The 7 star crews do a fantastic job and they do it all when it comes to taking your pool from meh to fabulous! They can fix anything that needs repairing and provide a plethora of options and finishes to make your pool and deck look like a million dollars. Our pool leaked and the concrete deck looked awful. They took care of it all from the lanai screen and structure to the pool deck to the broken skimmer to beautiful pool finish to the color changing led lighting and the entirely rebuilt waterfall and fancy tile work. These guys are the best. They aren't the fastest or the cheapest but I'll take top quality and fair price any day. You will be pleased in the end.

The Star Pool Renovations company I cannot recommend as they are quick to sell you equipment, but have a VERY BAD RECORD of being able to support that equipment. This is a big issue! That is like buying a certain model of automobile, to later find out, there is no way to maintain it, let alone repair it. They will tell you sometime after the sale... to find someone else to maintain it. This is unprofessional and unreasonable. Will never use again.

I have to say, I am not sure we could be talking about the same company as the other reviewer. I have dealt with John, his father and crew for over 5 years now and they are magnificent! They do not take short cuts and if something takes longer than initially estimated, it is certainly due to their attention to detail. Not only have they maintained our pool, but recently completely renovated it....it is simply stunning. So much so, our neighbor has now hired them to maintain and re-do their pool. Construction is currently underway! They, too, are impressed with the level of "professionalism" of this company. WE LOVE 7 STAR! Happy in Bonita!!

I wish I would have read reviews before I made the mistake of hiring 7 star. The first thing they did was tell me they would neutralize the chlorine before pumping it out in the yard, they didn't ,burned the grass.Being I was putting in new travertine, they were supposed to raise the new skimmer ,they didn't.I also had them put in a dedicated vac.line,3 new valves, new larger filter. They were going to hook my new skimmer to the old 1- 1/2"line and stated if there was a problem I'd have to pay extra and hire the leak detection co.I told them "we would be idiots to use the old piping when we already have a trench dug".There worker would come for a short time and say he"s going for a sandwich and would not be seen the rest of day. When he installed the PVC I was shocked to see the lines full of sand and rocks. He assured me he would flush them before he hooked them up.When he tried to start the pump it would not prime.Later I looked in the skimmer,it was totally full of sand and rocks.I put a wet vac in the skimmer hole and flushed from the pump.I had 1 inch of sand, rocks in the vac.In the other lines there were sand/rocks/rusty wire and a 3inch rusty nail.I called the boss mad about being lied to and he started yelling at me.I could not believe it.He said"read the contract when the pool is full the balance is due! VERY RUDE.So I did read the contract and found one of the problems I had with how the pool interior met the tile was because they had not undercut the tile, like the contract said they would. They blamed that on bastos pavers because they left the old tile and laid the new over it.Now I read in the pentair pump manuel that your not supposed to have a tee or elbow within 10 inches of my pump. The first tee is 3inches and the second is 9 inches. This is the worst contractor I've ever worked with.

We have been living here in Cape Coral Fl. now for two years, and in that time we have dealt with over eight different types of contractors doing various types of construction work such as a new dock/lift, roof, Windows, kitchen, flooring and electrical work to name a few; and even though we were very fortunate to pick the right contractors for each type of work, we must say 7-Stars Pool Renovation Inc. was without a doubt one of the best contractors we have dealt with so far. When we decided to have our pool resurfaced this past May and talking to several pool renovation contractors, John Sr. came into our home as one of the most professional and well informed salesman we have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. .Once we decided on the type of finish and tile, within ten days (as promised) Bo showed up to start the work; once all the prep work was complete by both Bo & Joe, John Jr. came in and did a fantastic job installing the tile we picked out followed by the install of the new plaster. We also decided on replacing our pool filtering system to include new PVC piping, filter and motor; and Bo was the man who handled that part of the project for us in a professional and workman like manner. Bottom line: From day one with John Sr. coming to our home, to the last pool cleaning completed ( per our contract agreement ) seven weeks later, we can not be any happier then what we are now for the job well done by the entire 7- Star team ( John Sr., John Jr, Bo, Joe ) and of course Sandy who handled all the paper work, coordination of the work schedule and billing. Another job well done Sandy and thank you all for everything; it was our great pleasure working with the "ENTIRE" 7- Star Pool Renovation team. BT & LT.

