Our entire experience with McMillan pools was outstanding. Everything from design to finished product was top tier. The entire crew was respectful, very knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. The communication was always a priority for them and I can honestly say they under promised and over delivered. I can't overemphasize how pleased we are. Give them a call before you decide another on company, well worth your time.

We were traveling south on FL 415 from Daytona. A McMillan van tailgated us for 2 miles. Then he floored it, and passed us at excessive speed, finally completing the pass in the no passing marked lines. Not cool with the name of the company plastered all over the van.

Just wanted to share my positive experience with McMillian pool and Josh and his team. I searched for a pool company initially calling about three of four companies on the phone. The response from each company was for me to fill out an application type form online that asked a bunch of questions and then a designer would contact me in a few weeks. My experience from McMillan was that the designer Audi called me almost immediately and wanted to see the house and start on a design. Throughout the process Josh and his team always did what they promised they would do. The pool design by Audi was amazing and she had great ideas and easy to work with. My house was being constructed at the same time as the pool so there was a lot of timing involved so that the house and pool would be completed about the same time. In addition there were times where the house construction was running behind schedule and josh and his team actually needed to slow down the process of construction of the pool. The main thing is that the construction was done in a quality way and everything that I was promised was actually done. You cant ask for more than that.

I hired MR. MCcmillian to finish my pool less than a year ago. When he completed my pool I had soft spots in the floor of my pool. When I reached out to him he stated that the mix used just needed time to settle. Well it never settle and the soft spot continued to get bigger! I’ve reached out, sent pictures to him with only Lies of “I’m headed out to fix it” or text “can I call you back”. I’ve had to shut my pool down and now I’m going to have to spend a ton of money to get it fixed. Do Not hire MCcmillians pools and repair!! He will Rob you blind.

I'm not one to give reviews but with this pool company I must from my very first contact with them to the completion of the pool my experience has been great. I've always heard about many bad experiences with inground pools being built and when you're investing a large amount of money for a pool you want to make sure you find a good company. My design consultant Audi was fabulous even with me changing my mind on things and then calling back and saying I've change my mind again let's go back to xyz. I was told from the day of excavation it would take about 90 days for the project to be complete I was skeptical  about it because once again people I've known have always had delays on their pool projects. On June 9th was the first day of excavation and my pool was filling up with water on August 15th. Mcmillan pool was on point every week someone was at my house working on the pool and all of them were so nice. If I had any concerns during and after the construction they were there to help. Its amazing how much this pool has transformed my home I feel like I have my own little oasis in my backyard. Audi, Dawn, Brian, thank you so much and I have to give a special shout out to Steve Mcmillan for answering any concerns or questions that I had you guys are much appreciated.

About McMillan Pool Construction, Inc.

McMillan Pool Construction of Osteen: Florida licensed since 2009, 4.5 on Google from 32 reviews, praised for communication and the conduct of its crews.

Who they are

McMillan Pool Construction works out of Osteen in Volusia County and has held Florida contractor license CPC1457862 since March 2009 — seventeen years. Their web presence goes back to 2013. They say they are fully insured, which no public record confirms either way, so ask to see the certificate.

What they build

One of the fuller service lists here: new pool construction, renovation, repairs, servicing, screen enclosures, spas, water features and outdoor living work. What their reviews single out is not the product but the running of the job — six separate customers name the professionalism and six the communication, which is an unusually even pairing, and three go out of their way to praise the crews themselves. Customers describing the crews as well as the office is worth noting, because the crews are who is in your garden for three months.

Where they work

Osteen and the surrounding part of Volusia County, between Sanford and Deltona. They publish a couple of area pages but those are near-copies of one another, so read the wider reach as marketing rather than evidence and confirm your own address by phone.

What the record shows

Google has them at 4.5 from 32 reviews — which lands almost exactly on the 4.52 average across Florida's builders, close enough that the comparison tells you nothing either way. Thirty-two reviews is a fair base and the praise inside it is consistent: professionalism, communication and the conduct of the crews, named by six, six and three customers. No complaint was raised by two or more customers, so there is no recurring problem on the record. Two individual accounts pull the other way and they are about different things. One customer says a pool finished less than a year earlier developed soft spots in the floor and that they could not get a response when they raised it. That is the more serious of the two — a structural complaint plus silence — and it is one account out of thirty-two, so it is a caution rather than a pattern. The other is not about pool work at all: a driver reports a company van tailgating them for two miles on FL 415 and then overtaking at excessive speed. It is a real thing to know if you care how a company's vehicles are driven in your neighbourhood, and it is not a judgement on their building. The sensible reading is a long-established local builder whose customers consistently praise how they deal with people, with one unresolved structural complaint worth asking about directly. Ask what the warranty covers on the pool floor and shell specifically, how a defect is reported, and how quickly someone comes out.

Questions homeowners ask

Answered from this record — not by the business.

Is McMillan Pool Construction licensed?

Yes. Florida contractor license CPC1457862 has been held since March 2009 — seventeen years. They also say they are fully insured, which no public record confirms, so ask for the certificate.

What do the reviews actually say?

Google reads 4.5 from 32 reviews, essentially level with the 4.52 Florida average. Six customers name the professionalism, six the communication and three the conduct of the crews. No complaint was raised by two or more separate customers.

Is there anything serious on record?

One account. A customer says a pool completed less than a year earlier developed soft spots in the floor, and that they could not get a response when they raised it. That is one of thirty-two reviews, so not a pattern — but it is a structural complaint followed by silence, which is worth asking about directly.

What is the complaint about a van?

A driver reports a company van tailgating them on FL 415 and then overtaking at excessive speed. It is about how a vehicle was driven rather than about any pool, and it is on the record because leaving it out would be selective.

What should I ask before signing?

What the warranty covers on the pool floor and shell specifically, how a defect is reported, and how quickly someone attends. Those are the exact points the one serious account on record turns on.

Which areas do they cover?

Osteen and the surrounding Volusia County, between Sanford and Deltona. Their area pages closely resemble each other, so treat the wider claim as marketing and confirm your address by phone.
