We signed our paperwork to start our pool and spa 8/2021 and our pool was completed 8/2022. Given the economy and the issues with materials this was understandable and the pool was worth the wait! We have one of the nicest pools in our community and can really see the care and quality difference between our pool and some of the homes that went with the home builder's pool company or even other pool companies. I am so happy we went with Blue Haven. Joe was always friendly and Mike the owner cares about the quality his company puts out, he came and checked on the progress multiple times. This is our first pool and we had quotes from two other companies, Blue Haven had the best price for our design and the quality is truly substantial. I believe that if the economy was not the way it is now our pool would have been completed sooner, the hold up was mostly the screen enclosure. But again it was worth the wait and I would recommend Blue Haven Pools & Spas to anyone looking for a luxurious pool. Thank you for the beautiful pool we love our backyard and so do alot of our neighbors. ***Update*** I wanted to post an update, my original post was over a year ago, today is 11/10/24. We had a few small leaks since the completion of our pool and some issues with the pool heater, Blue Haven helped us eachtime to get things back working properly. A few months back I learned that the management changed when I contacted them regarding another leak, at first I was told by the service guy, that we had to figure it out on our own now that the company had management changes. This was a shock because I had never has issues before, so I asked for the manager to contact me, because as a customer who was experiencing a leak in the same place, I felt it should not be on me. Mike the new Manager called and he was just the BEST person I ever worked with, he let me know that the staff was just confused due to the changes and assured he would get my leak taken care of. Not only did Mike keep his word to get a leak company out, he called me after they fixed the leak to check and see how the pool was doing, he even took it a step further and came out to visit and check my overall pool health, which was much appreciated. Mike is the definition of a great leader you can see he cares about his customers. I hope Mike is still there, as it's been a few months since he helped us out but my dad passed away shortly after and life got hectic, so I didn't get to post this review sooner. Overall I'm still satisfied with our pool, it's still beautiful and the customer service I received after the management change makes me continue to feel good about my choice going with Blue Haven Pools. If I build another pool I will 100% use them again!

WOW Where do I even begin? What an amazing experience. I started off working with 4 different pool companies after meeting Bill and having him come to my house. It was a no-brainer that he was gonna be the designer of my pool,Bill I wanted to personally thank you sir for being patient with me and listening to everything that I wanted you nailed it.Thank you, Lindy and Amy as well. I made some last-minute changes here and there and you guys were there for me every single time without a problem. I appreciate you Lindy. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I got a few estimates when I started this process. All were pretty comparable. For me, it came down to comfort level. Amber, our pool designer, is awesome! We must have changed our design 20 times. She was patient, understanding, and I couldn’t have gotten the pool I am getting, without her expertise and insight. In the beginning, she was the reason we went with Blue Haven!!! Our build started Nov 20th. Since that day, they have been so professional and efficient. I figured there might be some bumps in the road but it is 100% how it is handled, that makes all the difference. Travis, the construction supervisor, was very easy to work with. He was always available. Always responsive. Always resolved our concerns, if we had any. On a few occasions, we would see Dave, he would inspect the project with Travis. They were here the whole way. If you are looking to build a pool, you will not find a more trustworthy, honest, hardworking group of people. Blue Haven is the company to build your next pool. You will not regret it!!

I had an incredible experience with Blue Haven. Starting with Tom who came to my house. He provided us with a very detailed breakdown of the cost for our pool. They are not the cheapest or most expensive pool company out there. Their price is just fair. Moving on to construction, that’s when I met Robbin. He was the project manager of my pool and I could not have been in better hands. He was incredible. Communication wise, there was not a single email I sent to him that went unanswered. He was on top of the progress of my pool. At every stage, he came and took pictures. This is a person who really cares for his clients and who strives to deliver a well constructed pool. He has surrounded himself with a really good team. My project started on October 24, 2023 and I was filling up my pool on February 15, 2024. Steve, who is in charge of fixing minor details has been great as well. He responds to concerns very quickly and cares to make things right. My family and I are incredibly happy with the work done, and we recommend Blue Haven 1000%. Thank you guys!

