The best and the worst from each platform. Both, always.
Craig builds a great pool. He and his staff walked us through the process of design and choice of tile and pool finish which is quite a task. Deciding to add a water feature & pool heater wasn't a problem. Follow-up with issues has been easy and prompt.
Poor installation and very disrespectful response from the owner. We had to contact them and even go in person to have them finally come look at the wrinkled pool liner. The owner kept trying to blame us! After several unpleasant exchanges they fixed some of the wrinkles however some are still there. The most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. N . Come look at the wrinkled
They came out for estimate shortly after I contacted them, stuck to it, and had my old inner out and new vinyl pool liner in as soon as the liner came into their shop. Small family business with a great work ethic. Price was very reasonable. Barbara B.
We're building a custom home in Naples and our developer selected Craig Stevens at Craig's Pacific Pool & Spa Center (located at 930 SE 8th Terrace, Cape Coral FL 33990; phone 239-458-8600) whom we didn't know prior. After an initial meeting, he sent us a black and white engineering drawing of the pool where we had great difficulty reading the numbers even when we enlarged them. The drawing didn't incorporate some of the things we had mentioned to him, so we felt Craig wasn't listening to us, and it didn't show how the pool would fit onto our property. So, we asked him to email us a color CAD drawing to help us in this regard. Over the next two months, we asked him over a dozen times for this CAD drawing but he never responded. We complained to our master builder about him, but they wouldn't change from Craig's Pacific Pools (likely because Craig won their business by giving them the lowest price..red flag). Out of frustration, we met with a key person at Nassau Pools in Naples, who had wonderful ideas, and provided us with a beautiful color CAD drawing the next morning. Our builder said they wouldn't switch to Nassau (but we found out later that our builder had hired Nassau Pools to build pools for 2 of their model homes) so we provided their CAD drawing to Craig's Pacific Pool and Spa Center. This Nassau Pools CAD drawing was excellent, but no one noticed that the depth of the maybe 6-inch shelf holding 3 bubblers wasn't specified. Instead of asking for this important depth info, Craig decided to build our pool by assuming we wanted a "bench" that was about 3-4 feet deep, and installed bubblers that didn't even break the surface of the water. We had said we wanted the soothing sounds of the bubblers, like most customers would want. We had a meeting with Craig, and asked why he didn't ask anyone how deep the shelf should be before building, and he just shrugged his shoulders and said he it wasn't his job to do that, the plan should have had that info. OMG. He then seemed to complain that the bubblers didn't even break the water level, but he was the one who decided to build them to that height. We found out later from many friends in Naples that Craig Stevens at Craig's Pacific Pool &Spa is known as one of the worst pool builders in Naples, and only wins business with developers by being the lowest cost pool builder. He is NOT a creative pool designer who can even do a CAD drawing, and he's a clueless older man who has trouble communicating anything. He seemed nice enough, but when we were giving him tough feedback his reaction was to smile and slightly laugh. Very unprofessional and not someone any customer would want building their pool or spa. If you want a quality pool designed and built, you'd do well to stay away from Craig at Craig's Pacific Pools.
I was happy with the construction of our pool and spa. The plumbing system and returns and feeds were layed out well. We had some minor issues with Hayward's system board, however, the service guys from Craig's took care of it on a timely basis, including coming on the agreed upon time. The only negative thing I would say is I am surprised they use Hayward Aqua Plus systems knowing there has been a multi-year, on-going problem with the model's system circuit board. This is well-documented, to the point it begs the question why not use another vendor....
I do not recommend this company. The operation of my pool is problematic and its finish is poor. The biggest problem with this company is its attitude toward customers - they are wrong. The construction is 95% done by subcontractors - for questions wait for the company owner. As far as the finish - will have it done in a few years. One case in point of the company's attitude - pool operates at 26 to 30 psi pressure at the filter; Craig says this is normal; Hayward Pool Equipment says 14 to 18 psi. You tell me?

Craig's Pacific Pool & Spa of Cape Coral: a Florida license held since 1988, 3.9 from eleven Google reviews.
Craig's Pacific Pool & Spa works out of SE 8th Terrace in Cape Coral and holds Florida contractor license CPC044088 — current since March 1988. That is thirty-eight years, the longest continuous license on this list by a wide margin, and it is the single most substantial fact here. A license held that long through Florida's building cycles is not nothing.
New pool construction, servicing and spas — a narrower list than most builders here, which usually means a company that has settled on what it does rather than one that has run out of ideas. Vinyl liner work comes up repeatedly in the accounts, both well and badly, so it appears to be a real part of the business. They advertise a three-year warranty; nothing in the public record confirms or contradicts a warranty term, so treat it as a claim to get in writing rather than a verified fact — and given what the complaints here concern, getting it in writing is the whole point.
Cape Coral, Lee County and the surrounding southwest coast; one customer describes a custom home build in Naples. They publish no separate pages for individual towns, so there is nothing documenting the reach — confirm your own address. They publish a substantial set of photographs of their own work, which is worth looking at given how small the review record is.
Google has them at 3.9 from eleven reviews — below the 4.52 average across Florida's builders, but eleven reviews across thirty-eight years of trading is far too thin a record for the average to carry any weight. Read the accounts instead, and they split cleanly. The positive ones are specific in a way that matters: quotes stuck to with no added charges, crews turning up on schedule, one customer describing being walked through the design, the tile and the finish choices, and follow-up on issues afterwards. The negative ones agree with each other on one thing, and it is not the workmanship. Two separate customers describe how the company responded when they raised a problem: one had a wrinkled liner and says they had to make contact repeatedly and finally go in person before anyone came to look, and that the owner kept trying to blame them; the other says the biggest problem was the attitude toward customers, and that the construction was largely subcontracted. Two out of eleven is proportionally a lot on a base this small, and what they describe is consistent — not that the work was wrong, but that challenging it was unpleasant. Set against a customer who says follow-up on issues was handled well, this is genuinely a mixed record rather than a bad one. The practical response is narrow and worth doing: get that three-year warranty in writing with what counts as a defect, who inspects it and how long they have to respond, and agree it before you sign rather than after something goes wrong. On a thirty-eight-year license with eleven reviews, the paperwork matters more than the rating does.

Yes, and for longer than anyone else here. Florida contractor license CPC044088 has been current since March 1988 — thirty-eight years.
3.9 from eleven reviews on Google. Eleven across thirty-eight years of trading is far too thin for the average to mean much against the 4.52 Florida figure, so the accounts matter more. The positive ones describe quotes stuck to with no added charges, crews arriving on schedule, and being walked through the design and finish choices.
How they respond when challenged, from two customers. One had a wrinkled liner and describes repeated contact and finally an in-person visit before anyone came to look, with the owner trying to blame them. The other says the biggest problem was the attitude toward customers, and that construction was largely subcontracted. Not that the work was wrong — that questioning it was unpleasant.
They advertise one. Nothing in the public record confirms or contradicts a warranty term, so get it in writing: what counts as a defect, who inspects it and how long they have to respond. Given what the complaints here concern, that is the single most useful thing you can do.

One customer says it was largely subcontracted on their job. Worth asking directly which parts of the build are theirs and who supervises the rest.
