What an amazing experience!! From the first on site meeting to fill day, Ryan, Matt, Andrew, Megan and Nathan were all wonderful to work with! What stood out most was the honesty and transparency—they set clear expectations early on and followed through on every promise. Our project was completed right on budget with no surprises, which is rare these days. Even more impressive, everything stayed on schedule, with no timeline issues or delays (40 days from dig day to fill day and that included weekends). Each phase moved along exactly as planned, and we were kept informed every step of the way. Their attention to detail truly shows in the final result. From the layout and finishes to the small touches that make the pool area feel polished and complete, Salvo Pools’ workmanship is top-notch and you can tell they take pride in what they do. Communication was excellent throughout the entire process. Any questions we had were answered quickly, and updates were consistent and clear, which made the whole experience stress-free. Even 4 months after completion, they are still available when we have random “new pool owner questions”! We highly recommend Salvo Pools if you are looking for a team that delivers high-quality work, stays on budget and on time, and treats you with honesty and respect! Our backyard has been completely transformed, and we’re thrilled with the results. We couldn’t be happier with our project and the entire experience from start to finish!

They replaced my pool liner in May 2023, and left stones and bumps throughout the under surface of the pool liner. I cannot use an automated pool cleaner for fear of damage to the liner. The front office was great, but actually installation was terrible.

We are very thankful to Salvo pools for making our dreams of a pool a reality. Our pool turned out to be better than we ever imagined. Our pool is a 16 by 34 rectangle with a tanning shelf, deep water bench, and wide steps cut into the paver deck. 8 feet in deep end. About 24,000 gallons, salt water chlorinated, heated by the sun and uncovered. I would like to emphasize that Salvo was quite different from the other pool companies we consulted. Their evaluation process was far more detailed and involved multiple visits. The result was a proposal that reflected all that we wanted. We thank Seth Garrett and Nathan Pugh for this initial process to get us to contract signing in good shape. We can’t say enough for Nathan‘s practiced eye in setting the site for the actual pool, considering the elevation and drainage, and the two large oak trees that had to be considered. The way the pool lies on the property is simply perfect, and is something we did not think was possible. The pool construction went according to plan, quicker than we imagined. It took three months from initial dig until the pool was filled with water, and that included time for Christmas and New Year’s break. The teams of subcontractors handling the specialized work were all highly skilled and considerate of us and our property. We want to thank especially Matt Dillard, our project manager, and Andrew Phillips for their help with construction. In addition, Salvo was able to do a special thing for us: take a 150 year old corn grinding millstone, a family heirloom, and set it in a lovely spot in our pool deck. Finally, we think Ryan Salvo, the owner, for personally answering our questions, and for his Pool School, which left us novices with enough knowledge to make a go of it. In short, we highly recommend Salvo Pools. They have done something truly beautiful for us and our family.

Salvo replacement liner, new steps for inground pool with sand underneath the liner. gave us the run around for 2 months after we said we needed done before an actual date.when they finally showed up they rushed putting everything in and without packing the sand down they just tralled it. needless to say by the weekend we start to get crater's along the sidewall on the bottom. they wouldn't return phone calls or emails. there is more things wrong after the put in the steps the flow of water going through jets have declined. never use them again

Excellent work from start to finish! We could not be more happy with the pool that Salvo built for us at our beach house. They transformed a completely wasted space behind our house into a backyard oasis. That sounds a bit cliché but there is no other way to describe it. They really made a dream that we had for many years come true for us. Being beachfront came with its own set of challenges from a design and permitting perspective, but Salvo navigated that maze of headaches and kept us on track. Their experience in the overall design – pool and landscape - was a huge help. We had an idea of what we wanted but their vision and suggestions made for a much better finished product than we could have imagined. All phases of the construction were completed on schedule and with very high-quality work and attention to detail. Watching the various tradesmen do their jobs was confidence inspiring as they were clearly experts. The Salvo client portal was a very useful tool as we could keep up with the project schedule, and all activity as it related to the project online. That didn’t seem like a big deal when they told us about it during the initial meetings but over the course of the build it was a huge help in knowing where things stood and what the next steps would be and when, payment schedules etc. We have been using the pool for about 2 months now since it was completed, and it is absolutely perfect. They truly did an amazing job. We can’t say enough good things about working with Salvo we highly recommend them. A big thank you to Ryan, Seth, Matt, Nathan and all of the Salvo crew!

