Amazing experience with the team at Sunshine City. We spent many many hours looking for a reputable pool builder after hearing horror stories from other homeowners, so we knew exactly what we were NOT looking for when hiring for the job. Tom and his crew showed up when they said they would, did what they said they would and completed the job when they said they would (and it looks amazing). Unfortunately this is a rare occurrence these days, thankfully Sunshine City restored our faith. Tom helped us design the pool and layout as well, which helped us tremendously with knowing how it would work for our family. 10/10.
Very good experience, and a few years later am still very pleased with the quality of the pool, and the equipment they selected and installed. Very low maintenance, and economical use of chemicals with a "salt-water" pool. Had a Heat Pump chiller / heater added just after the pool was finished - and so glad I did. Extends the use of the pool, and can easily make it comfortable for folks that want a warmer or cooler pool. Company was right on top of minor issues - had a crack in wall shortly after completion due to settling, and was quickly addressed with epoxy that works underwater, and finished up a week later with lowering the water, and putting on a surface that completely blended in with interior lining.
I have been attempting to maintain my pool alone for the last 2+ years. I've done a decent job, but I recently starting experiencing some issues with my equipment (pump & filter) that I had no idea how to fix. The folks at Sunshine City Pools took the time to come out and meet with me. They taught me about my system, gave me cost effective solutions and made some great recommendations for the future. They absolutely earned my trust and business from here on out! Thank you, Sunshine City Pools!!!

We checked Sunshine City Pools of St. Petersburg against every pool builder in Florida — license CPC1460981, what they build, and where they stand.
Sunshine City Pools of St. Petersburg works in Pinellas County. Their Florida pool contractor license, CPC1460981, has been current since 2025, though the website has been online since 2020 — the trading history runs ahead of the current license registration, which usually means a change of qualifying contractor rather than a new business. They publish a mailbox address rather than a street one, so there is no premises to visit.
Google shows 4.4 from 51 reviews, a little under the Florida average of 4.52. Fifty-one reviews is a real base — enough that the score reflects how the company generally works rather than a few experiences — and the gap to the average is small enough that it says less than the volume does. Six reviewers name the way the company conducted itself, five the quality of the finished build and three its communication. No complaint recurs across enough separate customers to form a theme.
New pool construction and renovation, repair and ongoing service, with spas and outdoor living areas. They publish 24 project photographs, so there is real finished work to judge. The site has not changed since early 2026, so confirm current availability directly — (727) 371-5200.
