The best and the worst from each platform. Both, always.
Due to weather and problems with our site, Fain and his whole crew did a remarkable job! Our pool is magnificent, this company is professional and knows their craft, we will highly recommend! God bless them all!
DO NOT HIRE HIM. Non-communicative, unprofessional, and uses convicts. One convict showed up late and complained that "I live way over in Panama City; I got court tomorrow", when we pointed out that the grout and tile work was chipping- pieces are still falling off into the pool. We are going to have to hire someone else to correct it and send Fain the bill. Fain would take days to call back and he has yet to call us back after he collected his last check.
Fain and his crew are amazing. Our pool build went smoothly, on schedule, and on budget. If there is a problem with anything or we have questions, he responds quickly. Best build experience I've ever had. I would highly recommend Fain and his team.
Came highly recommended, had several meetings to work out the details of a pool remodel but then he did not show up to do the work and has ignored all phone calls and texts. We hope he is OK but it is hard to understand why there has been zero response for several weeks now.
Best pool and spa builder in our area. Very solid work, very knowledgeable about his work. Fain was a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend him and his guys!
Mr. Fain agreed to come to my house to give me a price on a concrete pool in my backyard; he did show up and never respond to my messages, text, and calls; after that, he blamed me and didn't take responsibility for Tardiness and unresponsive and unprofessional behavior.

Fain Builders of Tallahassee: Florida licensed since 2008, 3.9 on Google from 22 reviews.
Fain Builders works out of Buck Point Road in Tallahassee and has held Florida contractor license CPC1457760 since August 2008. Eighteen years of unbroken certification is a longer record than most builders on this list can show, and it is the strongest thing the public record says about them. Their own headline claims Tallahassee and nothing wider.
New pool construction, outdoor living work, and pool servicing. When a build goes well here, the reviews describing it are emphatic: one customer records a pool finished on schedule and on budget with questions answered quickly, and calls it the best build experience they had ever had. Another describes a build pushed through bad weather and problems with the site itself and still rates the result highly. That is a real capability, and it is worth stating plainly before the rest.
Tallahassee. The licensed address, the Google listing and their own headlines all point at the one city, and there are no pages for surrounding towns, so treat anywhere further out as a question to ask rather than an assumption to make. One practical note: their website still carries a 2015 copyright and publishes no sitemap, so it is not a current picture of the business. The business itself is active — the most recent customer review landed in August 2026.
Google has them at 3.9 from 22 reviews. That is below the 4.52 average across Florida's builders, and the reason is specific rather than general. Five separate customers, writing between 2020 and 2026, describe the same failure: calls, texts and messages going unanswered. Two of those five say work was agreed and then simply did not begin — one after several planning meetings for a remodel. Two more describe tile or grout coming away from the pool after the build, with no response to requests to come back and look at it. Five customers out of twenty-two raising one issue is better than one in five, and across six years it is a pattern rather than a bad month. Set against that, the builds that went well went genuinely well. The sensible reading is that the work can be good and the following-up is the risk. If you deal with them, get the schedule and the scope in writing with dates against them, keep payments behind completed work rather than ahead of it, and assume you will have to chase. Ask directly what happens if something needs putting right after handover, because that is the exact point where these accounts break down.

Yes. Florida license CPC1457760 has been held since August 2008 and shows current.
They split. The good ones are strong: a pool delivered on schedule and on budget, questions answered quickly, a build completed despite weather and site problems. The bad ones are consistent with each other. Five customers writing between 2020 and 2026 describe calls, texts and messages going unanswered, two of them after work had been agreed. Two describe tile or grout coming away afterwards with no response to requests to fix it. At 3.9 from 22 reviews, that sits below the 4.52 Florida average.
Communication, on the evidence. The complaints are not about capability — several finished pools are described warmly — they are about becoming unreachable, before work starts or after it finishes. Put the scope and the schedule in writing with dates, keep payment behind completed work, and agree in advance what happens if something needs correcting after handover.
Tallahassee. Their licensed address, their Google listing and their own headline all name the one city, and they publish no pages for anywhere else, so anything further afield is worth a direct phone call.
Yes. Their website has not been updated in years and still shows a 2015 copyright, but customer reviews continue to arrive, the most recent in August 2026. A neglected website here is not a sign of a closed business.
Outdoor living work and pool servicing alongside new construction. Neither has a page of its own on their site, so ask how much of each they actually take on.
