RPD Custom Pools completely transformed our pool. Before the remodel, it was so ugly I ignored it all summer! Now it looks so good that I jumped in the other day even though it was freezing outside—that’s how big the change is. The tile pops, the process was simple and stress-free, and the communication was excellent. Robert, Phil ad Kyle crushed it for us and were always available. Allison made the paperwork end of things really easy They walked me through every step. Their crews were professional, polite, and left the site clean each day. If you’re considering a pool remodel, I highly recommend RPD Custom Pools.

Roberts Pool Design team was truly amazing! I don’t normally leave reviews, but in this case I needed to. I have to say the entire process from start to finish was seamless. I have never worked with a better and more professional team that took care of all my questions, exceeded our timeline and was so attentive throughout the entire process. My lead, Juan Lopez went above and beyond to help us! Juan kept us updated on all the timelines, next steps and answered all our questions along the way. I can’t say enough about Roberts Pool Design and highly recommend using them.

BUYER BEWARE I wish to formally caution potential clients regarding my experience with this company. Before they make claims such as "we have proof you didn’t pay your bills," I can provide comprehensive evidence demonstrating that I paid all of my invoices, with the exception of change orders submitted several months after the completion of the work without any approval in advance. We invested over $150,000 in a pool that, regrettably, can only be described as mediocre at best. The project was left in disarray, necessitating an additional expenditure of over $15,000 for landscaping to rectify the damage caused by their trucks, which were driven across our property without the protection of plywood. It is worth noting that the contract stipulates they are not responsible for landscaping repairs, yet the level of neglect exhibited was egregious and irreparable. Moreover, the grouting of our patio was completed in two different colors, despite our repeated instructions regarding the desired color. To add to the frustration, a significant portion of the patio was left unpaved. I am now compelled to seek legal counsel due to the extent of these issues. I strongly advise any prospective clients to exercise due diligence and seek proof of this company's gross negligence before engaging their services. If you wish to review documentation of my experiences, please feel free to contact me. I urge you to reconsider your decision before entrusting your project to this company. The owner, Darryl, exhibited physically intimidating behavior towards my husband, which included loud outbursts that were audible to our neighbors, causing them concern. This is a significant investment; do not take unnecessary risks. Should you wish to discuss my experience further, do not hesitate to reach out.

RPD completed our custom pool in late 2021. They hit every possible issue.. it was an abnormally wet summer and the PGA national golf course was just pouring into our backyard -filling up the entire hole for the pool. We had 2 pumps running 24/7 to get it dry enough to shoot the concrete. It was painful but out of everyone’s control. In the end, I have to say that I’m happy we chose them to complete our pool. I have referred them to friends because of how professionally they handled every aspect of our job.

About RPD Custom Pools

RPD Custom Pools of Palm Beach Gardens, trading as Roberts Pool Design: license CPC1459061 since 2017, 4.3 on Google from 29 reviews, and one photograph.

Who they are

RPD Custom Pools trades as Roberts Pool Design, which is where the initials come from, and works out of Palm Beach Gardens in Palm Beach County. Their Florida certified pool contractor license, CPC1459061, has been on record since October 2017 and shows current — nine years. The domain dates from April 2018, so the license and the website started together.

What they build

Seven service lines: new pool construction, renovation, repairs, weekly service, spas and hot tubs, water features and outdoor living — the full range. The gallery is the one glaring gap: a single photograph. For a company nine years into the trade with the review record below that is a strange omission, and it means there is effectively nothing on the site to judge the standard of finish by. Given that ten separate reviewers praise the crew, there will be plenty to show — ask to see finished pools in person or for a proper set of pictures before you decide.

Where they work

The area list needs reading carefully. They publish pages for thirty places, running from Port St. Lucie and Stuart in the north, down the coast through Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood, and on to Marathon, Big Pine Key and Key West. That is the length of the peninsula and then the Keys — a five-hour drive end to end — and those pages are near-copies of one another rather than written about the individual towns. Treat the list as the furthest they say they will travel rather than evidence of work done in each. Palm Beach Gardens is the licensed base, and Palm Beach and Martin counties are where the work is most likely concentrated. One local number and one email address are published, and the office keeps weekday hours, 8am until 5pm.

What the record shows

Twenty-nine people have reviewed them on Google and the average sits at 4.3, which is 0.22 below the 4.52 Florida average. On twenty-nine reviews a gap that size is a mild caution rather than a firm pattern — it is within the range a couple of difficult jobs produces. The content is more useful than the number, and it is emphatic on one point: ten separate reviewers name the crew's professionalism, which on twenty-nine reviews means a third of everyone who wrote anything wrote about that. Nothing negative recurred at all — no complaint theme was raised by even two separate customers, so there is no particular fault the critical reviews agree on. With twenty-nine reviews you can read all the low-star ones in a few minutes, and on this profile that is worth doing — along with asking which of those thirty towns they have actually built in, and who would be driving to yours. Their site calls them top rated and number one, which no rating establishes.

Questions homeowners ask

Answered from this record — not by the business.

Is RPD Custom Pools licensed?

Yes. Florida certified pool contractor license CPC1459061 is on record and shows current, held since October 2017 — nine years. The license covers construction; insurance is separate and no public register shows it, so ask for a certificate before work starts.

Why RPD?

They trade as Roberts Pool Design — the license and the website are the same company under a shortened name. Worth confirming which name appears on a contract and on the permit.

How good are their reviews, really?

Slightly below average, on a modest count, with one emphatic theme. They sit at 4.3 from 29 Google reviews — 0.22 under the 4.52 Florida average, which on twenty-nine reviews is a mild caution rather than a pattern. Ten separate reviewers name the crew's professionalism, which is a third of everyone who wrote anything, and no complaint theme reached even two separate customers. Read the low-star reviews; there are few enough to read them all.

Do they really cover all those areas?

They publish pages for thirty places from Port St. Lucie down to Key West — a five-hour drive end to end — and those pages are near-copies of one another. Read the list as how far they say they will travel rather than proof of work in each, and ask which of them they have actually built in. Palm Beach Gardens is the licensed base.

Can I see examples of their work?

One photograph, which is effectively nothing and the clear failing on this profile. Ten reviewers praise the crew, so there will be a great deal more to see — ask to visit a finished pool or for a proper set of pictures before deciding.
