Last summer - a VERY hot one - South Shore Pools took on the challenge of revamping my pool, a project that stretched over a few months. Despite the wait, the end result was nothing short of spectacular. The crown jewel of the renovation is undoubtedly the rock waterfall and it looks amazing against the light blue pool water especially when it contrasts against the silver-tan siding and pool coping. While the project did take a little longer than I had initially hoped (it was a really really hot summer), the wait was WELL worth it. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are evident in every aspect of the renovation. If you're looking for a pool renovation company that can turn your backyard into a slice of paradise, look no further. South Shore Pools did a 5-star job and even came back to help when I had a small leak under my pavers after the work was complete.
This is the second bad review I have left for South Shore Pool, the first time they came out to go over the project I never heard from them again until I left a negative review. Then they made contact with me, came out to go over a couple of things, and asked me to delete the negative review I did! Well never heard from them again no text, call, or email. So, I wonder how this company would be once the project got started.
We had a full pool and equipment renovation done and I could not be any happier with the work done at my home by Joey, Ashley and Mark a.k.a. South Shore Pools. I was honestly not sure given all the bad pool renovation companies around here over the past few years but from the start when Joey came out to give me an estimate I felt comfortable and more importantly informed. ALL the subs they used were professional and they all did their work to perfection and I do not use that word lightly. They kept me informed along the entire job and made sure I was happy with the work being done. All of the materials used were top shelf and the equipment was also the best. Yes I spent some money but frankly it was worth every penny I paid for it! They do not cut corners and they do what they say and include it all instead of giving you a cheap price upfront and then nickel and dime you throughout, nope they gave the price and it did not change. If you live in the area and are in need of pool renovation or perhaps getting a pool started you simply must have this company and these people come give you an estimate and I am sure you will settle on them giving you the backyard of your dreams. Thanks South Shore Pools for my wonderful new pool! For clarity the first picture is the before the second 2 are after.
Sonny said my salt cell is not working and it needs to be replaced. You guys just replaced it. What do you need from me to get a new one installed quickly? We have a kids B-Day party scheduled for next weekend. Thank you.
We had an exceptional experience working with South Shore Pools. We had come from a horrible experience where our previous pool contractor left us with an unfinished pool. Joey came in and was kind, professional, and helpful from start to finish. He went out of his way to ensure our pool was sound before him and his team helped us finish it off. What was beginning to feel like would be a perpetual frog pond is now a fully functioning pool! We can’t say enough great things about Joey, Ashley, and Mark who helped us when we didn’t think anyone would. The team was always fast in communicating, thorough, and kept us regularly updated as we progressed. If you’re thinking about hiring this company for work on your pool, I would highly recommend them. THANK YOU, SOUTH SHORE POOLS!

South Shore Pools of Ruskin: a clean 72-review record across the south shore, and the license question. FloridaPoolz.
South Shore Pools works out of Ruskin in Hillsborough County and holds two Florida pool contractor licenses, both under the same qualifier — CPC1460497 since January 2024 and CPC1460744 since August 2024. Their domain dates to 2019, so the business trades ahead of both licenses. They call themselves the most trusted and number one; neither is on any public record.
New pool construction, renovation, repair and servicing, spas, water features, screen enclosures and outdoor living work. They publish pages written for twelve towns along the south Hillsborough and Manatee shore — Apollo Beach, Bradenton, Brandon, Ellenton, Gibsonton, Palmetto, Parrish, Riverview, Ruskin, Sun City Center, Valrico and Wimauma. That is a tight, coherent stretch rather than a statewide claim.
4.7 from 72 Google reviews, above the Florida pool builder average of 4.52 on a count solid enough to be dependable. Seven customers praised professionalism independently. No complaint theme was raised by two or more people across 72 accounts.
Nothing recurs against them. Both licenses date from 2024 while the domain goes back to 2019, so ask what pool work preceded them and under whose license — 72 reviews did not all accumulate in two years. Their site has not changed since February 2026, so ask for recent addresses on the south shore rather than judging from what is published.
