We had an incredible experience from start to finish! From the initial design phase with Eric's patience, transparency, and recommendations- to Eddie’s outstanding leadership, energy, and attention to EVERY detail of the build process, and finally Sean guiding us through startup and pool school—every step exceeded our expectations. After a nightmare pool build several years ago in another state that dragged on for 5 months, we were dreading going through it again. But Tampa Bay Pools completely changed our perspective. With Eddie leading the way, our project was completed in just 7 weeks to the day—from dig to swim! Their scheduling process is the most streamlined we’ve ever seen. Every step happened exactly when they said it would, often ahead of schedule. We were given clear, detailed materials upfront, and the project unfolded exactly as described. Every vendor that came out was exceptional, and the job site was consistently left spotless. Even our neighbors commented on how clean everything always was! We especially appreciated the attention to detail—like making sure our makeshift gate panel was securely closed each day to keep our dogs safe- without us even asking! We’re beyond thrilled with both the process and the final result. The entire team was phenomenal, and we can’t recommend Tampa Bay Pools enough!

We had an outstanding experience working with Tampa Bay Pools, and we especially want to recognize our construction manager, Rob, for his exceptional work. From start to finish, Rob made the entire pool-building process smooth and stress-free. He followed up on every detail, kept us updated at every stage, and ensured the schedule stayed consistently ahead of plan. Every time Rob came on-site, he took the time to meet with us personally, review the progress, share the latest updates, and patiently answer all of our questions. The quality of the pool exceeded our expectations — everything was done with great attention to detail and craftsmanship. The price was very fair for the level of quality and service we received, and we truly feel that we got outstanding value for our investment. Rob’s professionalism, communication, and dedication stood out throughout the entire project. We highly recommend Tampa Bay Pools to anyone considering a new pool. Thanks to Rob and the entire team, what could have been a stressful process turned into an enjoyable experience, and we’re thrilled with the final result. Also, Tampa Bay pool offered Pool School where they trained us how to maintain the pool and use the equipment. We are super happy with all of their work and services.

We just finished our pool with Tampa Bay Pools and could not be any more pleased with the finished product! Our process started with Juli Capella who was excellent to work with from the sales team. Juli took the time to listen to our thoughts and see our vision. This allowed us to work together to design the best pool, spa, deck and bird cage. Juli was great to work with and set very clear expectations for the process and was engaged and available after we signed. We then started to work with Rob Recio who was our superintendent and he was awesome too! Rob set clear expectations as well, communicated often with status updates and what was happening next. Rob was very responsive and available for questions through the entire build. Lastly, I also want to thank and recognize Jacob who did our pool startup and final deck washing. He was very detailed and thorough in both of those tasks and available for questions as well. It is great to see someone take such pride in their work and deliver a great experience for the customer. We are very pleased with our new pool, spa, deck and bird cage and had a 5 Star experience with Tampa Bay Pools! We just fully wrapped up the 5 Star Experience with a fantastic Pool School session with Sean!

We had such a great experience with Tampa Bay Pools! The process was very smooth and went a lot quicker than I expected. Any questions or concerns we had always got an answer and resolved. Tim our designer was fantastic and exceeded our expectations to accommodate exactly what we wanted and put us in the right direction of pros and cons to things we didn’t know. Brandon who took care of us through the whole process was extremely accommodating and had great communication whenever we needed anything. He was always there when we had questions at anytime and so friendly!! Any concerns he took care of immediately as well. Went above and beyond to the detail and clean up as well! If you get your pool done with the company ask for Brandon!! 10/10. We had Jacob for our pool school and was great & informative.

