We recently worked with Patio Pools for a full-service pool renovation, including design, demolition of our old pool, and construction of our new pool & spa, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience. From start to finish, their professionalism, responsiveness, and care were exceptional. A special shout-out to Matthew Messer—an outstanding partner throughout the entire process. Matthew was always readily available, incredibly communicative, and truly dedicated to helping us design exactly the right pool to fit our needs and preferences. His expertise and genuine commitment made a world of difference. The pool & spa construction itself took about 8 weeks, and that timeline held steady even though it spanned the holidays. The team worked efficiently without sacrificing quality, and I appreciated how transparent they were about progress and any adjustments along the way. When the project was finished, the pool and spa turned out absolutely beautiful. We are thrilled with the final product and the overall result surpassed our expectations. The level of detail and care Patio Pools put into every aspect—design, installation, and finish—truly shines. If you’re looking for a company to build or renovate a pool, I highly recommend Patio Pools. Their level of detail and care cannot be overstated and turns what can be a difficult process into a seamless and pleasant experience. It’s absolutely worth paying for this level of service—you won’t regret it!

If I could leave zero stars, I would. Working with Patio Pools has been a horrible experience. Their work was significantly delayed without reasonable excuse despite promises that it would be completed quickly (seven months later we are still trying to have things completed), our pavers sunk in causing my toddler to almost have a serious injury, they left waste in our yard for months on end making our property an eye sore, they destroyed our personal property and refuse to reimburse us for their damage, and their back office has treated us with complete disrespect. Please feel free to reach out to me directly for more information. I do not want any other consumers to fall victim to this company the way we did. **UPDATE** Patio Pools response below is shockingly misleading and quite frankly untrue, particularly considering the comment about payments. Not a single payment was late and every payment was made within 48 hours of any notice or demand (they will text you and expect money immediately). For example, they harassed me for money while I was in the hospital with pregnancy complications and we still paid them immediately to avoid any further delays. With respect to the timeline, we signed our contract on 4/2/24, the pool was not filled with water until 8/9/24 (with the subcontractors admitting there were many mistakes made on our project) and our fence is still not fixed with us now being in January 2025! I beg anyone who wants to be treated properly, please stay far away from this company, particularly their employees Matt and Gina who are mean-spirited and dishonest. I would provide a google link with our documentation of their bad faith, dishonesty and damage to our property, but it too extensive and voluminous. I am more than happy to provide if contacted personally.

We had a great experience working with Patio Pools from start to finish. Communication was excellent throughout the entire process — we always knew what the next step would be and what to expect, which made everything feel smooth and well organized. They finished the project close to the timeline we were originally given and handled all permits, which made the process much easier for us. The design appointment was also a great experience — they really listened to what we wanted and helped bring our ideas to life. Anytime we had questions or concerns, the team was very responsive and took the time to explain things clearly. Overall, we’re very happy with the finished pool and would definitely recommend Patio Pools to anyone considering a pool project.

RUN 🏃🏽 RUN 🏃🏽RUN from this company. Constant delays, pavers sinking not repaired, thousands of dollars in destroyed property that they refuse to pay for, for their VP not knowing their contracts that they agreed to and refusing to honor it. And then there’s their project manager Matt bullying my high risk pregnant daughter and calling my daughter & son in law liars. This is a company that is very unethical that if we didn’t threatened legal action there wouldn’t have had a resolution to our major problems. RUN 🏃🏽 RUN 🏃🏽 RUN 🏃🏽

Five-Star Experience with Patio Pools We couldn't be more thrilled with the service and experience we had with Patio Pools. As a cautious homeowner, I had concerns given all the stories you hear about pool companies not finishing jobs. However, Matt, the salesperson, was a breath of fresh air. He wasn’t pushy at all and took the time to walk my wife and me through every step of the process. He made thoughtful recommendations and provided a variety of options to suit our needs. After signing on, Patio Pools delivered on everything they promised, even completing the pool within 8 weeks—during Hurricane Milton and Helene no less! What truly sets Patio Pools apart is their ongoing commitment to their customers. Even after the pool was finished, Matt and his team were there to help with anything we needed. If you’re considering building a pool, we highly recommend giving Patio Pools a call. They not only deliver on their promises, but they do so at a fair price. Tyler & Kimi Rosberg

About Patio Pools Inc

Patio Pools of Tampa: Florida licensed since 2017 with a business dating to 1996, 4.1 from 157 Google reviews, with two reports of property damage refused.

