The best and the worst from each platform. Both, always.
We recently had our pool renovated by Pugh Pools, LLC. Our immediate goal was just to remove and replace the waterline tile, pool coping and refinish the quartz. After meeting with Geoff, he suggested to remove the wall in the spa (that we never used) to open up the pool. The result was amazing! We now have a swim up cove with seating for our family to enjoy. Additionally, the crews were on time, professional, clean and courteous. We knew exactly the cost of the project going in and there weren't any change orders during the process. Alexis was a pleasure to deal with, helped us pick out the tile and quartz finish color to really give us the look that we wanted. Once the pool was filled, their professional service team were at the house daily (including Saturday) adding the correct chemicals to get our pool just right for my family to swim. I highly recommend Geoff, Alexis and the rest of Team Pugh for all your pool needs!
The absolute worst experience in dealing with local pool companies. I stopped by the office September 19th and was greeted by a nice lady name Erika who said she doesn’t schedule appointments and will have their service team reach out. She followed up with an email providing me with dates and times of possible appointments which I responded to right away highlighting two dates and times I would be available. And this is where it all fell apart. In the mean time I stopped by other pool companies who were able to schedule my appointment on the spot and I was able to line up some appointments without any difficulties. When the service department reached out to me, Gail offered me a different time than it was originally offered even though I have explained that I work out of town and have very limited schedule during the week- we finally agreed on 11:30 exactly a week from my conversation with Gail who apologized for the confusion due to her hectic day. I mentioned to both ladies that I work about 2 hours from home and I have to leave promptly after the appointment. During the week I was able to schedule other companies to come out and give me estimates who arrived on time and came within few days of the phone calls- no problem. I rushed home Monday to meet the service guy from Pugh pools for my finally awaited appointment to find out that they didn’t show up and didn’t bother to call me. I placed a call and after being forwarded to Gail - I found out that he just called the office to tell them he is running behind - and Gail didn’t call me because (you guess it) she had a very busy day… I cancels the appointment because I don’t plan on spending my hard earned money with a company that has no respect for my time. To me this was a clear message they don’t need my business and they would have no appreciation for my time and money. I really hoped to work with a local company since I live literally 5 minutes away but I rather choose a company who will value my time Good luck with your search- do yourself a favor and skip this one
I just had a pool installed by Pugh Pools and it was a fabulous experience- well as fabulous as digging a big hole in your back yard can be. I was talking to another pool company and I was getting quite frustrated with their lack of response and design builds. I called Pugh and owner Geoff was here the next day with measuring tape and a clip board. He pointed out a several design decisions that I might want to rethink. And, he was absolutely right. He's the expert. I needed advice. They broke ground on Aug 1 and the pool was ready by November 5th. I don't know that they can promise 3 months- but they did everything they could to move things along. Alexis runs the day to day and she is responsible for keeping everyone on schedule. Geoff stopped by every now and then to check on things. And was happy to address any concerns. I can be a discerning client. I don't write many reviews like this. And, I was not a friend to the Pugh family before this pool, as some previous reviewers suggest. (I consider them friends now.) They were recommended to me by the Landscape lighting company I was getting an estimate from. When I met Geoff, it was clear he and his company knew what they were doing. How many people do you know have been this satisfied with their pool installer? I don't know too many.
Don't do business with this company! They do poor quality work, have poor customer service and refuse to honor their work. They failed to make repairs prior to resurfacing and wouldn't honor their warranty when issues arose, couldn't install coping right, improperly installed a salt system causing electricity to flow into the filter, failed to add salt when hired to maintain the pool after the resurface. In addition, they wouldn't address calls for days to weeks without constant inquiries. Overall its been a horrible experience dealing with them and it was a mistake to ever do business with them. In reference to the reply by Pugh Pools, the warranty was listed in the paperwork as 10 years. The area pointed out prior to resurfacing was not addressed, it was just sanded over. Additionally, areas of the surface are coming off that have no rust associated with it and are in a different location. Your repair service came over unannounced while I was not home, lied and said it was rust, then covered it poorly with 2 part epoxy. All without consulting me and then sent me a bill.
My husband had a another company servicing our pool weekly and with that service and an excess of rain our pool ended up going green! Known Geoff for years and called them and Mary worked us onto their schedule and they were able to correct our pool back to crystal clear. Their technician checks our system for any needed repairs so I don't have to think about the pool. They handled out salt water conversion from chlorine flawlessly. Looking forward to working with them on updating our pool and surrounding deck in the future. Great people and great company to work with for a hassle free pool maintenance.
I hired this pool company from a neighbors recommendation- big mistake. They have a major problem within their company and my neighbor had no idea because they have a brand new pool (installed by their builder-not Pugh's) that only required a light vac and filter rinse every week. Well, if you require to have any discussion or discourse regarding your pool- forget it unless you speak fluent Spanish. Every single week I want to ask a question or tell the guy cleaning my pool something that they didn't do or something that occurred that affected the pool in some way and I CANNOT SPEAK SPANISH! I have dealt with that frustration for a couple months now and the office says they can't find English speaking help. That is NOT the worst of all the problems with this company. I have issues which require their service department for small repair issues and that is where the problems really begin. They send their only bilingual person out to see the problem and then he gives you an appointment date. Then they never show up on their given appointment date. This has happened over 6 times for the same issue! When I call the office and ask where their service tech is because the day is almost over and I've had NO calls and NO ONE showed up, they give some excuses and say he will be there tomorrow. I ask them to please be considerate and call me if they aren't going to show up so I'm not waiting there all day and they say of course - but the next day it's the same thing over again - no call and no one shows up. The office staff is very pleasant but they say they are all so frustrated with the company that they are all quitting and leaving the sinking ship. So be forewarned and stay as far away from this company as you can - horrible, horrible customer service and the actual work (if you can ever get them to actually show up and perform the work) is nothing better than average with extremely high prices. Plus I will attach a photo of the light they installed in my pool that looks like a hack job because it was a hack job! They even cut a return line and buried it without hooking it back up and every time I filled my pool above the return line it flooded my whole back yard and I couldn't figure out why my yard was always under water! Check out the pic of their quality of work

Pugh Pools of Ocean Ridge: licensed since 1997, consistent praise, and two themes worth pressing on. Only at FloridaPoolz.
Pugh Pools works out of Ocean Ridge on the Palm Beach coast, holding Florida pool contractor license CPC056970, current since December 1997 — twenty-nine unbroken years. Their domain dates to 2008 and the residential pools page was revised in August 2026, so the business is active and the license history is one of the longer ones here. They make no superlative claims on their own site.
New pool construction, renovation, repair and servicing, spas, water features, screen enclosures and outdoor living work, with commercial pools alongside residential. It is the full offer of a long-established contractor. No separate area pages are published, so Ocean Ridge and the surrounding Palm Beach coast is the working assumption.
4.3 from 75 Google reviews and 3.2 from thirteen on Yelp, against a Florida pool builder average of 4.52. Slightly below the field on Google, further below on Yelp, and 88 reviews between them is enough that the shortfall is real rather than noise. Seven customers praised professionalism independently and three their keeping to schedule, so the good experiences are consistent as far as they go.
Two themes each reached the two-customer floor: build quality and communication. Two out of 88 is a small minority in both cases and neither amounts to a pattern, but they are the only things that recurred at all, so they are what to press on. Ask who supervises the finish work and what the warranty covers on the shell and surface, and agree a single point of contact and how often you will hear from them. Then read the Yelp reviews as well as the Google ones — the gap between the two platforms is wider here than the review counts alone would explain.