Actually it is very difficult to give them even 1 star. I contracted them in March to do a job starting July 11 and arranged access for them to start emptying the pool for July 01. I then travelled from Canada to be there when the work was being done. Since the job was to be done in one week I arranged to be there for 2 weeks. the job was not started until July15. they decided to "acid wash the pool" and in so doing created leaks that were never there before they did their work. In order to rectify the leaks they created they employed a leak detection company that I then had to pay. They overflowed the pool creating a water bill of $747.58 and have refused to pay any portion thereof. As of Oct 19 the pool is still leaking and both them and the leak detection company refuse to take any responsibility for their sloppy work. I take this opportunity to record my total dissatisfaction and disappointment with the quality of their work and attitude towards me and my complaints.

About 7 Star Professional Pool Renovations LLC

7 Star Professional Pool Renovations of Fort Myers: a Florida license held since 1996, 3.8 across twenty reviews.

Who they are

7 Star Professional Pool Renovations works out of Forest Oaks Drive in Fort Myers and holds Florida contractor license CPC056899 — current since December 1996, which is thirty years and among the longest continuous licenses here. They describe themselves as family-owned, which no public record settles. Their site carries a 2014 copyright while reviews continued arriving into 2026, so the business is well ahead of the website.

What they build

Renovation and resurfacing first — it is in the name and it is what most accounts describe — plus new construction, repairs, servicing, spas, water features, screen enclosures and outdoor living. They also sell and install equipment, and that turns out to be worth knowing: one customer's specific complaint is that the company is quick to sell equipment and poor at supporting it afterwards. If you are buying a heater or a pump from them, ask who services it and under what terms before you sign.

Where they work

Fort Myers, Lee County and the surrounding southwest coast. They publish no separate pages for individual towns, so there is nothing documenting the reach — confirm your own address. They do publish a substantial set of photographs of their own work, which for a renovation company is the most useful thing they could show you, because resurfacing is judged entirely on finish.

What the record shows

Google has them at 4.2 from fifteen reviews and Yelp at 2.6 from five, averaging 3.8 across twenty — about seven tenths of a point below the 4.52 average across Florida's builders. Twenty reviews is a thin base for thirty years of trading, so read the accounts. The positive half is strong and specific: nine separate customers name their professionalism and six the quality of the build, which on a record this size means most people who wrote about them were pleased. The negative half agrees on a shape rather than on a single fault, and it is worth stating plainly because two customers describe it and two more describe how they were treated when they raised it. What they say is that the selling is better than the delivering. One puts it directly — that the company did a very good job of selling itself, and that the work, once done, was not as described. Another describes contracting in March for a July start, arranging access, and then things going wrong from there. A third describes chlorinated water being pumped into their yard after being told it would be neutralised first. And two describe the response when they complained as the worst part of the experience. They advertise a ten-year warranty and being the most trusted; neither is something any register confirms, and the ten-year term is the one worth having in writing given what these accounts describe. So: a long-established renovation company that most customers rate well, with a consistent minority reporting that the finished job did not match the sale and that pushing back went badly. The practical steps are narrow. Get the specification in writing with the finish, the materials and the equipment named, get the ten-year warranty document rather than the claim, and agree who handles a complaint and how quickly before you need to know.

Questions homeowners ask

Answered from this record — not by the business.

Is 7 Star Professional Pool Renovations licensed?

Yes, and for a long time. Florida contractor license CPC056899 has been current since December 1996 — thirty years.

What do the reviews actually say?

4.2 from fifteen reviews on Google and 2.6 from five on Yelp, averaging 3.8 across twenty — below the 4.52 Florida average, on a thin base for thirty years of trading. Nine customers name their professionalism and six the build quality, so most people who wrote about them were pleased.

What are the complaints about?

That the selling is better than the delivering. One customer says the company sold itself very well and the finished work was not as described. Another describes contracting in March for a July start and things going wrong from there. A third describes chlorinated water pumped into their yard after being told it would be neutralised. Two more describe the response when they complained as the worst part.

Do they really offer a ten-year warranty?

They advertise one, and no public register confirms warranty terms. Given that the complaints here concern work not matching what was sold, this is the document to ask for rather than take on trust — get the term, what counts as a defect, and who inspects it.

Should I buy equipment from them?

Ask about servicing first. One customer's specific complaint is that they are quick to sell equipment and poor at supporting it afterwards, so establish who services what you buy and under what terms before signing.

What should I get in writing?

The specification with the finish, materials and equipment named; the ten-year warranty document itself; and who handles a complaint and how quickly. Those three cover everything the negative accounts describe.

Which areas do they cover?

Fort Myers, Lee County and the surrounding southwest coast. They publish nothing for individual towns, so confirm your own address.
