We had a great experience with Cody. Steve in the design center was great, would highly recommend asking for him when scheduling an appointment. He took his time and we didn’t feel rushed or pressured at all. Our project manager, Elon, was phenomenal. He kept in constant contact with us so we always knew what was going on for the week and what was coming up next. He would promptly answer texts on any questions we had. All of the contractors were also very friendly. We started the build right before hurricane Milton and they did everything possible to prevent the hole from collapsing. Start to finish was super quick, maybe 3 months but would have been sooner if we didn’t have planned weeks away for vacations. We’ve contracted warranty a few times since completion. They always respond within a few hours and get someone scheduled to come out within days. Nothing major has come up, just minor things like decking settling or cleaning the tiles. We haven’t run into any major issues on anything yet but I know they’d take care of it if we did. The quality is great. We noticed that their gunite is about 3 inches thicker than other pool builders. They may be a little more expensive, but I think it’s worth it.
After researching companies & reading many, many reviews, we went with Cody Pools. From the beginning, our project manager Steve was amazing! You can tell he is honest, upfront, definitely patient and professional! Total length of project was 11 weeks. He was involved in every step and made weekly visits to check his crews progress! Mark was also great in teaching us “pool school” to learn about how to treat the water and keep chemicals at proper levels! Even diving in after pool was filled to make sure pool lines were clean of debris and made sure pump system was working properly! After pool completion, the same crew cleaned the area between pool and fence to lay turf for our dogs! As you can see from photos, it is a beautiful site! This is DEFINITELY an investment in which you shouldn’t take lightly and your installer is the key! So glad I went with Cody pools and cannot say enough of what a blessing it was to have Steve overlook our project literally from start to finish!
My husband Rich and I just moved from Long Island, New York to our new home in Palmetto Florida. Our Green Home (as we call her) had a built-in pool. We're pool people, but the pool needed a lot of TLC. We were blessed! Right from the start, Matt Stratton supported us as their Salesmen......it was quite a process. Resurfacing TEAM, The Tile TEAM, the Water Blast Team and the Finishing Team. Amanda came to educate us on pool care and what we needed to do to create a long lasting life for our pool. Everyone was extremely professional and proficient in their area of expertise! Special shout out to RJ who managed the entire process. We now have a beautiful new pool .....one of our neighbors came by and said "it's about time that pool get taken care of"......we are so grateful for the Cody Team and highly recommend them! We recently completed a pool remodel with Cody Pools and are absolutely thrilled with the results! The entire process—from demo to final touches—took about 5 weeks, and the transformation is stunning. The overall experience was smooth, professional, and exceeded our expectations. Here’s what we had done: - Pool resurfaced in Cody Blue with shimmering Sea Glass - Waterline tile replaced with Padre 2 glass tile from Nobile Tile - Deck and coping redone in Ivory Travertine with a French pattern - Pool deck extended 12 feet into the yard with a new deco drain Every crew member we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and respectful. The attention to detail and craftsmanship really show in the final product. We’re proud to recommend Cody Pools to friends and family—thank you for helping us bring our vision to life! I would not recommend Cody Pools to anyone in the market to get a pool. We have had a horrible experience with them. One thing we made clear from the beginning was that we just wanted communication, we understand that things can change for scheduling and there can be delays but just let us know. If you tell us that someone is coming on a certain day and that changes, a quick text to let us know goes a long way. We have 3 big dogs and we spent well over $1000 on doggie daycare costs on days where we were told someone was coming and no one would show up and no one let us know that there was a delay. Overall the communication sucked and still does to this day. Things started off ok with our sales rep John, nice guy and your typical sales type guy. Our original project manager Juliano was a really nice guy but new at construction project managing and it just wasn't the job for him. He tried his best to communicate with us and keep us in the loop. Well then Juliano left and we we got sent Steve. Getting Steve to communicate with us was like pulling teeth. He seemed to have the attitude of "when a crew shows up, they show up". At one point I expressed my frustration with Steve about the lack of communication all his response was "I'm sorry you feel that way". There was just so many specific things that happened that is just too much to include in this review, but so many of our frustrations could have been resolved with some communication. Crews constantly left food wrappers and water bottles all over the yard, one of Cody employees spit gum out by the pump/heater which one of the dogs stepped in and let me just tell you it is not fun getting gum out of a dogs paw. Our pool was finally finished at the end of Sept '23 however it is now March '24 and we have a leak in the pool that we have been waiting 2 months to get fully fixed. Someone came out in Feb and said that it was all fixed, only to find out it wasn't. Apparently there was a part that had to be ordered, which we found out through the warranty company, and that part wouldn't be in until March and the crew would be out March 8th to fix. Do you think someone showed up on March 8th....NOPE! Do you think we got a phone call saying that they wouldn't be showing up...NOPE!. I called the warranty company and apparently the crew had to push it to today, March 11th. As of right now no one has showed up. We have been having to add water to our pool several times a week because of this leak, which is costing us money, the pool looks like crap bc of the algae growing because the salt level is all of from water leaking and then having to add new water constantly. We love having a pool but if we had to do it again there is no way we would go with Cody. Follow-up: We are still having issues with a pool leak after being told it was fixed.. Our pool cleaning company has tried numerous times to contact Cody to discuss with them what they are seeing and no one will return a phone call. I tried to call the warranty company today while our pool guy was here to coordinate someone coming out while they were here so they could show them the concerns and was told that we were out of construction warranty and basically tough luck that we could hire a pool leak detection company out of pocket and see what happens. We also have an issue with two spa jets not working on was told the same thing that it is out of warranty. In the past the warranty company has been the bright spot of Cody, but not this time. I asked to be transferred to a manger at the warranty company and was told they were in interviews and they could send me to voicemail but I was hung up on.
Beautiful nightmare is the best way to describe this company. Aesthetically the finished product of our pool is stunning however we have experienced an ongoing nightmare with the warranty department which is Platinum Pools. Since the very completion of our project in early 2024 we have consistently had technicians at our home for repairs. Often (though scheduled) no one shows up and at this point there is not even a follow up call from them. We are given the most ridiculous and unprofessional excuses including inappropriate personal details of why a technician cannot keep our appointment. Cody Pools employs, tolerates and refuses to adjust this element as if the two are unrelated. The fact is lack of service does matter and although they so-called “sealed the deal” by selling a fancy pool, it demonstrates the company’s focus is centered solely about the sale. Service is an extension of your brand after the sell. Building a pool is a long term investment which should not be taken lightly. Truthfully, I had no intention on writing a negative review yet the HORRIBLE service is continuous and ever so blatant. At this point it must be shared it hopes to assist others in making an educated decision. No one from Cody Pools has ever followed up to see how our customer experience was going nor has ever responded after the high volume of “patch repair” job orders in the system for a NEW POOL project!! In less than a year major parts have already been replaced and we get conflicting information from every receptionist and technician. No one is on the same page and it reinforces the obvious that no solid strategy or proactive system is in place which is something we recognized even while building our pool. I could really unpack layers of unpleasant issues with that entire process but I will simply encourage all readers to be a savvy consumer, independently do your homework and ultimately hire a builder you can trust during and after the project. It is YOUR HOME not theirs.
