Brad just finished our backyard makeover at our house and we are so in love with the project. They achieved our goal in record time and were so accommodating to our requests. We would highly recommend using Firethorn for your next pool or landscaping project. Brad was one of the best contractors we have used since moving to Florida hands down!!!!

We had a mixed experience with this company. The quality of the plant installation itself was great. They did a really nice job, and we were happy with the final result. However, the communication throughout the process was extremely disappointing. From the initial outreach onward, it was very difficult to get a response. Calls and texts, sent professionally and respectfully, always went unanswered leading to a very stressful experience for my husband who was trying to surprise me for my birthday. When we did finally hear back, there was no acknowledgment or apology for the delay, which felt frustrating as a customer. Good communication is a basic part of customer service, and unfortunately that piece was lacking here. Because of that, when we recently need to have our plants redone after the winter freeze, we are choosing not to use them again. It’s unfortunate, because the quality of their work is strong, but without reliable communication, it’s hard to continue doing business. There’s too much competition out there to work with a company that doesn’t care about its customers. Not answering a customer immediately? That’s fine, but never? That’s unprofessional.

We just had a pool/deck/screen recently completed by Brad at Firethorn Outdoor Living. Can't say enough great things about the team and the process! From start to finish was just 30 days! I think the pictures speak for themselves but wanted to focus my rave on something else. Brad was so easy to communicate with throughout the whole process. Not only that but he gave very clear timelines and expectations. It was like clockwork! What he said was planned would happen on those days (even with weather/holidays/unexpected delays). He said once the build starts they want to complete it in 4-5 week and it took just 30 days! Everyone I know was telling me that 4-5 months is the more realistic timeline but somehow they did it in a month. If you're looking for a pool or landscape work definitely check out Firethorn Outdoor Living!

Poor experience overall. Their AI system didn’t pass along my info correctly, and when they finally called back, the number showed up as spam. When I spoke to someone about landscaping and lighting, they were rude and basically said they didn’t want my business. Very unprofessional.

Firethorn has transformed my whole yard. New driveway, new pool and patio. New sod and a putting green/bocce/ cornhole court. Amazing work, prompt, great communication

About Firethorn Landscape

Firethorn of Clermont, Lake County: Florida pool license CPC1457151 held since 2005, pool building alongside landscape design, and 24 projects on show.

Who they are

Firethorn trades as an outdoor living company out of Clermont, from Louisa Court in Lake County west of Orlando, and the name understates what they are licensed for: Florida holds certified pool contractor license CPC1457151 for them, on record since December 2005 and current, with renewal due in 2028 rather than this year — their own date rather than Florida's shared calendar. Twenty years on a pool license is a long record. The website is much newer, registered in June 2024, so the company has been building for far longer than its current site suggests. They say licensed and insured: the license half is confirmed, the insurance half is not something any Florida register publishes, so ask for the certificate.

What they build

Five service lines: new pool construction, renovation, spas and hot tubs, screen enclosures and outdoor living. Landscape design sits alongside the pool work on their site, which for a company with this name is what you would expect and is worth knowing — if you want the pool, the deck, the enclosure and the planting handled by one contractor, that combination is genuinely useful and uncommon. Twenty-four finished projects are on show, the strongest thing on the site and easily the best way to judge them.

Where they work

Clermont is the base and the licensed address is there, in Lake County on the western edge of the Orlando metro. They publish no pages for individual towns, so their range is a question to ask — Clermont, Winter Garden, Groveland and west Orlando are the reasonable assumption. One local number and one email address are published, and the office keeps weekday hours, 8am until 5pm, closed at weekends.

What the record shows

Six people have reviewed them on Google, averaging 4.0. Six reviews cannot support a comparison with the 4.52 Florida average and it would mislead you to present it as one — on six reviews a single dissatisfied customer moves the number by most of a point. No theme recurred either: nothing was praised by three separate customers and nothing complained about by two, so there is no pattern in either direction to report. That is the gap on this profile, and it sits oddly beside a pool license held continuously since 2005: twenty years of work with almost none of it reviewed online. The likeliest explanation is a business built on referral that only recently started marketing, which the 2024 website supports. Judge them on the license, the twenty-four projects and a conversation, and ask for references going back several years — with a record this long there should be plenty.

Questions homeowners ask

Answered from this record — not by the business.

Is Firethorn licensed to build pools?

Yes, and for a long time. Florida certified pool contractor license CPC1457151 is on record and shows current, held since December 2005 — twenty years. Renewal is due in 2028, which is their own date rather than the statewide one most Florida pool licenses share. They also say insured; insurance is not shown by any Florida register, so ask for a certificate.

Are they a landscaper or a pool builder?

Both, and the license is the pool one. Their site covers new pool construction, renovation, spas and hot tubs, screen enclosures and outdoor living, with landscape design alongside. For a job that involves the pool, the deck, the enclosure and the planting, having one contractor across all of it is a real advantage — ask how much of each they do in-house.

How good are their reviews, really?

There are six, averaging 4.0, and that is not enough to judge by. On six reviews one unhappy customer shifts the average by most of a point, so comparing it with the 4.52 Florida average would mislead you. No theme recurred in either direction. Treat the reputation as largely unwritten rather than as good or bad.

Why so few reviews for a company licensed since 2005?

Most likely because they worked on referral and only recently started marketing — the current website dates from 2024. It is worth asking directly, and worth asking for references from jobs several years old, which a company with this length of record should be able to provide easily.

When can I reach them, and can I see their work?

Monday to Friday, 8am until 5pm, on one local number and one email address. Twenty-four finished projects are on the site, which is the most useful thing on it.
