We could not have been happier with Star-Lite. Our pool was originally constructed in early 2022 and the process was as smooth as it can be. Construction is never 100% smooth but working with Brian on the design and Michael during the build we were extremely happy. Even after the build, Star-Lite has been available for questions and managing items that have come up. They stand by their work and that's exactly what I wanted when building our pool. Would recommend them to all my friends and family.
After meeting with multiple South Florida pool companies, we hired Starlite Pools to render and complete a pool in 2018. We were so pleased with the finished product that we recommended the company to all of our friends and family. We also wanted to support small businesses and our family had such nice interactions with Dale and Brian. Our kids still talk about going to their office to pick out the shiny tiles. I wish I did not have to write this review - about 6 months ago, we saw rust appear on the wall under water in the deep end. We contacted Brian Ruff and he said Michael Bixler would call us back. After a few weeks, no one contacted us, so we texted him and called again several times. It has been 6 months and still no call. We just want them to look at the pool and fix it. As per contract, they guarantee a LIFETIME structural warranty. There should never be rust inside the pool. This is due to the steel bars being exposed due to an inadequate concrete inner shell, which is clearly a structural deficiency. We are so disappointed and embarrassed that we recommended Starlite Pools to others as in a few years, they will also have the same issue and be in our position. We are letting our friends know and now letting everyone here know, DO NOT USE STARLITE POOLS. Currently, we are exploring other avenues to have Starlite Pools honor their contract and stand by their craftsmanship as we thought they were an honest business.
Very serious company rent on professionalism and doing the job right very honest owners
Brian Ruff came out to our house to view the property and discuss a pool with us. He took copies of our survey with him and said we would have rough drawings and a quote in about a week. After two weeks he contact us to ask if we were considered The City of Boca or Palm Beach county, not sure why he couldn't just look this up or why he waited two weeks to ask us. It has now been over two months and we have yet to ever hear back from him. We have since met with other companies (all of which got back to us within the first week) and have signed a contract with another company. If they move this slow for a quote I cannot even imagine what the building process would be like.
I have to say that our pool came came out beautiful and has really held up.
Star-Lite Pools of Pompano Beach: license CPC1458513 since 2014, ten finished projects on show, and a thin record of seven reviews averaging 3.9.
Star-Lite Pools works out of Pompano Beach, from South West 12th Avenue in Broward County. The domain is older, registered in March 2005 and archived from 2006, so the name has been in use in Broward for about twenty years while this license dates from 2014. One thing worth checking before anything else: the most recent sign of activity we can see is from late 2025, so a phone call to confirm they are taking work is a sensible first step.
Four service lines: new pool construction, renovation, spas and hot tubs, and outdoor living — building and finishing rather than maintaining. Ten finished projects are on show, which is a modest but usable gallery: enough to see how they handle a deck and a waterline, and with very few reviews it is a significant part of what there is to judge them on. One number and one email address on their own domain are published, and the office keeps weekday hours, 8am until 5pm.
Pompano Beach is the base and the licensed address is on South West 12th Avenue there, in Broward County. They publish no pages for individual towns, so their range is a question to ask rather than something the site answers — Pompano Beach, Deerfield Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Broward generally are the reasonable assumption.
Seven people have reviewed them on Google and the average sits at 3.9. Nominally that is 0.62 below the 4.52 Florida average, and it would be wrong to present it as a verdict: on seven reviews a single dissatisfied customer moves the average by most of a point, and seven people are not a representative sample of a company that has been building since 2014. No theme recurred in either direction — nothing was praised by three separate customers and nothing complained about by two — so there is no pattern to report. What this profile actually says is that there is very little public record here, and what there is leans slightly unfavourable. Read all seven reviews; there are few enough to read them all in a couple of minutes, and on a profile this thin they are more informative than the average. Then ask for three references from work finished in the last two years, and confirm they are currently taking jobs.

Answered from this record — not by the business.
Yes. Florida certified pool contractor license CPC1458513 is on record in the company's name and shows current, held since March 2014. The license covers construction; insurance is separate and no public register shows it, so ask for a certificate.
Thin, and slightly unfavourable. Seven Google reviews average 3.9 — nominally well below the 4.52 Florida average, but seven reviews cannot carry that comparison, because one unhappy customer moves the number by most of a point. No theme recurred in either direction. Read all seven; there are few enough, and they will tell you more than the average does.
Worth confirming. The most recent sign of activity we can see is from late 2025, so start with a phone call. A current license means the business has not closed; it does not prove one that is taking new jobs.
The license dates from March 2014, and the domain from March 2005 — so the name has been around Broward for about twenty years, on a license from 2014. That mismatch is common and usually harmless, but it is a fair thing to ask about.
New pool construction, renovation, spas and hot tubs, and outdoor living. Ten finished projects are on the site — modest, but with this few reviews it is a meaningful part of what there is to go on. Weekday hours are 8am until 5pm.
