3 Years Later: Outstanding Quality and Durability from John and His Team! We hired Custom Watershapes to build our pool three years ago, and I wanted to wait to write this review to see how the craftsmanship held up over time. I am thrilled to report that our pool still looks and functions as perfectly as it did on day one. The construction quality is exceptional. We have experienced zero structural issues, no cracking, and the finish remains flawless. John, the owner, was highly professional throughout the entire building process, and his commitment to quality truly shows years later. The equipment his team recommended and installed has been incredibly reliable, making ongoing maintenance a breeze. What really sets Custom Watershapes apart is that they didn't just disappear after construction ended. Whenever we've had quick maintenance questions over the last few years, John has remained responsive and helpful. We still enjoy our backyard oasis every single weekend. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a builder they can trust for the long haul!
I thought i was the only one.I have tried to work with Custom Water Shapes to resolve ongoing leak issues, but the lack of communication has been extremely frustrating. Calls and messages often go unanswered, and the delays have resulted in large water bills. Very disappointed with the lack of follow-up and professionalism. Also you they wanted to charge me. to come out and look at the leak... Ray
Three years ago, I had a pool installed by Custom Watershapes, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The team did a fabulous job from start to finish, and even after three years, everything is still working perfectly and looks great. What truly sets them apart, though, is their exceptional customer service. Anytime I’ve had an issue or question, Shaun, one of the owners, has been incredibly responsive and helpful. Whether it’s been about warranty questions, adjusting pool settings on the app, or anything else, Shaun has always taken care of it right away. It’s rare to find such dedication and support, and I’m so grateful for their continued commitment to customer satisfaction. Highly recommend!
I normally do not leave negative reviews, but in this case I feel it’s necessary to warn others. After hiring Custom Water Shapes for my pool project, I began experiencing leak issues that have still not been properly resolved. A leaking pool is not a minor issue — it affects structural integrity, water bills, and long-term property value. What has been even more frustrating than the leak itself is the lack of communication and follow-up. Repeated calls and messages have gone unanswered. Promises to return calls were not kept. When you invest significant money into a pool project, you expect professionalism, accountability, and post-installation support — especially when problems arise. At this point, the issue is not just the leak, but the poor customer service and lack of responsiveness. I hope they take responsibility and improve how they handle customer concerns moving forward. We shopped around for pool companies and after meeting with three other companies I decided to meet with one more company - Custom Watershapes. From the moment I met Shaun I knew Custom Wastershapes was the right choice. They came in at the most reasonable price and I was able to get an outdoor bar and pool for the price of what other companies were charging for just the pool. Shaun and his team exceeded our expectations and whenever there is an issue Shaun is quick to respond and address. I have recommended their services to others and will continue to do so.
This has been the worst experience we ever had with this company. The pool has been leaking for years and it still has leaks and now they want to charge money just to come and inspect it something that was fixed right John never returning your calls when you call him thank you Ray Jones

Learn everything about Custom Watershapes of Plantation — their reviews, three licenses, and what customers report years later! Only at FloridaPoolz.
Custom Watershapes works from North University Drive in Plantation, Broward County, on three current Florida pool contractor licenses — CPC1458973 from March 2017, CPC1459173 from September 2018 and CPC1460663 from June 2024. They build new pools and handle renovation, repair, servicing, spas, water features and outdoor living, and describe themselves as luxury pool builders across Broward and Palm Beach.
Google has them at 4.8 from 111 reviews — close to three tenths above the Florida average of 4.52 across the 346 builders on this directory, on a substantial record. The praise is broad rather than narrow: five reviewers name their professionalism, four their communication, three the quality of the build and three that the job kept to schedule. The most valuable account is a customer returning three years after their pool was built to say the quality and durability had held up, which is the one thing a fresh review cannot tell you.
Three recent reviews go the other way and two of them describe the same problem: leaks appearing after completion, and difficulty getting a response about them. One begins by saying they thought they were the only one — which is what a customer writes when the public record has not prepared them for the possibility.
Two customers on one subject is a pattern, and it is worth setting against that three-year account rather than instead of it. Both things are on the record.
New pool construction, renovation, repair, servicing, spas and hot tubs, water features and outdoor living, across Broward and Palm Beach. They keep a written page for Davie.
Ask for the leak warranty specifically: what it covers, for how long, how a claim is raised, and how quickly someone attends. The two matching complaints are both about leaks after completion and the difficulty of being heard afterwards, so a written remedy process is the protection that matters here. Ask for a customer whose pool they built three or more years ago and call them — one such account is already on the record and a second would tell you a lot. Ask which of the three licenses covers your job. The licenses are real; the insurance certificate is something you should ask for and read.

Yes, three times: CPC1458973 since March 2017, CPC1459173 since September 2018 and CPC1460663 since June 2024, all current. Ask which one covers your contract, and ask for the insurance certificate separately.
4.8 from 111 Google reviews, against a Florida average of 4.52 across the 346 builders on this directory — close to three tenths above the middle, on a large record.
Two customers describe leaks appearing after the pool was finished, and difficulty getting a response about them. One opens by saying they thought they were the only one. Two separate customers on one subject is a pattern worth protecting against in writing.
One customer returned three years after their build to say the quality and durability had held up. That is the single most useful kind of review there is, and it sits on the same record as the leak complaints — both are true of this company.
The leak warranty in writing — cover, duration, how a claim is raised and how fast someone attends — and the contact details of a customer whose pool they built three or more years ago.
