The best and the worst from each platform. Both, always.
Refinished our pool and laid pavers on the deck. Service was top notch from pool refinished to tile guys to paver layers. All took pride in their work and were like artist. They all worked with you and not just their way. They ensured you were happy in every step of the process. If you didn't like something it was fixed to your liking. Thank you all for a beautiful job.
Hickmans Marcite came out to refinish my pool and it looks terrible I tried to get them out to come back and see what's going on the owner Rick has promised to come out many times and did not come out as promised. He has stopped communicating with me I am very easy-going and understanding but this is extremely upsetting and terrible business. So now We have no choice but to put it into litigation with my attorney. I spent a lot of money and a huge mess trying to get this taken care of it is extremely upsetting. I do not recommend this company to anybody.
Rick has done 3 jobs for us and they have all turned out perfect. We have never had a problem with him. Our Marcite on the second job he did lasted over 17 years. This last job he did for us we went with Stone scapes midnight blue colored Marcite. Our pool is beautiful and we would couldn't have asked for a better outcome.
Hickman Marcite of Tampa: twenty-one years licensed in pool resurfacing, a brand new site, and what to ask. FloridaPoolz.
Hickman Marcite works out of Tampa, holding Florida pool contractor license CPC1457015, current since March 2005 — twenty-one unbroken years. Marcite is the plaster finish applied to a pool shell, and the name tells you where the business is centred. Their website, by contrast, was only registered in August 2026, so a very long license history sits behind a brand new web presence.
Pool renovation, repair and servicing, new construction, spas and outdoor living work. Resurfacing and interior finish work is the natural centre of a marcite business, so if that is your job this is a specialist rather than a generalist. They list eleven towns across Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco, but those pages are one template with the city swapped, so treat the list as travel range and confirm your address.
There is barely a review record: no Google rating, and 3.7 from three reviews on Yelp. Three accounts is not a rating and cannot be compared with the Florida pool builder average of 4.52 in either direction. Given the website went up only weeks ago, the absence is easily explained — twenty-one years of work simply has not been collected anywhere public.
Ask about the resurfacing specifically: what finish they are quoting, how many years they expect it to last, what the preparation involves and what the warranty covers on the surface. Those questions distinguish a good marcite contractor from a cheap one far better than any rating would. Then ask for three customers from the last two years and two Tampa addresses you can look at, because with three reviews on file references are your only real evidence.

It is the plaster finish applied to the inside of a pool shell. The name points at where this business is centred: resurfacing and interior finish work.
They do not meaningfully have one. No Google rating, and 3.7 from three Yelp reviews — too few to compare with the state average of 4.52.
Their website was registered only in August 2026. Twenty-one years of work simply has not been collected anywhere public.
