We needed some TLC on our pool with work around the pool resetting stone as well as repairing and doing a retile on a water element that had seen better days. Chad and Dustin were and are awesome to work with. Professionalism and communication were very appreciated. Great trip to their shop to review all options available to us. One of their best qualities is the customer service and going the extra mile when they don’t have to. Their behavior and actions speak for their business and inspires trust from the customers who choose to work with them. Delivering a great outcome, on time and at the price they committed. Great job guys! Hope we don’t need you again right away but looking forward to our next experience when we need another upgrade and service. Mark and Jamee

On the positive side, Michelle in the front office has always been kind, responsive, and professional. She has consistently been one of the few reliable points of contact throughout the process. But that's where my positive experience ends. I signed and made my original deposit back in May '23 with expectations around timeline, communication, and quality. I was told I would be swimming by August, but it took 7 months just to complete permitting. Much of that involved resulted from basic oversight of missing information submitted and long delays of revision submissions (by Slusser) which could have saved months. Because of those delays, the project timeline became more complicated and required pauses on my end. While the company was flexible with scheduling, the initial delays played a large role in how things unfolded. Communication changed hands multiple times. I initially worked with Matt (sales), who was presented as my primary point of contact. While personable, several early commitments were not reflected later in the project, and some information changed along the way. Matt was new to Slusser, things were overpromised, and I witnessed internal fighting first-hand. The project was transitioned to Eddie, who brought a much-needed level of clarity, communication, and planning. Unfortunately, Eddie left the company before the project started, and that level of project management did not continue. Kenny (owner) then stepped in as my "go-to" person, but was ultimately passed off to Dustin (son) once we broke ground. From that point forward, communication was inconsistent, and there were frequent gaps in responsiveness. Missed appointments, last-minute schedule changes, and lack of follow-through became common. There were multiple instances where work did not align with what had been discussed, which required additional time, coordination, and in some cases rework to correct. Communication / professionalism was only strong when they wanted payments, but quickly reverted after payment was made. Several execution issues came up: – Travertine installation required rework after missed walkthrough coordination, adding time and cost – The equipment pad was installed higher than expected and without the originally discussed drainage approach – Multiple punch-list items, including drainage-related work, remained open for extended periods Toward the end of the project, I began to delay delay payments while there were still outstanding items & quality concerns. This is when constant threats to not return to work began, and the project stopped multiple times as a result. They eventually stopped altogether and I completed portions of the drainage requirements myself and worked directly with the town to close the permit. The most concerning part has been the pool finish itself. The pool was "finished" about 4 months ago, and the pebble surface is extremely rough. The wall surface can easily scrape or cut skin on contact. During the startup period, there was a gap of over two weeks without maintenance. The pool turned green, the filter became completely clogged with gray, mud-like material and material appeared to be shedding from the walls. Slusser later returned to replace the filter and rebalance the water (only after i submitted a claim with BBB). Dustin apologized but claimed that no structural damage had occurred. Based on other professional feedback, the surface finish has lost its structural integrity and has remained extremely rough. There have been multiple instances where guests experienced scraped knees, heels, and children had the bottoms of their feet cut to the point of bleeding. This is a safety concern for normal use of the pool. I am asking Slusser to return and address the integrity and safety of the pool finish. If there is any concern for the safety of the families and children using these pools, this should be resolved. If you are considering working with this company: – Get everything in writing – Monitor progress closely – Do not rely solely on verbal commitments

They are the best pool company in town. They built a pool many years ago and I got them back to remodel another pool. They did a fabulous job. It took a little longer than I expected, but there was a glitch in the system and we didn’t get our approval right away. Wouldn’t deal with any other pool company. I’ve known Kenny for many many years and his son Dustin is also great easy to work with honest hard-working guys

If there was a 10 star, I would leave this company a 10 star. Kenny Slusser came highly recommended by a designer in Naples Florida. My wife insisted that we give Slusser pools a try because of the high recommendation from the designer. We set up an appointment for the next day and Kenny, Chad and their foreman showed up five minutes before their scheduled time. So far, I was impressed, but very leery based on my past experiences with contractors. We went over our vision for our renovation project for our pool. Kenny and Chad made some great suggestions and tweaked our design for the better. It was a Friday when we finalized the design and gave our initial deposit. I asked a question that I have asked dozens of contractors in the past. When can you start and when will you Finish. Kenny told me they would start on Monday and be done in 10 days. I chuckled to my wife and said let’s see if they can finish in a Month. Based on the scope of work, a month would be impressive to me. He reassured us that they would be finished in 10 days. Monday morning Kenny and the crew showed up with approximately 12 guys. They started working first thing in the morning and finished working just before dark. It was obvious to me that his crew was well trained, and knew exactly what they were doing. During the whole process, Kenny answered his phone with any questions that I had and responded to my every text. The only thing that Kenny lied about was the timing of the pool. He told me 10 days and they were finished in 7 days. I am 57 years old and have dealt with contractors my entire Life. I have never been so impressed with a company, their attention to detail, their communication, and the fact that they beat their deadline. I can’t say enough good things about Kenny and Chad from Slusser pools. Amazing experience, from an extremely satisfied customer!!!!

I gave Slusser a top rating of 10++. Here’s why: two years ago they installed a pool for me. When Hurricane Milton approached, Dustin Slusser, unsolicited, arrived at my home with his team to disconnect my new pool heater and relocate it to his shop for safe keeping. I called to thank him and asked if he knew where I could get sand for sandbags as my home was in an evacuation zone. He replied, “ l’ll send my men over with all the sand you’ll need”. Soon after, 3 men arrived with a truckload of sand, helped us unload it, and assisted with filling the bags. After the storm, they reinstalled the heater, saving us thousands of dollars - all free of charge. They are THE BEST.

The whole process of having a pool built can become overwhelming. Slusser pools team made everything easy. From designing and choosing the right materials they were there to help us make the most important decisions. A special thanks to Michelle for always being there to answer questions and follow up with all the fine details. We love our pool and are so happy we decided to use Slusser pools!!!

About Slusser Services LLC

We checked Slusser Services of Naples against every pool builder in Florida — license CPC1456712, what they build, and where they stand.

Who they are

Slusser Services works from Progress Avenue in Naples, Collier County. Their Florida pool contractor license, CPC1456712, has been current since 2003 — twenty-three years unbroken — and the license is qualified in the family name the company trades under. The site was updated yesterday.

What homeowners say

Google shows 4.7 from 159 reviews, against a Florida average of 4.52. That is above average on one of the larger records here, and volume matters: a rating built from 159 jobs reflects the long run rather than a recent streak. Four reviewers name the way the crew conducted itself and three the quality of the finished build. No complaint recurs across enough separate customers to form a theme.

What they build

New pool construction, renovation, repair and ongoing service, with spas, water features and outdoor living work. They publish fewer project photographs than most, so ask to see a portfolio when you call (239) 263-0720 — twenty-three years of work will not all be on the website.
