The best and the worst from each platform. Both, always.
The team here always seems to be friendly to me. They seem to be able to get any parts or chemicals you may need.
Do not hire this company to clean your residence or personal pool. After many complaints of pool not being cleaned their response was to dump an unhealthy amount of chlorine in the pool. It was shut down by the FL Health Department. The problem is the filter is dirty and the company spends 0 time cleaning the inside and bottom of pool. This company will certainly take your money with the appearance of providing a service.
Our pool built by Superior Pools, went out of warranty at 3 years. Two weeks after the three years everything started breaking. We called them and they told us the no longer do service. Really? Anyway, glad we found Galaxy! We needed two Pentair parts replaced. The price, service and professionalism was exemplary. For service, I would ignore the negative comments. They did great by us.
Used them for a little over 2 years. Our usual pool guy moved and they sent someone new who only test the pool ,dumps chemicals in and is out of there in 4 min flat. Big hurry doesn't clean the side of the pool as advertised or like our other pool guy did. Never checks anything else. Last week my husband was there and the guy was going to do the same as usual and he saw my husband standing there watching so he went back out to the car and got the brush and brushed the sides 1st time. When I called to complain the first time the man that answered the phones response was " no one else has complained". At that time I told him about our pool light not working they had just replaced it 10 months ago. Never sent anyone about 3 weeks went by and my husband called our builder asking about the light ( we have been in the house a little over 2 years) and this will be the 2nd light change. Well all I can think is the builder called the pool company and like magic someone appeared. So the guy on the phone never passed the message on. Also prior to this we had a problem with the pressure to the spas it took Galaxy pools 2 months to come out. We will try another pool service.
We've used Galaxy Pools since 1998. They installed our pool then and we used them when we remodeled the pool in 2012. We've always been happy with the service they provide. The service tech, Neuf, comes every Thursday. Couldn't ask for a better pool cleaner or nicer fellow.
I have been with Galaxy pool for around 2 yrs, I had to change service because my pool went from looking great in the beginning to not so good today! I had cancelled service with the office and a few days later they showed up anyway when I was not home! I had already hired another pool company and met with them at my home and they tested the water and the chlorine level was at zero! I wanted to be sure that my chlorine level was at the zero mark like the new company said so I took a sample to pinch a penny and had them test it and it had almost no chlorine in the pool! I don't mind paying for a service but I do mind when I am paying for something and not receiving an honest service! Anyone using Galaxy, I would highly suggest having your water tested at least once every 2 weeks so you wont have problems down the road!
Learn everything about Galaxy Pools of Sarasota — their reviews, licenses CPC056697 and CPC1457445, and what customers report! Only at FloridaPoolz.
Galaxy Pools works from Whitfield Park Avenue in Sarasota, on two current Florida pool contractor licenses — CPC056697, held since August 1993, and CPC1457445 since April 2007. Thirty-three years on the state's register is among the longest records on this list, and it is the strongest thing here by some distance. They build new pools and handle renovation, repair, servicing and spas.
Google has them at 2.9 from 19 reviews. The Florida average across the 346 builders on this directory is 4.52, which puts Galaxy more than a point and a half below the middle. Nineteen reviews is a modest record — not the hundreds that would make a low score unarguable — but ten of the nineteen are one- or two-star, and that ratio is not something a few difficult customers produce. It is the shape of a business that is failing a substantial minority of the people who hire it.
The worst account is nine words long and needs no interpretation: a customer says the company holds thirty thousand dollars of their money and that six weeks later there is no pool.
There are satisfied customers here too, and one of the better accounts is instructive: it comes from someone whose pool was built by a different company entirely and who called Galaxy in when everything started failing just after that warranty expired. Repair and rescue work appears to be where their happier customers are.
New pool construction, renovation, repair, routine servicing and spas, from Sarasota. Two licenses, the older running continuously since 1993.
On this record, a new-build contract needs protections most homeowners never think to ask for. Never pay a deposit that is not tied to a permit being filed by a named date, refundable in full if it is not. Tie every subsequent payment to an inspected stage, not to a calendar date. Get a completion date with a consequence attached. Ask for three customers whose pools were finished in the last year and call all three. If any of that is refused, you have learned what you needed to know. The licenses are real and long-standing, and a license says nothing about how a job is run.

On 19 reviews it is a serious signal. The Florida average across the 346 builders on this directory is 4.52, so they sit more than a point and a half below the middle — and ten of the nineteen reviews are one or two stars. That ratio is not what a couple of difficult customers produce.
Yes, twice: CPC056697 since August 1993 and CPC1457445 since April 2007, both current. Thirty-three years of unbroken licensing is the strongest fact on their record. A license says nothing about how a job is run, and nothing about insurance — ask for that certificate separately.
A customer states that the company holds thirty thousand dollars of their money and that six weeks later there is no pool.
Their better reviews lean towards repair and rescue work rather than new builds. One of the strongest comes from a customer whose pool was built by another company and began failing just after that warranty ran out; Galaxy took it on.
A deposit tied to a permit being filed by a named date and fully refundable if it is not; every later payment tied to an inspected stage rather than a date; a completion date with a consequence; and three customers from the last year that you call yourself.
