Next Level Pools went above and beyond in our pool design and install. I know building a pool can be rough since this is our 4th pool build. We loved the service and attentiveness from Robbie and his team that we used them for our 3rd and 4th pool home. He was patient with all my questions and requests for changes, and kept me informed from start to finish. We originally wanted a vanishing edge, but from his experience and our lot he showed us other options that actually ended up improving what I thought we wanted! The end result is amazing and I couldn’t love our pool more.

Yikes - I'm not even sure where to start because this experience has been so bad that I wish I had a time machine so I could go back and never hire Robby and his "company." Everything was great until we signed the contract and wrote the first check. That was about the last time we saw Robby Taylor in person. Robby told us the project would take 5-8 weeks but we're in the construction industry so we would've given them up to 12 and still been happy. Well that was in July 2022 and the project, as of February 1, 2023, is still not complete. The project was to add a spa to our existing pool. There was a good amount of demo to be done and that was all handled very quickly although, poorly. My husband asked Robby if we needed to have our irrigation people out to mark our lines and Robby assured us that his guys would take care of it. You can guess where this is going - they didn't and we had irrigation under our pool deck leaking and shooting up through the tile. When asked about it the standard answer is always “that’s not in the contract as our scope of work.” And here's the thing: if he told us to have our irrigation people out WE WOULD HAVE, happily but Robby told us his guys would take care of it. There have been so many issues that I would need to write a book to go through all of them. But what I really want from this review is that no one go through what we've had to go through. No communication from Robby. He seemingly forgot about our project and hired a "superintendent" Jess Ellington to finish it. Since the project is STILL not finished you can imagine how that has been going. We’ve paid every bill they have sent within 2 days of receiving an invoice. On one of our last payments, however, Melissa (Robby’s wife) sent an invoice mid-day on a Friday. On Monday they sent Jess to our house at 10am asking for a check “to avoid further delays” as if ANY of the “delays” were because we didn’t pay. Wow. I had a check for them that Monday afternoon but that did not prevent any more delays. The whole project has felt like we’re inconveniencing Robby as if he’s doing it for free. Our checkbook disagrees. And I would appreciate a bit more customer service from this company. Robby is argumentative and combative when he finally decides to communicate as if we should have known the information. Well… that’s why we (thought we) hired a reputable business to build a spa for us. Please, save yourself the headache and hire literally anyone else. Or maybe Robby will like you better than he likes us and treat your project differently. But, we didn’t pay Robby $60k+ to like us. We paid him to build us a spa and he has yet to deliver on that front. Updated May 2024: our pool was finally completed February 2023 but just over a year later, Next Level Pools is the gift that just keeps on giving: there’s a crack and bulge in the side of the pool that we will now have to pay even more money to have fixed. Sigh.

We did extensive homework when researching a pool builder, narrowing our search down and ultimately choosing Next Level Pools and Spas. So glad we went with them! They worked with my budget, provided excellent communication and customer support and delivered our dream backyard paradise! Robbie, Melissa and Jesse were so pleasant to deal with. Jesse was our project manager and was on top of everything. I could easily reach him via text msg when needed. We had an issue with our heat pump and Melissa stepped in immediatly to handle the repair/replacement. They are a family owned business so you deal with them personally instead of numerous staff compared to bigger companies. Its just a much more personalized experience. As a small business owner myself, I very much value the customer service aspect as I strive to provide that to my customers as well. Thank you Robbie, Melissa and Jesse!

They say good things come to those who wait, and this is certainly the case with Robbie, Mellisa and Jesse. I waited for two years for them to do my pool renovation and it was totally worth it. They were amazing from start to finish. My pool looks absolutely amazing, they didn’t bite off more than they can chew. They only take on enough jobs that they can handle in a certain amount of time and that is definitely respectful in this day and age. They did the demo, added the spa, they resurfaced the deck, added a roof and chill area. Also added drains and new programmable LED lights and entirely new pump system that I can control with my phone - so that means when I leave work, I can turn the hot tub on and by the time I get home it’s time to chill and unwind in the spa! Highly recommended - 10 out of 10. Don’t trust anyone else with your investment! Btw the whole thing happened in 3 months - they don’t just dig a hole and leave it there for years like every other pool contractor in town 🤿🏊🏻‍♂️🎱

About Next Level Pools and Spas, LLC

Next Level Pools and Spas, LLC is a licensed Florida pool builder based in Maitland (Orange County), serving Central Florida, with plenty of positive reviews and well-crafted new builds. Its Florida contractor license (we have found two, CPC1460542 and CPC1457422) is active and verified against FL DBPR.

Who they are

Next Level Pools and Spas works out of Maitland, just north of Orlando, and has held Florida contractor license CPC1457422 since March 2007 — nineteen years. Their current website dates only from 2020, so the online footprint is much younger than the license. They describe themselves as family owned, which photos on their website confirm.

What they build

They advertise a rather wide service list: new pool construction, renovation, repairs, servicing, screen enclosures, spas, water features and outdoor living work. Even commercial projects get a spot, which highlights their capabilities. They also advertise a ten-year warranty; warranty terms are theirs to publish rather than ours to verify, so get the detail in writing — what it covers, what voids it, and who honours it.

Where they work

Maitland and the Orlando metro; their own headline claims Central Florida. They publish no separate pages for individual towns, so there is no documented service area — the regional claim is theirs rather than evidenced, and worth confirming by phone.

What the record shows

Google has them at 4.8 from 38 reviews, and it's well above the 4.52 average across Florida's builders. 38 reviews is a modest count for a company licensed since 2007 — most of their work predates the habit of reviewing anything online, so read the 4.8 and its consistency rather than the number. Five separate customers name the professionalism and three the quality of the work, and nothing on the complaint side was raised by two or more customers. The specific praise is about process rather than aesthetics: communication kept up, documentation that was actually useful, and a permit process handled for them. For a build that runs several months, those are the things that decide whether it goes well.

Questions homeowners ask

Answered from this record — not by the business.

Is Next Level Pools and Spas licensed?

Yes. Florida contractor license CPC1457422 has been held since March 2007 — nineteen years.

What do the reviews actually say?

Google reads 4.8 from 38 reviews, above the 4.52 Florida average. Five customers name the professionalism and three the build quality, with no complaint from anyone. The specific praise is unusual: useful documentation and specifications, and a long permit process navigated for the customer.

What about the ten-year warranty they advertise?

Warranty terms are theirs to publish and not something any public record verifies. Ten years is a substantial promise, so get the detail in writing — what it covers, what voids it, and who honours it if the company changes hands.

Why only 38 reviews for a company licensed since 2007?

Because most of their work predates online reviewing, and their current website only dates from 2020. The count measures the recent era rather than the business. Read the 4.8 and how consistent it is.

Which areas do they cover?

Maitland and the Orlando metro, with their headline claiming Central Florida generally. They publish no pages for individual towns, so confirm your own address by phone.

Do they do commercial pools?

Yes — commercial work sits alongside residential construction, renovation, repairs, servicing, screen enclosures, spas, water features and outdoor living. It is the widest service list here.