Cannot Recommend - Deceptive Sales Practices, Poor Quality I cannot recommend Blue Haven Pools based on my $100K+ experience. Salesperson (Juan G) made verbal promises about sod replacement, electrical work, and property restoration that never appeared in contract. After construction, they hid behind "no oral representations" contract language. Multiple employees' reactions suggested I wasn't the first customer to experience this pattern. **What We Were Promised vs. What We Got:** I discussed requirements with salesperson Juan G.: sod replacement, electrical for backyard lighting, autofill port. When reviewing contract, I questioned why these weren't listed. Juan assured me they'd "replace/repair anything they tore up" and electrical/autofill were "included as part of pool equipment." Post-construction, Blue Haven initially refused, citing "no oral representations made except in contract." **Electrical and autofill were eventually installed - but only after I threatened to terminate the contract mid-project.** Mike C. agreed to cover electrical at their expense and split autofill (I paid half). **If these were truly "included," why did it take termination threats?** They weren't included - they were damage control. Sod? Same promise, complete refusal. Difference? Pool was done and they had final payment. No leverage. **Project Management Disaster:** - Original PM (Steve) terminated mid-project; replacement absent a month - he quit and I never saw another PM. Just abandoned. - Weeks/months with zero work, no communication - Not a single timeline milestone met except dig - French drain destroyed, encased in concrete - Foundation exposed with disconnected downspout during rain - hired specialist for damage assessment - Hit 4" pipe, only "verified" not sewer by having me flush toilet, capped it without calling city **Quality Issues:** - Tile work sloppy - still cleaning/repairing grout months later - Pavers torn up/re-laid due to poor quality - still cracked/chipped throughout - Coping has saw marks and scratches noted by PM, pool specialist, me - never corrected - Pavers laid without base material or polymeric sand - sand mostly washed out now. - No acid wash before plastering - I noted it and was told "it's fine" - Pock marks throughout plaster after curing - Issues documented by their pool specialist never corrected **I'm Paying Twice Rather Than Using Warranty:** Hired other contractors to fix pavers and coping rather than let Blue Haven touch them. Don't trust them. Would rather pay twice than risk them making it worse. Emailed about plaster pock marks and to buy additional pavers - both ignored. Warranty worthless if they won't respond once they have your money. **Only Bright Spots:** Mike C. listened and helped after I threatened to fire them. Only reason I didn't walk. Screen contractor (Shawn) did spectacular work. Pool specialist (Dave) was knowledgeable, patient. Even he was disappointed with installation quality, documented issues never corrected. **My Mistakes:** 1. Trusted verbal promises vs. getting everything written 2. Didn't read every contract clause carefully 3. Ignored mediocre online reviews 4. Didn't demand recent references **Bottom Line:** Blue Haven: salespeople make verbal promises not in contracts, then cite clauses disclaiming oral representations post-construction. Ethically irresponsible. When you'd rather pay another contractor to fix their work than use warranty, that says everything. Pool finished - concerned about future plaster problems (skipped acid wash, pock marks). Deceptive sales, abysmal project management, poor quality, post-project non-responsiveness - cannot recommend. **Would I use them again?** Never. **Would I recommend them?** No chance. Many reputable pool builders in Florida don't operate this way. Learn from my $100,000+ mistake. *Note: I own my part - should have read more carefully and not trusted Juan. Sharing so others avoid same lesson.*

If zero stars were available I'd leave zero. No customer service, no follow up. The Sales "manager" Bill came to our house. Presentation was him playing a video of the owner of the franchise talking about his company. Sat there and looked at us while we told him what we wanted. In summary, I was prepared to write a check for anything between $27k-$45,000. We waited two weeks and NO response or communication. I figured they are busy so I emailed Bill and asked if there was any progress or info. No response. I waited a week and since I live within 500 feet of their office I stopped in. I asked Bill if he had any info or an estimate, he just looked at me and said "nope, not really" I asked " do you have an idea when we can get the estimate" he replied "nope". I recognized he was so busy he didn't need the business. I spoke to the owner of the company 5 min later and he said " Bill has been with us 25 years and I'll talk to him about it" this statement almost floored me since I work with contractors everyday for the largest home improvement retailer in the world. I figured Bill was new, but it appeared the owner was just appeasing me and didn't care if he lost a customer. So I called All Seasons Pools and described the situation, they said they'd have someone out tomorrow and I would not have the same problem. Such a shame since Blue Haven is so close to my house. This company is 500 feet from our house. I was going to write a check for whatever they asked for and they said it would take 4-5 months to get my pool built. I wish I was in the business of turning down cash customers. Well good luck Blue Haven Pools franchise owner. I tried to let you know your sales "manager" dropped the ball with us, you probably have no idea how many sales he is leaving at the table. So I built my own pool for less than 40K

Company Snapshot

Blue Haven Pools & Spas operates out of Winter Garden, Orange County, under qualifier Keith Patrick Dermody. Its state license, CPC1458864, is currently listed as Delinquent rather than Active.

Specialties & Service Area

Vista East is where Blue Haven shows up most in the permit data — 31 filings — followed by College Park (22), Storey Park (17), Lake Nona South (10), and Lake Como (10), a spread that covers much of the Orlando metro. Of the a documented permit history on file, 184 are categorized specifically as pool construction, with a smaller volume of general "other" and single-family-residential permits rounding out the record. Average permitted project cost has more than tripled since 2020, from roughly $25,800 to over $103,000 for the one permit filed so far in 2026, with steady increases through the years in between — $37,500 in 2021, $41,600 in 2022, $72,000 by 2025.

What Customers Say

Blue Haven's Google number (4.4 stars, 171 reviews) tells a rosier story than the rest of the internet does: 2.9 on Yelp (a substantial 90 reviews), 2.8 on Facebook (22 reviews), 2.7 on Angi (6). Positive reviews describe a roughly one-year build timeline customers considered reasonable given supply and labor conditions, and specifically credit hands-on ownership — including a manager brought on after a leadership change — in resolving post-completion issues like heater problems and recurring leaks. The most detailed negative review describes a $100,000-plus project where verbal promises about sod replacement, electrical work, and an autofill line weren't written into the contract and were only partially honored after the customer threatened to cancel; that reviewer also described two changes in project manager mid-build, weeks with no communication, and a French drain the reviewer said was destroyed and encased in concrete during construction.

A currently delinquent license and a wide Google-versus-everywhere-else review gap are reasons to slow down and verify status before signing anything.
