From my experiences, ProServe Pools has proved to be the kind of company I thought almost extinct in east central Florida - a contractor that provides excellent work, excellent response, and excellent communication. I asked ProServe Pools to provide an estimate on refinishing my 22 year old pool. Over the 22 year period there were problems from the original construction, a leak had developed, and the finish was degrading. I met with Jim (construction manager) who readily answered my questions, provided feedback, and when other items were mentioned (pool deck, fiber optics) suggested ProServe could handle those as well. When I was waiting for Jim to arrive I half-expected a typical salesman - I got instead a knowledgeable well-versed contractor who could speak easily about anything and everything I asked. Through the project I came to rely on Jim for his experience and to trust him for his promises. The plaster sub-contractor had major positives, including providing an amazing 7 people who got the job done in about 6 hours; care taken to avoid damage to coping and water slide; and an obvious level of experience. Post-job cleanup had some issues but Jim was always ready to handle whatever needed to be done to make sure the work was professional. In addition to refinishing the pool, ProServe brought in a superior sub-contractor to fix issues with my paver deck (including a long-standing design flaw from the original installation); and a ProServe in-house expert to analyze my out-dated fiber optic lighting. The project got delayed a few times by the usual suspects of weather, availability, and a vacation on my part but with the exception of my vacation the delays were understandable and reasonable. If you've ever hired contractors, delays can turn into major headaches and it's important that you trust and believe the contractor is truly doing the best that they can - Jim's communication and experience kept that trust for me. All of the employees from ProServe were pleasant, easy to ask questions of, and clearly knew their jobs. There was never a problem of leaving a messy work space or half-finishing the work for the day. Likewise, the deck sub-contractors did exceptional work and made an unsightly deck problem disappear painlessly. And in the end of the pool finishing Shawn (owner) and Chad (his son) were here personally applying the final, specialized approach to make sure the pool was professionally completed. I believe Shawn when he said his atypical approach provides a better finish (smoother, better looking) that lasts longer. While I happily provide a 5 star rating, there were some areas that could be improved, although nothing of serious impact: While working through Jim on the estimate process, ProServe uses an on-line approach that seems to have some cracks in it. While I would have preferred ending with a single PDF outlining the entire job as individual quote items (and hopefully specifically mentioning items to be left for separate change orders) I received several separate quotes. I cannot say if any of this was due to my understanding of the process; unfamiliarity with the quote system at ProServe; or something else. It all worked out in the end, but a single all-inclusive printed quote emailed to me would have been preferable. The previously-mentioned fiber optic issues mainly revolved around out-dated halogen light sources which were non-functional and needed replaced. The industry has no standard LED parts to drop in place and ProServe didn't have an answer for me on that. I chose to provide my own lights from online sources and will install them myself. I intend to offer that experience to ProServe for future jobs that fit the need. The project was completed professionally and I don't hesitate to recommend ProServe for all pool (and deck) renovations.

Disgusting experience with someone employed here. I’ve never felt so uncomfortable dealing with a business. Management should seriously reconsider who they hire and how they handle professionalism and customer privacy/respect. This company is gross. ( mainly the owner Sean for not taking accountability and actions against the issue) And will keep employees that do disgusting acts. I strongly recommend finding different pool service if you’re looking for one. I don’t want a response from this review since the right actions weren’t taken in the first place.

If you are looking for pool or pump repair, look no further!! These people are wonderful from start to finish. Monique and office staff are super friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. I have discussed my issues over the phone with Monique on several occasions ans she helped trouble shoot my issues and has actually saved me from needing a service call. Who does that!!??😄 Incredible, which leads me to the service team. I've had Steven come out a couple of times and just recently with him, Phoenix. Sooo great at their jobs. Paid attention to the smallest of details and again saved me any additional cost, explaining charges that were unnecessary and took care of my pump perfectly. So smart and honest. One doesn't find that often these days. By far one of the best companies I have ever had. Don't hesitate folks, they're the best. Give them a call. They are on top of it!! You're Welcome!😉

Scammers and liars. They sold us over $10k of new equipment a few years ago and it has worked less than half the time since then. Every time they come out for a service call, the equipment fails again a few weeks later. They’ve now charged us for multiple jobs which were incomplete. We highly regret working with ProServe.

With most companies the owner does not come out especially after the job done. Shawn made sure all was right, he runs an honest company with good people. I wanted to update my review since ProServe Pools renovated my pool, it looks beautiful. They did an outstanding job with the new tile and blue finish. The workers were very nice. They cleaned up everyday when they were finished. I would whole heartly recommend them for any pool job. ProServe Pools is a reliable pool service who cares about my pool's well being. They have helped me with pump repair and renovated my pool years ago. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a pool service in the New Smyrna Beach area. They are dependable. I can always know that they will be at my home every week around the same time. That way, if I have any concerns, I have someone in person I can talk to about it. They are professional and friendly. I don't have to go and check to see if they have done their job.

About Proserve Pools LLC

ProServe Pools of New Smyrna Beach: forty-one years licensed and one of the strongest records here. FloridaPoolz.

Who they are

ProServe Pools works out of New Smyrna Beach in Volusia County and holds two Florida pool contractor licenses under two qualifying agents — CPC035676, current since October 1985, and CPC1460602 since April 2024. Forty-one unbroken years on the older license is the longest record anywhere in this directory. Their state certification is verifiable on the register and it is the only claim their site makes about itself.

What they build

New pool construction, renovation, repair and servicing, spas, water features and outdoor living work, with commercial pools alongside residential — a complete offer. No separate area pages are published, so New Smyrna Beach and the surrounding Volusia coast is the working assumption. Their home page was revised in July 2026.

What their reviews say

4.8 from 166 Google reviews, comfortably above the Florida pool builder average of 4.52 and on a count large enough that the figure describes the company rather than a run of jobs. Nine customers praised professionalism independently. No complaint theme was raised by two or more people across 166 accounts, which at that scale is a meaningful absence rather than a gap in the record.

Worth asking about

Very little shows against them: a high score, a large review base, no recurring complaint and four decades of continuous licensing is an unusually strong combination. The second license appearing in April 2024 under a different qualifier is the one thing to ask about — it usually means a succession or an added qualifying agent, and after forty-one years that is a reasonable question about who runs the work now. Ask which license covers your job.
