We went with Crystal Pools for several reasons, but the most important was the designer Ryan, who designed the perfect pool for our space. He is a true artist when it comes to pools. We originally got a quote right after COVID, and the demand was really high, so they. were scheduled out for 10 months. I looked at the renderings Ryan did for us for a couple of years before we pulled the trigger on our pool. It came out exactly as planned. I read the comments before approaching Crystal pools and spoke to some customers, and they all said the same thing: just let them do it and trust them; they know what they are doing. It was hard because I am a planner by nature, but they were right; they did a fabulous job. I also want to put a shout-out to Mike, who teaches pool school and sets up the pool. He is very knowledgeable. The other shout-out is to Paul, who is the builder of the actual pool, and he is a craftsman with concrete and a very hard-working and honest guy. Thank you to all at Crystal Pools for delivering what we asked for.

Their drives can't drive all they know is inconvenience everyone else in morning traffic and be slow as hell.

We contacted Crystal pools In October, after hearing great things about them. Andy scheduled us for 4-6 months out, which we'd expected. Our old liner took a turn for the worse and really started leaking to where we were adding over 1,100 gallons a month to keep it full and that's not even counting all the chemicals we were replacing. We called Andy and told him our dilema at having to wait several more months and would need to find someone who could do it sooner. Well, he managed to move around the schedule and get it done within 2 weeks... saving us hundreds of dollars in water bills, sewer charges and chemicals. We are so grateful. The guys came out, hauled butt and we now have a beautiful liner! Thank you Andy!

Well, as of now for anyone wondering; I have a beautiful Nine year old $120k pool & hot tub, that warranty ran out with 1st owner in less than a year because he sold the house, now the pool is falling apart, one inch tile at a time because the wall behind it is failing and wasn't built properly 😳 the lighting hasn't worked since year 4, before we bought the house. All in a Saltwater pool taken care of Professionally by one of the biggest Pool care companies out there. You can understand a pump wearing out after running 12 hours daily 365 days a year for over 8 years but the damn pool falling apart is just plain wrong. Crystal pools ignored my calls for weeks. Then when they finally called me back, they seemed very annoyed with my questions. Made an appointment to come see the pool. We waited and waited. Called the office several times. They never showed up for the appointment and have gone back to ignoring calls and not responding again. Very upset and disappointed in their service.

We used Andy at the beginning of May in 2023 to replace our vinyl liner and I want to give an honest review. I reviewed the comments section heavily before using him and you either love him or hate him. I personally loved the service I got. His guys will show up unannounced but my wife and I work from home so that wasn't an issue to us. He was never rude to us but I was never rude to him. If you go "Karen" on him it sounds like he will give it right back. They did good work and he gave me a tutorial on maintenance since I was a first time pool owner. He might take a few days to return my phone calls but the man is extremely busy. There is a lot of information floating around on the internet and most of it is contradicting. If I have questions about pool maintenance I will bounce ideas off of him and he will give me his honest opinion.

I was referred to Crystal Pools and Spa of North Florida Inc by my builder when building a new home. This referral made me go with this company and also created a level of trust, that I now know they were not worthy of. The contract was provided the day of ground breaking, leaving little time for a rushed review. Be sure to request the contract in advance and take your time to read every line. Dan did not do a good job explaining the plans and being transparent on what to expect. Rhonda (subcontractor selected by Crystal) allowed a neighbor to enter my backyard without my permission or notifying me. I found out based on security footage. When I asked why this was allowed, I was told it is common practice to allow potential customers without permission. I had to ask Frank not to smoke his cigarette during a presentation. As he lacked the professionalism to wait until his break time. Dale gave off racist and rude energy. Mike was the only person that gave clear and concise information. After three failed inspections, the pool was completed. When I thought the nightmare was over, I find out they ripped out my new sprinkler system. Making it unusable. Just had to pay almost 2k to have it fixed. For the money you have to pay this company, do your research. You can find someone that is customer focused and oriented. That actually cares you are spending thousands of dollars for a project. These good ole boys will not.

About Crystal Pools & Spas of North Florida Inc

Learn everything about Crystal Pools & Spas of North Florida — a license held since 1988, reviews, and warranty terms! FloridaPoolz.

Who they are

Crystal Pools & Spas of North Florida works from Black Creek Trail in Green Cove Springs, Clay County, on three current Florida pool contractor licenses — CPC044117 since March 1988, CPC1457925 since August 2009 and CPC1461124 since July 2025. Thirty-eight years on the oldest, which is the longest unbroken license record on this directory. They build new pools and handle renovation, repair, servicing and spas, working the Orange Park and Jacksonville side of Clay County.

What the reviews say

Google has them at 3.8 from 69 reviews. The Florida average across the 346 builders on this directory is 4.52, so they sit around seven tenths below the middle — and on a record of 69 that gap describes the business rather than a bad month.

Six reviewers name their professionalism and three the quality of the build, and the fullest positive account credits the designer with getting the pool right.

The critical reviews do not converge on one thing, which is itself worth knowing. One is not about pool work at all — it is about how their vans are driven in morning traffic. One describes a liner replacement appointment booked for a named time that was a no-show, with no call. And one is a long account from the second owner of a nine-year-old pool, whose warranty had expired with the first owner inside a year.

That last one is a warning about warranty transfer rather than about workmanship, and it is a fair thing to raise: a pool warranty that does not survive a sale is worth knowing about before you buy either the pool or the house.

What they build

New pool construction, renovation, repair, routine servicing and spas, from Green Cove Springs across Clay County and into the Orange Park and Jacksonville area. They keep no separate town pages.

Before you sign

Ask whether the warranty transfers if you sell the house, and get the answer in writing — one of the accounts on this record turns entirely on that. Ask for appointments to be confirmed the day before, since a no-show appears on the record too. Ask which of the three licenses covers your job. The 1988 license is a genuinely strong fact and it is the reason to ask for a reference from a pool they built fifteen or twenty years ago; almost nobody else on this list can produce one. Ask for the insurance certificate separately.

Questions homeowners ask

Answered from this record — not by the business.

Are Crystal Pools & Spas licensed in Florida?

Three current licenses: CPC044117 since March 1988, CPC1457925 since August 2009 and CPC1461124 since July 2025. Thirty-eight years on the oldest, the longest unbroken record on this directory. Ask which covers your job, and ask for the insurance certificate separately.

How bad is a 3.8 rating?

On 69 reviews it is meaningful. The Florida average across the 346 builders on this directory is 4.52, so they sit around seven tenths below the middle, and a record that size does not move on a bad month.

What do the complaints say?

They do not converge. One concerns how their vans are driven in traffic rather than any pool work. One describes a booked liner-replacement appointment that was a no-show with no call. One is from the second owner of a nine-year-old pool whose warranty had expired with the first owner inside a year.

Does the warranty transfer if I sell?

Ask, and get the answer in writing. One of the accounts on their record turns entirely on a warranty that did not survive a change of owner.

What is the best reference to ask for?

A pool they built fifteen or twenty years ago. Their 1988 license means one exists, and almost nobody else on this directory can produce that.
