I absolutely loved working with Stuart and the team at Swim State from start to finish, they were professional, reliable, and easy to work with. They have a vast range of selections for materials and the knowledge to guide and advise you in the right direction for products. They brought my vision to life and exceeded my expectations. I couldn’t be happier with my beautiful pool and highly recommend them!
The main reason I fired them today is that our dogs won't go near Reggie. I set up a camera this morning in anticipation of his visit. Reggie was just off screen so I could not see what happened but the one dog that was watching him from the opposite side of the pool suddenly ducked, then ran like hell and hid behind a table - something sure spooked him. On top of that they charged my wife $750 to clear up our small 10,000 gallon pool and it still took them two weeks. In light of all this, it's time to part ways. On the bright side, it's been about a month and our pool is now crystal clear, but we'll find someone else to keep it that way.
Really blown away by how great our experience was. Stuart worked within our budget, worked hard to meet our deadlines, had really good advice when we requested weird things. Also, when some problems arose or we wanted things a bit different he took care of fixing things - it just happened like we requested and we are 100% satisfied…he just made it really easy to work with him. Would highly recommend if you want amazing results with no headache.
While everything started off fine with Swim State, it ended very poorly. We started using them when they took over the company that we had before. After reaching out to some other pool companies, we reached out to Stuart to see if he would decrease the monthly fee to be more in line with the other companies (we actually asked him to come down halfway, not even all the way to what the other companies were charging). Instead of talking to us directly, he relayed information through the technician and would only reduce $5 a month. It was still almost $40 a month more than the other quotes I had. Second, a part on the filter housing ended up breaking and leaked. They didn't notice it for 2 weeks until I said something and then it still took them 2 weeks and a reminder from me to replace the part. The tech didn't even know it was broken and that he was supposed to fix it. We informed Swim State we were stopping service with them at the end of the month around the middle of May and they continued to service through the end of the month. A few days after the technician came last week algae formed in the pool. The new company is dealing with the algae however, it's costing us extra in startup because Swim State failed to maintain the pool properly through the end. Overall we ended up being very disappointed with them and would recommend looking elsewhere.
Stuart and his crew installed our new pool pump and they were excellent to work with! They showed up a day early so we could enjoy our pool sooner than later! They were very precessional and installation was fast. I am very pleased with our new set up and our pool looks amazing! Great company with excellent communication you can count on! Thank you, Swim State!
I had a lot of issues with other pool cleaning companies not doing what I contracted them for. Then I hired Stuart and Swim State pool service. They are more than a pool cleaning service! Stuart helps me with most any need I have relating to my pool and is always reasonably priced. I highly recommend them if you need a company that's reliable and does a great job. A ++++

We checked Swim State Pool Service of Lake Butler against every pool builder in Florida — license CPC1460784, what they build, and where they stand.
Swim State Pool Service works from County Road 18A in Lake Butler, north-central Florida, and publishes work across the Gainesville area. Two Florida pool contractor licenses are on record in the company's name — CPC1460784, current since 2024, and CPC1461266 since 2025 — and the website has been online since 2022. A second qualified contractor added inside a year is the pattern of a company taking on more than one person can sign for.
Google shows 4.9 from 61 reviews, well above the Florida average of 4.52. Sixty-one reviews is a substantial base for a company this size, and a score that high across it is a real pattern rather than a good run — this is one of the stronger review records on this site relative to how long the company has been licensed. Six reviewers name the way the company conducted itself and three the quality of the finished work. Nothing recurs on the other side.
New pool construction and renovation, repair and ongoing maintenance, with spas and outdoor living areas — service work sits alongside building rather than behind it, which matters if you want the same company to look after the pool afterwards. They publish only 2 project photographs, so ask to see recent work when you call — (352) 318-9782.
