I couldn't be happier with my experience with Panhandle Pools! From the initial consultation to the final touches, the team was professional, responsive, and clearly committed to quality. They transformed my backyard into a beautiful oasis, and the craftsmanship is top-notch. I especially appreciated their clear communication and willingness to answer all my questions along the way. Highly recommend to anyone looking to build or renovate a pool! Thank you Ross, Brandon and Nick for making my dream pool a reality.
They don’t do good work. They don’t uphold their end of contract. Please avoid at all costs.
The Panhandle pools team built us an absolutely beautiful pool. Ross, the owner, came through on everything we asked for, overcoming material and worker shortages due to the current situation. We really appreciated Ross honoring all written and verbal price agreements as the price of materials unexpectantly rose as construction started. Panhandle Pools showed great flexibility as we decided to make some changes on the fly, which lead to an amazing water feature wall. As I talked to sub-contractors on the job, I learned how well-liked Ross was in the pool building community…everyone I talked to seemed to love Ross…I’m so happy I stayed local and avoided using one of the large nationwide pool builders in the area that try to upcharge you to death while honestly providing some inferior products, especially when it comes to the pool finish. Trust me, you want the Wet Edge line of finishes that Panhandle Pools offers. Ross is a local pool builder that is all about building you the pool of your dreams, not a large corporation trying to maximize profits. Panhandle will build you a beautiful pool at a fair price. If you are interested in a pool I would 100% recommend giving the Panhandle Pools team your business.
These guys are a joke, installed led lights in my pool and spa charged $700 they worked for about 6 months. I tried for another 6 months to get them to come do the warranty work. I was told everything from we will be there next week to someone else can so the warranty work until finally I was about to sell the house and Ross told me to just give the buyers 1k off the price of the house cause the lights don't work. The work they do is absolutely sub par at best. there's better places out there that won't waste your money. Be warned!!
I am very happy with the work done on my pool and spa design by Ross at Panhandle Pools. Ross changed my pool to a salt water system, and I love it, my only regret is not doing it sooner. I would highly recommend Panhandle Pools to anyone. Very professional, punctual, friendly, knowledgeable ,trustworthy , and has a hardworking team. I will use them again for any future pool issues. Thank You again Ross with Panhandle Pools.
We hired this company to replace the liner in our pool in Santa Rosa Beach in the fall of 2016. Ross came out and gave us a very completive quote and said, "it's going to look like new again". Well, need-less-to say, it doesn't, and never will as long as these clowns our doing the job. The liner lock was put in in pieces and sticks out in many places and the liner itself is coming down in one place right from the start. Despite our complains about this they simply would just blow us off and never address the issues. The biggest problem though and the one I'm filling a complaint with the State of Florida Department of Professional Regulations with is the LEAKS!! From day one, our pool has leaked. Panhandle Pools came out once to address the issue and our complain. They found a leak in the pool light and assured us it was fixed. A few days later the pool was still leaking so we called them again. This time they said that they were just to busy and would not be able to get to us for at least 2 months. They gave us the number to a few other companies and just abandoned us with a leaky pool. After calling them for a week straight and getting the same run around we finally did call another Company. They said the pool was still leaking around the the pool light and after a few visits and $300 claimed it as fixed. It wasn't, and it took our handy man to get into pool and plug the leak in the light with a water proof putty before the leak around the light was fixed. But the pool continued to leak reaching a apex about 2 months ago. We were loosing about an inch a day at this point. So after a numerous calls to Panhandle Pools and being told everything from we were beyond their 30-60 day warranty to they were 2 to 3 months backed up we called Hydro Scout pool leak detection company. They found the 2nd leak that has been plaguing us from the start in about 5 minutes. It was in the steps as a result of incompetent installation by Panhandle Pools. Apparent during installation they failed to secure the liner to the steps correctly, leaving a flap that was causing the leak. Of course, I called Panhandle Pools immediately and once again got the runaround and your past your warrant and we are just to busy to come and look at the problem. Ross sent me again, a list of OTHER companies to come fix a problem that's been going on since the pool was installed. Well, after 2 weeks of getting no where with these clowns, I finally went down to a real pool company, Aqua Pools on Beal. They were behind some too but managed to get us on the schedule in 2/3 weeks. Their tech, Paul, came out and within 30 minutes fixed the problem for around $100. It required a rather large patch which he glued in and then installed it under the step rim and screwed the whole thing down like it was suppose to be from the start. Now the pool does not leak for the first time in 2 years since Panhandle Pools installed the liner. To say that Panhandle Pools is rude is an understatement and one the State does not address in a complaint to them. Panhandle Pool is rude but beyond that they are INCOMPETENT, FRAUDULENT AND WILL ABANDON it's customers in a heartbeat. They've done it us and to others and will continue to do so unless they are stopped. And I'm going to do all I can to stop them by posting this on yelp and google and filing a complaint with the State against Ross's Pool Contracting license for Incompetent, Fraud and Abandonment. I encourage all other people who have have the same problem with Ross and Panhandle Pools to do the same. And if you are seriously looking for a Competent Pool Company keep on looking because Panhandle Pools is not the one for you. Check with Aqua Pools. They did me right even when it wasn't their problem and finally stopped the leak!!! Sincerely, JOSEPH M. BAZARTE OD

Panhandle Pools works from Racetrack Road NE in Fort Walton Beach on Florida pool contractor license CPC1460395 — current since October 2023. The domain dates from July 2023, so the company and the license are the same age: about two years. Their own line is poolscapes for every price range. They build new pools and handle renovation, spas and outdoor living. 18 project photographs are published.
Google has them at 4.3 from 23 reviews — about two tenths below the Florida average of 4.52 across the 346 builders on this directory, on a small record that moves easily.
Five reviewers name their professionalism and three the quality of the build. The fullest positive account describes the owner delivering on what was promised.
On the other side, one review is blunt and unelaborated: that they do not do good work, do not uphold their end of the contract, and should be avoided. It gives no detail to weigh. One other low rating is not a complaint at all — it is a condolence message about a death, posted in the wrong place, and it drags the average down without saying anything about the company. That is worth knowing when you read the 4.3: on 23 reviews, one misplaced message moves the number visibly.
New pool construction, renovation, spas and hot tubs, and outdoor living, from Fort Walton Beach across the western panhandle. They keep no separate town pages, so there is no published service-area list beyond that base.
With 23 reviews and one substantial complaint that gives no detail, references do the work here. Ask for three customers from the last year and call all three; that is a better use of an hour than any further reading. Get the contract in writing with the scope, the exclusions, the payment stages and a completion date — the one complaint on record is about a contract not being upheld, and a specific one is harder to argue about. The license is real and dates from 2023; ask separately for the insurance certificate.

Answered from this record — not by the business.
Yes. Florida pool contractor license CPC1460395 has been current since October 2023. Ask for the insurance certificate separately — Florida publishes nothing that would confirm cover.
4.3 from 23 Google reviews, against a Florida average of 4.52 across the 346 builders on this directory — about two tenths below the middle, on a small sample that moves easily.
Partly. One of the low ratings is a condolence message about someone's death, posted in the wrong place; it says nothing about the company but still counts against the average on a 23-review base. One genuine complaint says they do not do good work and do not uphold their contract, without giving detail.
Ask for three customers from the last year and call all three. On a record this small, three conversations tell you more than the average does.