Reply to: Tampa Bay Owner: Sir, It would be in your best interest to take a serious look and inquire "HOW" after a pool customer contracts with your company....they are treated. This has been a miserable experience from the minute we signed the contract. They delayed the start by not being able to provide an itemized list of work to be completed for our bank (have to admit they did finally comply after several conference calls and month later). We've been insulted by the superintendent, who claims we are needy because we asked questions about the process and quality of work. Before deciding to go with Tampa Bay Pools we spoke with all of our neighbors and watched several pools be built by other contractors within our development. We've never witnessed as much garbage being left on anyone’s property as Tampa Bay Pools has strewn across our entire back and front yard. When asked the superintendent stated leave it there. Its a construction site the HOA can't do anything about it. This was a complete disregard for our preference or concern for keeping our lawn and property looking respectful. We signed a contract with them for 4 draws, we signed a loan with our bank for 4 draws at the request of Tampa Bay Pools and Tampa Bay Pools is now requesting to be paid 5 - 6 times which the inspections have to be paid for. Each time they have requested a draw we have had to spend weeks pointing out sub-par work done by sub contractors who are unsupervised. Even still we complied with their requests and now they have still not finished and they are out of draws/inspections. So we've attempted to discuss this with the owners and managers to no avail. They will not return our emails, texts or any other forms of communication. Unfortunately we are now held hostage with an unfinished pool with a yard full of garbage. If you are considering a pool contractor please make sure they have an adequate number of employees to service how many jobs they have, they have no liquidity issues, check all ratings and reviews and if nothing else make sure clean up, draws and inspections is spelled out in the contract who is paying for any extra and ensure they have some kind of communication plan because Tampa Bay Pools couldn’t pass any of these prerequisites. Customer service is non-existent, communication is lacking, absolutely no quality control and you have to spend more time supervising the superintendents than enjoying the process and what should become your backyard paradise.

Company Snapshot

Water Pools Tampa LLC, doing business as Tampa Bay Pools, holds an active Florida certified pool/spa contractor license, CPC1459458, under qualifier Corey Matthew Moreno, licensed since 2020 and verified current with the DBPR. The company is based in Tampa.

Specialties & Service Area

County permit records show a footprint centered on Hillsborough County (7 tracked permits) but reaching into Pasco (4), Polk (2), Hernando (1), and Sarasota (1) counties as well. Recent pulls include a $100,000 pool on Mimosa Circle in Sarasota County, a $93,600 in-ground fiberglass pool on Graybrook Drive in Pasco County, a $50,400 build on Palmeras Court in Hillsborough, a $73,908 new pool on Cordgrass Way in Polk County, and a $52,608 fiberglass pool on Bellington Boulevard back in Pasco — a spread that points to a builder comfortable working well outside its home county. Across a public permit record covering 2022 through 2025, the typical project value lands around $47,000. Praise tags from customers mention communication most often, followed by recommend, design, and crew, with on-time delivery and cleanliness also noted — all pointing to a company customers feel keeps them informed during the build.

Licensing & Track Record

The license is active and DBPR-verified, and the public permit record is a substantial one for a Tampa Bay builder, spanning 2022 through 2025 with steady year-over-year volume.

What Customers Say

The company carries a 5-star average from 68 Google reviews, and detailed accounts back it up — Becky O described a 7-week build "from dig to swim" after a bad experience with a different builder elsewhere, crediting construction manager Eddie's leadership and a schedule that stayed ahead of plan, while Genc Ymeri singled out construction manager Rob for consistent updates and an active on-site presence. But the star rating doesn't tell the whole story: "rude" is a recurring theme flagged across seven separate negative reviews and "delays/stalling" across four more, including one lengthy account from a customer identifying as a current, still-in-progress client who said that raising concerns about workmanship led to further delays on their build rather than resolution, and who listed a series of specific complaints about office communication, unaddressed pricing changes, and site cleanup. Quality issues and unresponsiveness show up as smaller but real secondary themes in the complaint data.

Bottom Line

Tampa Bay Pools combines an actively licensed, high-volume permit record with a strong average rating and specific, positive accounts of well-run builds — but also a real and recurring pattern of complaints about rudeness and delays serious enough to weigh alongside the good reviews, not dismiss outright.
