scott personally came to the house time and time again even after the pool was completed to make sure the chemicals in the pool were at the right level, and stayed at the right level. With Flagstone Pools you get personal service, attention to detail, a beautiful design, and a quality pool for a fair price. Contact Flagstone Pools and you can have your own dream pool!

Our experience was such a disappointment. Kim is an extremely poor communicator. Constant excuses throughout the process. She uses subcontractors that don't give you a business card so you have no idea who is doing the work on your pool. We had our pool interior refinished last October. We started noticing issues with the finish in March. She ignored multiple text messages. We finally reached her on the office phone. After a week we called her again and she said the finishing contractor would be out tomorrow. He never showed. We have since tried to contact Kim and she has now ghosted us. We supposedly have a warranty on the finish of our pool, but what good does that do if your contractor refuses to provide customer service after job completion? We have now hired another company to deal with the issues. We would give her negative stars if we could.

What a great group of professionals to deal with. From TJ in sales, to Kim and Scott delivering on the construction, it was an excellent experience. They weren’t the cheapest but from a value and quality perspective, they exceeded our expectations. From permit approval to final inspection it was about 6 weeks. I’m sure they won’t promise that, but that was our experience. There is something to be said for being able to speak with the owner instead of calling a corporate office or dealing with an untrained customer service representative. I would highly recommend Flagstone Pools.

Emailed them to set up an estimate, but never heard back. I am using another company now.

About Flagstone Pools & Pavers, Inc.

Flagstone Pools & Pavers of Clearwater: license CPC1457668 since 2008, pools and hardscaping from one crew, and 4.3 on Google from 23 reviews. Verified.

Who they are

Flagstone Pools & Pavers works out of Clearwater, from US Highway 19 North in Pinellas County. Their Florida certified pool contractor license, CPC1457668, has been on record since April 2008 and shows current — eighteen years, a long run in a trade with a lot of turnover. The company name puts pavers alongside pools, and the site backs that up: hardscaping and outdoor living sit next to the building work rather than being an afterthought.

What they build

Five service lines: new pool construction, renovation, spas and hot tubs, screen enclosures and outdoor living. No weekly service listed, so this is a company that builds and finishes rather than one that maintains. The gallery is the thin part — nine photographs, which is not much for eighteen years of work and the one place the site undersells them. Given that seven reviewers single out the workmanship, ask to see finished jobs in person.

Where they work

Clearwater is the base and the licensed address is on US 19 there, in Pinellas County. They publish pages for four places besides — Dunedin, Odessa, Tampa and Wesley Chapel — but those pages read as near-copies of one another rather than as anything written about the individual towns, so treat them as where they will travel rather than proof of work in each. Pinellas, north into Pasco and across the bay into Hillsborough is the reasonable range. One number and one email address are published, and the office keeps weekday hours, 8am until 5pm.

What the record shows

Twenty-three people have reviewed them on Google and the average sits at 4.3, which is 0.22 below the 4.52 Florida average. On twenty-three reviews a gap that size is not a pattern worth reading much into — it is within the range a couple of difficult jobs produces — and the content is more useful than the number. Seven reviewers name the crew's professionalism and four the workmanship, which is a consistent picture for a company this size, and nothing negative recurred: no complaint theme was raised by even two separate customers. For a builder licensed since 2008, twenty-three reviews also means most of their history is not on that page, so references from older jobs will tell you more than the score does. Their site calls them a premier pool builder, which is marketing rather than a standing anyone holds.

Questions homeowners ask

Answered from this record — not by the business.

Is Flagstone Pools & Pavers licensed?

Yes. Florida certified pool contractor license CPC1457668 is on record in the company's name and shows current, held since April 2008 — eighteen years. The license covers construction; insurance is separate and no public register shows it, so ask for a certificate.

How good are their reviews, really?

Solid, on a small count. They sit at 4.3 from 23 Google reviews, 0.22 under the 4.52 Florida average — a gap small enough on twenty-three reviews that it means little. Seven reviewers name the crew's professionalism and four the workmanship, and no complaint theme reached even two separate customers. Since they have been licensed since 2008, most of their work is not represented there at all, so ask for older references.

Do they do the paving as well as the pool?

That is the point of the name, and the site supports it — hardscaping and outdoor living sit alongside the construction work. If you want deck, coping and surround done by the same crew that builds the pool, that is worth asking about specifically, because it removes the usual handover between two trades.

Can I see examples of their work?

Not many — nine photographs on the site, which is thin for eighteen years of building. Seven reviewers praise the workmanship, so there should be far more to see; ask to visit a finished job or for a proper set of pictures.

What do they build, and when can I reach them?

New pool construction, renovation, spas and hot tubs, screen enclosures and outdoor living — no weekly maintenance. Monday to Friday, 8am until 5pm, on one published number and one email address.