Who they are

Patio Pools works out of Gunn Highway in Tampa and holds Florida contractor license CPC1458992, current since May 2017 and running to 2028. The business is considerably older than that license — their web presence dates to 1996 — and a license can be re-issued or transferred for entirely ordinary reasons, so read this as a long-established Tampa firm rather than a recent arrival. They describe themselves as family owned and family run, which no public record settles.

What they build

New pool construction, renovation, repairs, servicing, spas, water features and outdoor living. Renovation is well represented in the accounts and not just as a line on a page: one customer describes a full-service job covering design, demolition of the old pool and construction of a new pool and spa. Another notes the pool sales side, which is a distinct part of the business. Where the good accounts agree is on knowing what comes next — several describe always being told what the following step was and what to expect.

Where they work

Tampa and the surrounding area. They publish a page for Tampa itself but nothing for individual outlying towns, so there is no documented service area beyond that and it is worth confirming your own address by phone. The site was updated in March 2026 and reviews continue to arrive, the most recent within weeks of this profile being built.

What the record shows

Google has them at 4.1 from 157 reviews. That sits below the 4.52 average across Florida's builders, and 157 reviews is a large enough base that the figure is a record rather than a run of luck — so it is worth understanding what pulls it down, because the good accounts are genuinely good. Six customers name their professionalism and three the build quality, with several describing jobs finished inside a few months and communication that stayed ahead of them. Against that, two separate customers describe the same thing in specific terms, and it is not about the pool: property damage during the work and a refusal to pay for it. One describes materials left in the yard for months and personal property destroyed with no reimbursement offered; the other describes thousands of dollars of destroyed property they were refused payment for, alongside pavers that sank and were not repaired, and a contract term the company declined to honour. Both also describe long delays — one still chasing completion seven months on. Two accounts out of a hundred and fifty-seven is a small proportion, and the great majority of customers here are happy. But those two agree with each other on a specific and expensive failure, which is more useful than a scattering of unrelated grumbles. The practical response is narrow and cheap: before work starts, get the damage and remediation terms in writing — what happens if property is damaged, who assesses it, and how long the company has to make it good — and agree a completion date with what happens if it slips. That addresses both of the complaints on this record.

Questions homeowners ask

Answered from this record — not by the business.

Is Patio Pools licensed?

Yes. Florida contractor license CPC1458992 has been current since May 2017 and runs to August 2028. The business itself is older — their web presence dates to 1996 — and a license can be re-issued for ordinary reasons.

What do the reviews actually say?

4.1 from 157 reviews on Google, below the 4.52 Florida average but on a base large enough to be a real record. Six customers name their professionalism and three the build quality, with several describing jobs completed in a few months and communication that stayed ahead of them.

What are the complaints about?

Property damage, from two separate customers who agree closely. One describes materials left in the yard for months and personal property destroyed with no reimbursement; the other thousands of dollars of destroyed property they were refused payment for, plus pavers that sank and were not repaired and a contract term not honoured. Both describe long delays as well.

What should I agree before they start?

The damage and remediation terms, in writing: what happens if property is damaged, who assesses it, and how long they have to put it right. Then a completion date and what follows if it slips. Those two things cover both complaints on this record.

Do they do renovation as well as new pools?

Yes, and it is well represented — one customer describes design, demolition of an old pool and construction of a new pool and spa as a single job. Repairs, servicing, spas, water features and outdoor living are also on the list.

Which areas do they cover?

Tampa and the surrounding area. They publish a page for Tampa but nothing for individual outlying towns, so confirm your own address by phone.
