We've had Caribbean Pools and Bruce build 2 pools for us and have been very happy with both. They did a very good job and their pricing was reasonable. I understand that since we have built our pools, the demand for pools has greatly increased with higher prices and longer wait times. So glad we built when we did!

★☆☆☆☆ Google · October 24, 2023

Pool developed 3 structural cracks, leaking water through the shell. Caribbean Pools will not accept responsibility and forced litigation. Pool has had numerous defects, cracked shell, copping coming off, pavers not level and sinking due to poor compaction, pool finish uneven, discolored and cracking as well. We chose this builder due to reviews, warranty in contract and pricing. Unfortunately the warranty isnt worth the paper it was written on.

Bruce and his team were amazing to work with. Our pool dig date started right on time and our pool finished right on time. The entire experience was great and our family loves swimming in our pool. Bruce always answered our questions and was well worth the wait! Our family highly recommends him. I understand that there are other pool builders out there and some who can start sooner but you won’t find a better quality one like Bruce.

I would not recommend using this company to anyone. The owner is completely unresponsive. 99% of the time he NEVER responds. He wasn’t responsive during the pool building process and now that it is complete, he almost never responds and NEVER picks up the phone. We were so desperate for help we would previously contact his employee. Now we need our pool repaired and I literally tracked down our neighbor’s pool builder this morning for help. It continues to amaze me how many companies there are that know how to do the work but have no customer support processes in place. But I’m sure he will stay in business because someone will say to their friend that he builds a great pool but don’t expect good customer service. It doesn’t seem to matter at first but I can assure you it will after your pool has been built.

What an amazing experience is all I have to say. From the day 1 when Bruce (owner) came to my house until yesterday when we concluded our business. I've had few pool companies come to my house. Some of them were too expensive and some were too cheep to the point I didn't know who to trust. My friend recommended Bruce's company to me and I am so glad I went with Caribbean Pools and Spas. Bruce and Tina coordinated everything and everything went as best as I hoped for. The pool is looking awesome and I can't wait for the warm weather now. Thank you guys for everything. You are awesome!

About Caribbean Pools & Spas of Central Florida Inc

Caribbean Pools & Spas of Central Florida is actually a Jacksonville builder: licensed since 2010, 3.7 from seven reviews.

Who they are

Caribbean Pools & Spas of Central Florida is registered at Murphy Street in Oviedo, Seminole County. Their phone number is a Jacksonville one, and the only town pages they have actually written are for Jacksonville, Fleming Island and St. Johns. This is a northeast Florida builder, not a central Florida one. If you are in the Orlando area and found them by the name, they are probably not local to you; if you are in Duval or Clay County, they are. Their Florida contractor license, CPC1457992, was issued in March 2010 and is current — sixteen years — and their domain dates from 2006. They describe themselves as a premier or number one builder, which is not a position anyone holds on the record.

What they build

New pool construction, renovation, spas and hot tubs, water features and outdoor living work. Five lines. They publish a full set of twenty-four project photographs, which is the most useful part of the site for judging finished work, and they publish no opening hours. Their reviews describe dealing with the owner directly from the first visit onward, which for a firm this size is how it works — there is no account manager between you and the person whose license it is.

Where they work

Jacksonville and the northeast, despite the company name. They publish their own written pages — written for each place rather than one template with the name swapped — for Jacksonville, Fleming Island and St. Johns. Three places, all in Duval and Clay counties, and a short honest list written properly is worth more than a long templated one. Read it as greater Jacksonville and the St. Johns corridor. Anything in central Florida is worth confirming carefully, because nothing on their site is written for it.

What the record shows

Google has them at 3.7 from seven reviews, which is eight tenths below the 4.52 Florida average. Seven reviews is a very small sample, too small for any theme to reach our reporting floor in either direction, so what follows is individual accounts rather than patterns — but on a record this short the individual accounts are all there is, and they are sharply divided. Two customers are emphatic in their favour, and specifically about the thing this trade most often fails at: one describes the dig date starting on time and the pool finishing on time, and the whole experience as good from the owner's first visit to the final handover. That is a real endorsement and it deserves stating first. Against it, two accounts are among the most serious on this entire list. One describes an owner who is essentially unreachable — unresponsive during the build and worse afterwards. The other describes a pool that developed three structural cracks and leaked through the shell, along with cracked coping and other defects, and says the company refused to accept responsibility and that the matter went to litigation. We cannot tell you how that dispute was resolved; a review is one side of it. If you are considering them, that is the conversation to have first: ask what the structural warranty says in writing, ask what happens if the shell cracks, ask for the addresses of three pools built in the last two years, and go and look at them.

Quick Quote

We want to make Quick Quote deserve its name. Unopened after an hour, it may pass to another licensed builder who covers the Oviedo area. Not to more than one at a time.

Questions homeowners ask

Answered from this record — not by the business.

Are they actually in central Florida?

No, despite the name. Their phone number is a Jacksonville one and the only town pages they have written are for Jacksonville, Fleming Island and St. Johns. This is a northeast Florida builder. If you are near Orlando and found them by the name, they are probably not local to you.

What do the reviews actually say?

Google has them at 3.7 from seven reviews, below the 4.52 Florida average — and seven is too small a sample for any theme to be reported in either direction. The accounts are sharply divided: two customers praise them, one specifically for starting the dig on time and finishing on time. Two others are severe.

What is the most serious complaint?

One customer describes a pool that developed three structural cracks and leaked through the shell, with cracked coping and other defects, and says the company refused responsibility and the matter went to litigation. Another describes an owner who is essentially unreachable, during the build and afterwards. We cannot tell you how the dispute was resolved — a review is one side of it.

What should I ask before signing?

Four things, given the above. What the structural warranty says, in writing. What happens specifically if the shell cracks. The addresses of three pools built in the last two years, so you can go and look. And who your point of contact is when the owner does not answer.

How long have they been licensed?

Their license, CPC1457992, was issued in March 2010 and is current — sixteen years — with the domain dating from 2006. Length of license is a genuine point in their favour and should be weighed alongside everything else here, not instead of it.
