Who they are

Coast to Coast Pools works out of Porter Lake Drive in Sarasota and holds Florida contractor license CPC1457311, current since September 2006 — twenty years. Their web presence goes back further still, to 2002. They describe themselves as family-owned, which no public record settles. They are one of the few builders here with an awards record that can actually be checked: their site publishes a Top 50 Builders listing and other named awards, and while we have not written to the awarding publications, the record names real bodies and specific prizes rather than asserting a general excellence.

What they build

New pool construction, renovation, repairs, servicing, spas, water features and outdoor living. The service department earns its own mentions separately from the construction side — several customers describe heater and equipment work rather than a build, and a few describe coming back to them years after the original pool. On a twenty-year record, customers returning is worth more than most things they could say.

Where they work

A large stretch of the Gulf coast, and this needs a caveat. They publish pages for twenty-one places — Sarasota, Bradenton, Venice, Palmetto, North Port, Englewood, Longboat Key, Lakewood Ranch, St. Petersburg, Ruskin, Sun City Center and more — but those pages are near-copies of one another rather than written for each place. So treat the list as the area they will travel to rather than as evidence of a presence in each town, and confirm your own address by phone. Their site is actively maintained; the home page was updated within days of this profile being built.

What the record shows

The two platforms disagree more sharply here than anywhere else on this list, and both bases are large enough that neither can be waved away. Google has them at 4.4 from 588 reviews — one of the biggest review bases in Florida, and a solid score on it. Yelp has them at 2.2 from 57. Averaged, that is 4.21 across 645, just under the 4.52 average for Florida's builders. Five hundred and eighty-eight reviews at 4.4 is a substantial, credible record and should be read as one; fifty-seven at 2.2 is also too many to dismiss as bad luck. We cannot reconcile the two for you, and we are not going to pretend the gap away — what we can tell you is that it exists, that it is unusually wide, and that it is worth reading both before you decide. The praise across the record is broad: professionalism most often, then communication, the quality of the build, and the price. No complaint is raised by two or more customers, so there is no pattern we can report — but two recent accounts are worth knowing individually. One describes severe flooding in a lanai after the first rain following completion, with the owner promising help and the project manager not delivering it, and is explicit that the pool itself looks good and the salesperson was straight with them: the failure was in getting someone back. The other describes an estimate promised within days and never sent. Both are about follow-through rather than workmanship, which is also the shape of the Yelp gap. So the practical step is narrow: get the post-completion process in writing before you sign — who returns if there is a drainage or grading problem after handover, how quickly, and who to escalate to when the project manager does not respond.
