The best and the worst from each platform. Both, always.
Our project was an interesting one. We not only wanted a pool, we wanted a pool house as well. And, the pool house had to fulfill a handful of duties. My wife and I had a vision and a rough sketch. After trying for a year and a half to find the right fit for us, we found Above Code. Right away we liked Bernard. He walked us through their processes: design, scope, billing, contract and timeline. He nailed the design! Once we got through permitting and construction was underway we were introduced to Bernard’s brother, Charles, who we worked with throughout the construction process. That Above Code could build, not only the pool, but the pool house as well, made things easy for us. Bernard, Charles, and the whole crew, were always kind, attentive, and helpful. We cannot recommend them enough. On top of it all we came in exactly on budget! Thanks guys for an awesome build, we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out.
When we made the decision to stay in our current home, we also decided to make renovations and updates. First on the list was the pool. We asked around and Above Code was recommended. Charles met with us to initialize the process. We walked through the design; size, picking tiles, surface color, and before we knew it the dig had begun. Once they got started, everything fell into place in a very organized way. Charles made the project as painless as possible and made sure to keep us updated. It’s been a few months since its completion, and we are more than elated with our decision to have Above Code help us kick off our updates with our beautiful pool.
It's been a month since we've had our sat water pool installed by Above Code. It's everything we asked for. They did an amazing job throughout the entire process. They were in constant contact with us and were very personable. I could tell they truly cared about the work they did and making their customers happy. If there was any sort of delay (permitting took the longest) they were on top of it by getting things expedited. The best part was the price! We saved thousands compared to other companies we got quotes from. Not only that, but also time. We were told it would be 7 months from other companies before they STARTED construction. It only took three months from the first time we talked to Bernard until we were swimming in the pool. Charles was onsite throughout the construction and ensured everything was going smoothly. They gave us several upgrades and even offered to replace our existing small concrete patio that had a crack in it and wouldn't be level with the decking they were installing. They take great pride in their work and wanted it to all flow perfectly together. I would HIGHLY recommend Above Code to anyone. So happy with choosing them and our beautiful pool they designed for us. We love it!

Starts with Above Code Contracting LLC — Ormond Beach, Volusia County. My project is somewhere else
Above Code Pools of Ormond Beach: Florida licensed since 2022, a flat 5.0 on Google from 16 reviews, no complaints and reports of fast completion.
Above Code Pools — registered as Above Code Contracting LLC — works out of Ormond Beach in Volusia County and holds Florida contractor license CPC1459959, current since July 2022. Their website went up in late 2024, so the online record is younger than the license. They describe themselves as family owned, which is not something Florida's public record settles either way. The name is a claim in itself, and worth reading as intent rather than as a verified standard.
New pool construction, renovation of existing pools, servicing, spas and outdoor living work. What the reviews return to is speed without corner-cutting: one customer reports a build completed in twenty-nine days, and several describe the company being reachable and going back to get details right. Four customers name the quality of the workmanship specifically and four the professionalism, with three crediting the communication — an even spread across the parts of a build that usually go wrong separately.
Ormond Beach and the Volusia County coast north of Daytona. They publish no separate pages for other towns, so there is no documented service area — confirm your own address by phone.
Google has them at a flat 5.0 from 16 reviews, against a 4.52 average across Florida's builders, with no complaint on record from anyone. Sixteen reviews collected in roughly two years of trading is a good start and not yet a track record: a perfect score on sixteen is not the same evidence as a perfect score on a hundred, and this company has not had time to meet a job that goes badly. What the reviews do describe is encouraging on the things newer builders usually get wrong — responsiveness, sticking to a schedule, and coming back to finish details properly. They advertise being licensed and insured, and only the first half is checkable: the license is real and current, while insurance is not something any public record confirms, so ask for the certificate. With a record this short the standard precautions apply and are not a criticism: ask to see a pool they finished a year ago rather than last month, and keep payments behind completed stages.

Yes. Florida contractor license CPC1459959 has been current since July 2022. They also advertise being insured, which no public record confirms — ask to see the certificate.

Licensed since July 2022 with a website from late 2024, so roughly four years trading and two years of online record. Sixteen reviews is a strong start rather than a long track record.
No — "Above Code" is their trading name, not a certification. Their license is the ordinary Florida pool contractor license, the same as every builder here. Read the name as intent.

To see a pool they finished a year ago rather than last month, and to keep payments behind completed stages. Standard practice with a short record, and not a reflection on them.
