★☆☆☆☆ Google · July 28, 2024

Unfortunately this business owner has no class or sensibility of grace. I wouldn’t take the time out of my fabulous life to drag anyone down in the mud unlike this business owner but I’ll say this….. be warned, this is a great example of not everything that glitters is gold. RUN RUN RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS MISTAKE.

About Dillon Pools Inc

Dillon Pools of Aventura: an eighteen-year Florida license set against 3.3 on Google from 22 reviews, the largest gap below the state average on this list.

Who they are

Dillon Pools works from NE 211th Terrace in Aventura, Miami-Dade County. Their Florida contractor license, CPC1457712, was issued in June 2008 and is current — eighteen years of unbroken certification, which is the strongest fact on this page and a real one. Their domain has been registered since 2005. They make no marketing claims at all: no awards, no warranty, no ranking. That leaves the customer record to speak for itself, and it is the part of this profile that needs care.

What they build

A narrow list: new pool construction, spas and hot tubs, and water features. No renovation, no repairs, no service. From an eighteen-year license holder that reads as specialisation in building rather than maintaining. They publish six project photographs. Their website is the least maintained on this entire list — the last page that changed was a sitemap file in 2010, which makes the site sixteen years old. That is not evidence of anything about the work, but it does mean the site will tell you almost nothing current, and two published phone numbers are the practical way in.

Where they work

Aventura and northern Miami-Dade, with published numbers in the 954 area, which is Broward — so the working area straddles the county line. They publish no separate pages for individual towns, so there is no documented service area — Aventura, Hallandale, Hollywood, Sunny Isles and the north Miami-Dade and south Broward coast is the sensible reading, and anything further worth confirming by phone. They publish no opening hours. The most recent activity on the site shows in December, so the business is trading even though the website is not.

What the record shows

Google has them at 3.3 from 22 reviews, which is more than a point and a fifth below the 4.52 Florida average — the largest gap on this list. Twenty-two reviews is not the hundreds that make a score unarguable, but it is well past the point where two or three bad experiences could explain it, so the number is a real signal and we are not going to soften it. Beyond the number, though, this is a profile where we have to be honest about how little the reviews actually tell you. No praise theme and no complaint theme reaches our reporting floor — praise needs three customers naming the same thing, complaints need two, and nothing here cleared either. So there is no recurring strength we can point to and no recurring fault we can warn you about. What is there is thin in a way worth knowing: the positive reviews carry almost no detail, and one of the five-star reviews is from somebody who delivers construction materials to them rather than from a customer who bought a pool. Two of the negative accounts concern the same thing, which is the conduct of the business owner in dealing with people — both describe rudeness and impatience rather than anything about a pool. That is two reviewers on the same subject, so it is fair to report, and it is what the low rating appears to be made of. The practical reading: an eighteen-year license and a real trading history, set against a below-average score built mostly on how people were dealt with rather than on defective pools. If you approach them, read the low-star reviews on their listing yourself first, and treat the first phone call as part of the assessment.

Questions homeowners ask

Answered from this record — not by the business.

What do the reviews actually say?

Google has them at 3.3 from 22 reviews, more than a point below the 4.52 Florida average — the largest gap here. Being straight about the limits: no praise or complaint theme reaches our reporting floor, so there is no recurring strength or fault we can state. Two negative accounts do concern the same thing, which is the owner's manner in dealing with people rather than anything about a pool.

Should the 3.3 rating put me off?

It should make you cautious and do your own reading first. Twenty-two reviews is enough that the score is unlikely to be bad luck. But what it appears to be made of is how people were dealt with, not defective pools — which is a different risk, and one you can assess yourself on a phone call before spending anything.

How reliable are the positive reviews?

Thinner than the count suggests. They carry almost no detail, and one of the five-star reviews is from someone who delivers construction materials to the company rather than from a customer who bought a pool. On a sample of twenty-two that matters, and it is why no praise theme could be reported.

How long have they been licensed?

Their license, CPC1457712, was issued in June 2008 and is current — eighteen years, and the strongest fact on this page. Their domain dates from 2005.

Why does their website look so old?

Because it is — the last page that changed was a sitemap file in 2010, which makes it sixteen years old and the least maintained site on this list. That says nothing about the work, but it does mean the site will tell you nothing current. They publish two phone numbers and no opening hours, so phoning is the way in.
