THIS IS AN UPDATE 11/16/2021. I called Blue Sky Pools a few weeks ago to have repair work done and was told that they no longer service my area, including pools that they constructed. They built A LOT of pools in our area! Just a heads up to be sure that you have them include in your contract, a guarantee to SERVICE your pool for 'however many years' following completion. I still think they did a wonderful job, but not servicing work you have done is sort of strange to us. Don't see why they don't just expand and create a 'service & repair' division of their company. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We bought our home and then had Blue Sky Pools do the install. From design to completion, they worked with me to get things done, and done right the first time. They are very experienced, very thorough in every aspect of their work. There were no etra costs or surprises; they cam in right on budget. Dennis, the job leader is a gem of a guy, a hard worker, and a great communicator. When we priced pool contractors, yes, there were some lower. But they also did not offer 'turn-key' service. Blue Sky moved and replaced landscaping, contracted all the electrical and plumbing work for our specialty landscape lighting, ran a new hose bib from the front of the house to the pool area, and installed all the plumbing for landscape watering inside the pool cage. They painted the exterior concrete facing our backyard to match the color of our home, and they came back for 4-5 weeks to check the chemistry until it balanced out. The follow-up, since the pool was completed has been excellent, with immediate returned calls and a very responsive new office staff. Our pool has been in for 5 yrs now and we have had no problems. My wife and I highly recommend Blue Sky.
We had Jennifer come out to the house and she took measurements and answered so many questions that we had for her. She was very nice and we even connected since we learned of a mutual person that we knew. She helped us with design via Zoom a couple of times which was great. She got us final pricing and then we made some modifications to fit the budget, however, the price actually went up even though we reduced some things. After I inquired and asked if she could split the difference with me which was only a couple of hundred dollars, I never heard from her or anyone again. I followed up several times to see what happened and never got a response. I continued to follow up and still nothing. My wife felt that she was annoyed with us for some reason, but we wanted to make modifications since to us, we were spending a lot of money. Since I do not know, I will assume that the pool was not expensive enough for them since all pool companies are so busy during this time. It is unfortunate because we were going with them regardless. We have moved on to another company that does want our business. I believe they have a good product and are good people, but you probably need to spend lots of money before they speak to you.
Blue Sky Pools is a pleasure to work with and creates a superlative product. I had a small space in which to put a pool, and they designed a pool that maximized the space perfectly. I met with them once while I was in town finalizing my house with the builder. Jen listened carefully to what I envisioned, gave me suggestions, discussed pricing, and sent me plans and updates via e-mail thereafter. They kept me abreast of every step -- from permitting to excavating to filling the pool -- so I felt a part of the process although I was out of town. The end result is gorgeous, on time and on budget.
I called Blue Sky Pools and made an appointment to have a designed come to my house to discuss installing a new pool and spa. An appointment was made with Jennifer a couple of weeks after the call. The day of the appointment Jennifer arrived on time and was very pleasant. We spent a few minutes discussing my needs and wants, she provided me information on the company and products, she then took measurements and pictures before leaving. After several weeks I called the company to see when I may hear back from Jennifer on a preliminary design, and was told she was off that day and they would give her my information so she could call me back. After a week of no response I called the company back, and was told Jenifer was not in the office, and again gave them my information to relay to her. It has now been several more weeks and have not heard back from anybody at Blue Sky Pools. Not sure how a company can stay in business by ignoring potential customers.
They did a great job- very professional. Jen walked us through the process step by step. When we had questions about color selections she recommended items within our budget and that fit with our design. She never pushed ideas on us or recommended over the top, expense additions. We gave her our vision of what we wanted as well as our budget and she stuck to it. Missy was very easy to work with when it came to making payments and dealing with the bank. “Pool school” was done at the end by Mike. He was thorough and made the pool care easy to understand. It even came with a 3 ring binder with all of our equipment, warranties and care instructions. Overall the experience was great and the final product is incredible. We interviewed multiple pool companies and we could not be more happy that we chose Blue Sky
Jennifer missed an appointment with me and didn't return several phone calls that I made to her to reschedule the appointment. When I finally reached her a couple weeks later she basically told me that they were too busy and couldn't do anything until April. I had an appointment in December of 2015 and now they can't do anything until April.

Blue Sky Pools of Tampa: licensed since 1998, a thin review record, and what they do and do not take on. FloridaPoolz.
Blue Sky Pools works out of Tampa and holds two Florida pool contractor licenses under the same qualifier — CPC056999, current since June 1998, and CPC1457449 since April 2007. Twenty-eight unbroken years is a long record by any standard here, and their domain has been registered since 2003. They describe themselves as family owned, which no public record confirms either way.
New pool construction, repair, spas, water features, screen enclosures and outdoor living work. Renovation and ongoing servicing are not among what they publish, which is a narrower offer than most builders of this age — worth confirming if you need an existing pool resurfaced or maintained. No separate area pages are published, so Tampa and Hillsborough County is the working assumption.
4.0 from 19 Google reviews, with 5.0 from two on Yelp, against a Florida pool builder average of 4.52. Nineteen reviews is a small sample and should be read as a prompt to look closer, not as a verdict on twenty-eight years of work. The praise that is there is evenly spread: three customers each raised professionalism, keeping to schedule and communication independently. No complaint theme was raised by two or more customers.
The review count is thin for the trading history, so ask for references rather than relying on the score. Because they do not publish renovation or servicing, confirm early whether your job is one they take. And as with any long-established company, ask who runs builds day to day now — twenty-eight years covers more than one generation of crews, and the license tells you about the business rather than the people who will be on site.
