The best and the worst from each platform. Both, always.
I had the pleasure of working with Tara from Anthony & Sylvan for my pool school session, and I can’t recommend her highly enough. As a first-time pool owner, I was pretty overwhelmed by everything involved in maintenance — but Tara changed that in a single morning. She walked me through the entire system step by step: the equipment, water chemistry, cleaning routines, and everything I need to know to keep my pool in great shape year-round. She was patient, thorough, and clearly knows her stuff. She didn’t just tell me what to do — she explained why, which made everything click. By the end of the session, I went from intimidated to genuinely confident in maintaining my pool on my own. Tara is a true professional and a real asset to the Anthony & Sylvan team. If you’re getting pool school, hope you get Tara!
We spent over $100k and received bad quality. Concrete start cracking after 1 year. Spa is leaking after 2 years, (covered by warranty, but repairs is visible). Was a great people, until we signed contract. I tried to change the construction manager, but without success.
We wanted to create an outdoor oasis for our family — a true 'spot' to hang out at home. Tim (sales) and Ray (project manager) took our vision and turned it into reality. It's now our favorite place to be! I'd highly recommend the team at Anthony & Sylvan if you're considering a pool.
5 star service from Steven Rucker from Anthony Sylvan. We had an algae issue and Steven was super helpful in cleaning all equipment, filters and pool and was very knowledgeable about many questions of maintenance that were asked of him. Pool was clear blue in no time and we really appreciate his help l!

Anthony & Sylvan: a national builder licensed in Florida since 2022, rated 4.9 from 1,283 Google reviews, known for its structured pool school handover.
Anthony & Sylvan is the largest operation on this list by a wide margin, and it is not a Florida company that grew — it is a national builder working here. Their Florida contractor license, CPC1459777, has been current since January 2022, while the business itself is far older; their web presence dates to 1999. The address on file is on Imeson Park Boulevard in Jacksonville, though the record also carries a Charlotte reference and they publish five telephone numbers across several states, so establish which branch would actually build your pool. They describe themselves as family-owned, which for a company of this size is not something the public record settles.
New pool construction, renovation, repairs, servicing, spas, water features and outdoor living. What genuinely distinguishes them in the reviews is not the building but the handover: customers repeatedly describe a structured session — they call it pool school — where someone walks a new owner through the equipment and the chemistry until they actually understand it. One first-time owner describes arriving overwhelmed and leaving confident. Almost no builder on this list has a named, repeatable handover process, and if you have never owned a pool it is worth more than most of the things builders advertise.
Jacksonville and, on the evidence of their phone numbers, several other states. They publish area pages, but those pages are near-copies of one another rather than written for each place, so treat the list as where they will travel rather than as evidence of a local presence. They also publish a substantial set of photographs of their own work.
Google has them at 4.9 from 1,283 reviews. That is by far the largest review base on this list and it sits well above the 4.52 average across Florida's builders — and the size is the point. A 4.9 on twelve reviews tells you very little; a 4.9 on more than a thousand is the strongest single piece of evidence any builder here offers, because it cannot be arranged. Six customers name their professionalism, and the recurring specifics are the handover, the sales process and the project management each being handled by someone whose job that is. There is one negative account and it is worth reading closely rather than dismissing, because of what it confirms. A customer who spent over a hundred thousand dollars describes concrete cracking after a year and the spa leaking after two — and says the spa was covered by the warranty, with the repair carried out but visible. So the complaint is about the durability of the finish and the cosmetic result of the repair, not about a warranty that was refused. They advertise a lifetime structural warranty, which no public register can confirm; that one account is the closest thing to evidence on this profile that their warranty actually functions, and it points the right way. What to do with all this: on a record this size the ordinary cautions carry less weight than usual, so spend your questions on the things scale does not fix. Ask which branch and which crew, get the warranty document itself rather than the summary, and ask what counts as a cosmetic versus a structural defect — because that distinction is exactly where the one complaint here landed.

Answered from this record — not by the business.
Yes. Florida contractor license CPC1459777 has been current since January 2022, though the business itself is far older and national.
4.9 from 1,283 reviews on Google — by far the largest base here and well above the 4.52 Florida average. The size matters: a 4.9 on twelve reviews means little, a 4.9 on more than a thousand cannot be arranged. Customers repeatedly single out the structured handover session they call pool school.
A handover session where someone walks a new owner through the equipment and the water chemistry until they understand it. Customers name it repeatedly, including a first-time owner who describes arriving overwhelmed and leaving confident. Almost no other builder here has a named, repeatable handover process.
One account. A customer who spent over a hundred thousand dollars describes concrete cracking after a year and the spa leaking after two — and says the spa was covered by the warranty, with the repair done but visible. So it is about the durability of the finish and the look of the repair, not a warranty that was refused.
They advertise one, and no public register confirms warranty terms. The single negative account describes a spa repair being covered, which is the closest thing to evidence here that the warranty functions. Ask for the warranty document itself, and ask what counts as cosmetic versus structural — that is exactly where that complaint landed.
Worth establishing. The address on file is in Jacksonville, the record also carries a Charlotte reference, and they publish five telephone numbers across several states. Their area pages are near-copies of one another, so ask directly which branch and which crew.
