JC Custom Pools of Haines City: license CPC1457238 held since 2006, and just four reviews split between top marks and 2.5. Twenty years, almost no record.
JC Custom Pools works out of Haines City, from Pine Forest Drive in Polk County, between Orlando and Lakeland. Their Florida certified pool contractor license, CPC1457238, has been on record since June 2006 and shows current — twenty years. The current website is far newer, registered in June 2024, which usually means a long-established company that has only recently started marketing itself.
Seven service lines, the full spread: new pool construction, renovation, repairs, weekly service, spas and hot tubs, water features and outdoor living. Ten finished projects are on show, enough to see how they finish decking and waterlines, though not a large set for twenty years of building. The office keeps long weekday hours, 8am until 6pm.
Haines City is the base and the licensed address is there, in Polk County near the Four Corners area where Polk, Osceola, Orange and Lake meet. They publish no pages for individual towns, so their range is a question to ask — Haines City, Davenport, Winter Haven and the Four Corners area are the reasonable assumption. One number and one email address are published, the email on a free provider, which is ordinary for an owner-run company.
There are four reviews in total across both platforms, and they disagree: two on Google at top marks and two on Yelp at 2.5. That averages to 3.75, which sits below the 4.52 Florida average — and the number is worth nothing at all. Four reviews split evenly between delighted and dissatisfied tells you only that both kinds of job have happened, which is true of every builder. No theme recurred in either direction: nothing was praised by three separate customers and nothing complained about by two. So a company licensed continuously for twenty years arrives here with effectively no public record, which is the striking thing about this profile rather than the score. Do not read the 3.75 as a verdict. Read the two low reviews, ask for three references from work completed in the last two years, and see a finished pool — with twenty years behind them there should be plenty to show.

The best and the worst from each platform. Both, always.
Since JC Custom Pools built my pool, they have been in charge of helping me so that everything is right. The durability of the equipment they installed for me is incredible. Without a doubt, I will continue using their services and recommend them to all pool owners here in Florida.
The pool itself was built beautifully, and I genuinely love the final design. Unfortunately, my experience after construction was frustrating due to poor communication and unresolved workmanship issues. The contractor returned to seal the flagstone, but the work was not completed properly. In fact, the sealer appears to have worsened the appearance of the stone, and I am still searching for a solution to correct it. Additionally, the acid wash process left chips in the plaster that were not present before. When I raised these concerns, I felt that excuses were made rather than solutions offered, and the issues remain unresolved. My advice to anyone considering this company is to ensure all work is fully completed to your satisfaction before making final payment. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience so that others can make an informed decision. While I love my pool, I am disappointed by the lack of follow-through and the damage caused during the finishing process.
Great job by JC Custom Pools! Our new pool is stunning and exactly what we dreamed of. This company was professional, efficient and always available to advise us in the best way and answer our questions. Recommended for any custom pool project. They are the best in Florida.
He builds a nice pool. He lacks in communication on when he will get there to do things. And never returned to finish up final details. Charged a lot for installation of a hottub and we had to hire an electrician to come and fix the mess they made of it because it did not work. Charged quite a bit for moving sprinkler system and left it in a big mess. He said he would send someone out to find all the heads and no one ever came. We had to hire someone else to come and do it. Have had no response from him in months.
He did a fantastic job! Very satisfied!

Yes. Florida certified pool contractor license CPC1457238 is on record in the company's name and shows current, held since June 2006 — twenty years. The license covers construction; insurance is separate and no public register shows it, so ask for a certificate.
There are four, and they cancel out. Two Google reviewers gave top marks and two Yelp reviewers gave 2.5, which averages to 3.75 — a number that means nothing on four reviews. No theme recurred in either direction. The honest answer is that this company has almost no public record despite twenty years of licensed trading, so references and a site visit have to do the work here.
Most likely because they worked on referral and only recently started marketing — the current website dates from 2024. It is a fair thing to ask directly, and a company with a record this long should be able to hand over references going back several years without difficulty.
New pool construction, renovation, repairs, weekly service, spas and hot tubs, water features and outdoor living. Ten finished projects are on the site — modest for twenty years of work, so ask to see more.
