Mac Pools just finished our pool today. They did a absolutely fantastic job! Price was in our ballpark, and it was a pleasure working with this company. Kevin, Keith , Bernie and Kyle work as a team!!! They return phone calls and texts promptly, and just plain get the job done. I feel so fortunate to have located their company to build our dream pool !!👌
Absolutely ridiculous they refuse to call you back!now I’ve learned after over 2 years the permit is still open but yet they were paid in full and to top it off they are blowing me off so I can’t get it closed. I’ve been told multiple times they will be out and never show up. Can’t even get a call or text saying not coming from them. Never felt with so much disrespect from a company that charges this much in my life. Hopefully reviewing will at least get me a phone call back and the job done so the permit will be closed.
MAC installed our custom pool and lanai a few years ago. Their design was great , beautiful and efficiently using our space. They were a pleasure to work and worked well with our HOA to move the project along. We are post warranty on some of the equipment but immediately and graciously respond to our inquiries and go over and above in their customer service.
I have to clarify that the end result was what I had hoped for but getting there and getting response from this company is impossible. I find it very unprofessional that with high end jobs as these that getting answers or resolutions to questions and concerns is mostly ignored. Additionally the crew was messy, had little respect for owner’s property and belongings, Brooke things and responsible for skyrocketed water bill by leaving water on for full days without any resolution when addressed. The job was efficient and completed on time but communication is a nightmare and resolution to problems are non existent. To this day my emails remain ignored!!! I would not recommend this company.
Wish I could give six stars!! From start to finish they were amazing! Was so impressed with their professionalism. Everyone who worked in the pool were clearly experienced professionals. We have the most amazing pool and I am so glad we made the right decision and chose MAC to make our dreams come true! Thank you so much!!!
If I could give this company a negative star I would. Recently moved to Florida and had issue with the pool they installed. Completely washed their hands of everything. Owner wouldn’t talk to me at all when I agreed the possibility of the pool being torn out and redone. They tried to keep from owning up to major mistake they made. Horrible! Do not use this company unless you want your money taken

Learn everything about MAC Custom Pools of Sarasota — reviews, license CPC1460809, and the questions worth asking! FloridaPoolz.
MAC Custom Pools works from South Tamiami Trail in Sarasota on Florida pool contractor license CPC1460809 — current since October 2024. Their domain is much older, registered in 2007 and archived since 2013, so the name has been trading far longer than the current license. Google lists them as MAC Custom Pools & Aluminum. They build new pools and handle renovation, repair, servicing, screen enclosures, spas, water features and outdoor living. 24 project photographs are published.
Google has them at 4.0 from 26 reviews. The Florida average across the 346 builders on this directory is 4.52, so they sit about half a point below the middle — and four of the twenty most recent reviews are one or two stars, which is a higher share than the average implies.
There is real praise: three reviewers name the quality of the build, and one describes a custom pool and lanai designed to use their space well.
The complaints are consistent and one of them is serious in a way most are not. Three customers describe the same thing — being unable to get a response. One says the end result was what they had hoped for but that getting there and getting an answer was impossible. Another, who moved to Florida and had a problem with the pool, says the company washed their hands of it.
And one describes something with legal weight: that more than two years after paying in full, the permit on their job is still open.
An open permit is not a matter of taste. It can block a sale, complicate insurance and leave the work formally uninspected. We cannot verify one homeowner's account of their own permit — but it is checkable in a morning, free, at the county building department, and if you are considering this firm it is the first thing to do.
New pool construction, renovation, repair, routine servicing, screen enclosures, spas and hot tubs, water features and outdoor living, from Sarasota. They describe themselves as licensed and insured; the license checks out and the insurance half is not something Florida publishes.
Ask for the permit numbers on their last five completed jobs and look them up yourself on the county portal — closed permits are public, free to check, and one account on this record says theirs was not. Get a named contact and a written response-time commitment, because three separate customers describe not being able to reach anyone. Do not release the final payment until you have seen the final inspection signed off. The license is real; ask for the insurance certificate separately.

Yes. Florida pool contractor license CPC1460809 has been current since October 2024, behind a domain registered in 2007. Ask for the insurance certificate separately — a license says nothing about cover.