I hired Salvo Pools to build the pool I wanted, and they delivered exactly what I asked for. The pool is beautiful and we are completely happy with it. The only reason I have for not rating this 5 stars are some of the difficulties with project management, communication, and supervision of subcontractors along the way. I would absolutely recommend this company for any custom pool project you are dreaming about.

About Salvo Pools

Learn everything about Salvo Pools of Tallahassee — their reviews, license CPC1458987, standing, and what they actually build! Only at FloridaPoolz.

Who they are

Salvo Pools works from Mahan Drive in Tallahassee, Leon County, on Florida pool contractor license CPC1458987 — current since April 2017. Their domain dates from 2013 and the site has been archived since 2015. They build new pools and handle renovation, repair, servicing, spas, water features and outdoor living. They describe themselves as third-generation and family-owned; neither is something published anywhere that could confirm it, so read both as the company's own account. The license is the checkable part.

What the reviews say

Google has them at 4.5 from 55 reviews — within two hundredths of the Florida average of 4.52 across the 346 builders on this directory. Squarely typical, on a sample big enough to trust.

The praise is heavily about the building itself: nine reviewers name the quality of the work, seven their professionalism, four say the job kept to schedule and three name communication. The fullest account describes a sixteen-by-thirty-four rectangle that came out better than the customer had pictured.

Both critical reviews are about the same kind of job, and it is not new construction. One describes a replacement pool liner fitted in 2023 with stones and bumps left under the surface, to the point the owner will not risk an automatic cleaner on it. The other describes a liner and new steps with sand underneath, and two months of being given the run-around against a date that had been agreed. Two customers, one subject: vinyl liner replacement. Nothing on the record suggests the same problem in their new-build work, and the praise is concentrated there.

What they build

New pool construction, renovation, repair, routine servicing, spas and hot tubs, water features and outdoor living. 8 project photographs are published, which is fewer than most firms on this list show — ask to see more before deciding, since eight pictures is a thin basis for judging a builder.

Before you sign

If the job is a liner replacement, this is where to be careful: get the base preparation written into the contract — what goes under the liner, how it is levelled, and what happens if stones or bumps show through afterwards. Both complaints on record are about exactly that. Get the completion date in writing with a consequence attached, since the second complaint is about a date that slipped by two months. For a new build the record is much stronger, but ask to see more than the eight photographs on the site. The license is real; ask separately for the insurance certificate.

Questions homeowners ask

Answered from this record — not by the business.

Is Salvo Pools licensed in Florida?

Yes. Florida pool contractor license CPC1458987 has been current since April 2017. Ask separately for the insurance certificate — a license is not insurance and Florida publishes nothing that would confirm cover.

How does their rating compare with other Florida builders?

4.5 from 55 Google reviews against a Florida average of 4.52 across the 346 builders on this directory. That is within two hundredths of the middle — typical, on a sample large enough to mean it.

What do the critical reviews say?

Both concern vinyl liner replacement rather than new pools. One describes stones and bumps left under a liner fitted in 2023, bad enough that the owner will not use an automatic cleaner. The other describes a liner and steps job that ran two months past an agreed date. Two customers on one subject is a pattern worth guarding against in the contract.

What are they best at, on the record?

New construction. Nine reviewers name the quality of the build, seven professionalism, four keeping to schedule and three communication — and none of the complaints concerns a new pool.

Why are there so few photographs?

They publish 8, which is well below what most firms on this list show. It is not evidence of anything, but eight pictures is a thin basis for judging a builder, so ask to see more.
