We contracted Tropicana to remove a half sunken above ground pool and deck and replace it with an in ground pool. From the very beginning and throughout the process Carl and Vicki were great to work with. They were always prompt to respond and kept us in the loop on everything that was going on. I would also like to commend their crew. Everyone of the guys was super friendly, helpful and very professional. We have a heavily landscaped yard and were very concerned about damage to some of our valuable plants. The crew were very careful to work around the areas we were concerned often going out of their way to ensure no damage was done. Tropicana was recommend to us by our son after they helped him out by finishing their pool after the the pool company they hired went out of business. I would definitely recommend Tropicana. Sorry no pictures we love the look of the pool but have this winters freeze the surroundings look horrid I'll post pictures once everything is green again.

My wife and I decided to buy a pool. I’m a google review guy so the first company that came up was Tropicana Pools. I called to set an appointment, Carl came out and to my surprise he was on time which is huge for me it says a lot about the company. Carl came in seemed very relaxed and had a good vibe about him. We talked about what we wanted and he came up with a design. What I liked about Carl is he listened to what we wanted and didn’t push us to what he wanted. Carl was never pushy, he did his job well. To my surprise he was the owner of the company. I was surprised because he’s pretty young. He has been in the business since he was a kid so has been around it a long time. Carl was very patient with us as my wife and I changed a few things. We finally got the pool where we wanted it. Carl gave me a price which was way under our budget which was pretty awesome. I never called any other companies for prices because I liked Carl from the moment I met him. Well, we signed the contract, but couldn’t start the pool till we had other construction done first. Once my GC gave me his end date I asked Carl if they could start June 10th and it did. Literally the pool was dug, steel, and gunite in 7 days. We were a bit shocked how quickly they did all that. Carl originally gave us an approximate timeline of completion which would have been at the end of August. The pool only took 6 weeks which he said was his record for completing a pool. We were pretty excited and incredibly pleased at the results. Carl is an old soul extremely likable, I highly recommend him! Also if you have any questions he communicates very well. He usually answers his phone during work hours, but, if he doesn’t answer he always calls back the same day.

When it comes to choosing a pool company it was an extremely important decision for us. After having heard so many horror stories, we did our homework. I had three companies come out to give us an estimate. We chose those three after reading google reviews from actual customers. Two of the companies were the big guys, and the third was Tropicana. After working with the companies all 3 had very similar materials, pool equipment, and designs and prices ranged from $90,000-$120,000. Ultimately, we chose Tropicana, not only because they were the best price, but more because, we would be dealing directly with the owners of the company. Throughout the estimating process, the other companies would always say that they had to discuss this with a supervisor, or the owner and get back with me. During the permitting and building process a lot of communication occurs between the homeowner and the pool builder, and I felt like Carl and Vikki were always available for my many questions and concerns. They may not have enjoyed my evening or Sunday phone calls, but I can say they always picked up the phone or called me back shortly after. I was told from the beginning the entire build would take about 6 months. We signed the contract on Sept. 1, the permit wasn't issued until Dec. 9th- due to the city requesting additional permits from the Army corps of engineers. Construction started the week of Dec. 10th, and the pool was filled with water by March 1st. Their plumber "Kyle", is very meticulous and all of the above ground plumbing looks great. Their tile sub was also perfect with the installation and the the final pebble tech looks flawless! These things should not be taken for granted because imperfections would be seen forever, and I am pretty meticulous about the details. After working with Carl and Vikki and getting to know them, I wish them success with Tropicana , and can't thank them enough for their hard work in bringing our dream pool into reality!

Quick Quote

Starts with Tropicana Pools — Deltona, Volusia County. My project is somewhere else

We want to make Quick Quote deserve its name. Unopened after an hour, it may pass to another licensed builder who covers the Deltona area. Not to more than one at a time.

About Tropicana Pools

Tropicana Pools of Deltona: Florida licensed since 2022, 4.9 on Google from 43 reviews with no complaints, praised for professionalism and communication.

Who they are

Tropicana Pools works out of Deltona in Volusia County and holds Florida contractor license CPC1459810, current since February 2022. Their website went up at the end of that year and is a single page, so there is little published detail about them — but the review record that has built up since is considerably stronger than the website suggests.

What they build

The site is thin on specifics, but the reviews are not: customers describe full pool builds from start to finish, not just servicing. One says they had never owned a pool before and enjoyed watching the progress, which tells you something about how the job was run. Because their own site says so little, ask them directly what they take on — new construction, renovation, servicing — rather than assuming from what is published.

Where they work

Deltona and the surrounding part of Volusia County, between Orlando and Daytona. They publish no separate pages for other towns and their site is a single page, so there is nothing documenting a service area at all. Confirm your own address by phone.

What the record shows

Google has them at 4.9 from 43 reviews, well above the 4.52 average across Florida's builders. Forty-three reviews on a license granted in early 2022 is a lot of feedback in under four years, and it is consistent about the things that usually go wrong: seven separate customers name their professionalism, four the communication through the job, four the quality of the work and three their keeping to time. Nothing on the complaint side was raised by two or more customers, and none appears at all. That is a genuinely strong record. Two honest limitations. The company is young — four years licensed — so there is nothing on record about how their pools age or how they behave when a problem surfaces years later; ask what the warranty covers and keep payments behind completed stages. And there is almost nothing to look at: their single-page site yielded exactly one usable project image, which is next to nothing for a company with this much finished work behind it. Ask for addresses of recent local builds and go and see one. Neither of those is a criticism of the building, which on this evidence is done well and communicated well.

Questions homeowners ask

Answered from this record — not by the business.

Is Tropicana Pools licensed?

Yes. Florida contractor license CPC1459810 has been current since February 2022.

What do the reviews actually say?

Google reads 4.9 from 43 reviews, well above the 4.52 Florida average. Seven customers name their professionalism, four the communication, four the build quality and three the timekeeping. No complaint appears from anyone.

Do they build new pools or only service them?

The reviews describe full builds, including one customer who had never owned a pool before and followed the whole project. Their own site says very little, so ask them directly what they take on rather than inferring it.

Can I see their work?

Barely. Their website is a single page and yielded exactly one usable project image, so there is one photograph here and no more. Ask for addresses of recent local builds — with 43 reviews in four years there will be plenty nearby.

How established are they?

Licensed since February 2022, so about four years, with 43 reviews. A strong start rather than a long record — nobody on file has a pool from them old enough to say how it ages.

Which areas do they cover?

Deltona and the surrounding Volusia County, between Orlando and Daytona. Nothing documents a wider area, so confirm your own address by phone.
