Three weeks and three days. From start to finish. From the day we signed the contract to the day the awesome Pool Doctor of Brevard team drove away after finishing our pool resurfacing job, it was three weeks and three days. Amazing! We had been waiting for several months for a different company to get our job on their schedule and, even though we had paid a deposit to them, they could never tell us when they could do our job. After finally cancelling our contract with that other company, we searched around for another company and found the Pool Doctor of Brevard website. Doug met with us soon after and, as we sat across from Doug in our dining room, he was both professional and compassionate and he assured us he had a plan to help us deal with this destroyed pool. Doug presented to us an excellent competitive quote that made sense based on his experience resurfacing pools in Brevard County for over 50 years. He did not try to oversell us but rather offered recommendations that worked best for our particular pool. We decided immediately to sign the contract and asked Doug when he thought he might be able to start the job. He said "On Monday" which was just two days later! Again, amazing! We handled some paperwork via email with Diane, the other half of this excellent husband-wife team that owns and manages the Pool Doctor, and she had all of the county related paperwork handled within a couple of hours that same day. Two days later, the first of several amazing teams of Pool Doctor employees showed up and began tackling our destroyed pool, one dirty messy task at a time. Doug had shared with us at that first consultation that all of his team members are employees, not sub-contractors, and he said that made all the difference to the process that Pool Doctor follows to handle as many resurfacing jobs that they do. Every Pool Doctor employee and team of employees we met and dealt with were outstanding, and it was clear from the start that they worked in unison on their assigned specialty task, and enjoyed working with each other. Even in the atrocious summer heat they had to deal with this year, they were all positive, professional, patient, friendly, and focused. It turned out that we had some additional issues that needed to be resolved beyond the resurfacing work: an old pool pump valve that needed replacing so our new pool pump would work, and then a skimmer line that turned out to be in a crazy collapsed state, something the Pool Doctor employees who dealt with that task had never seen in the decades of their work. They came up with a creative and cost-effective way to deal with our skimmer line that did not require breaking up our concrete pool deck, and we are so appreciative. Only employees with the combined decades of experience doing pool related work could have come up with that solution. I had written a prior review, which somehow went missing, but I am glad I am able to provide this updated review so I can add some of the newest photos showing the gorgeous sandy beach colored pool deck, in a color that Doug recommended to go with the lovely blue mosaic waterline tile and the Blue Sky coating. Our pool was already looking its age when we bought this house back in 2006, and over the years, it continued to degrade, and Hurricane Irma dealt the final blow. We had just been keeping it algae free, and no one had gone swimming in the pool for years. Our pool had not been anything but a burden. Now, we cannot believe how gorgeous our swimming pool is today. We are enjoying sitting out on the pool deck and just gazing at the mesmerizing crystal blue water as it dances around and sparkles. My husband is now swimming in it every day. Before Pool Doctor of Brevard rescued us from what was a terribly stressful situation, I had no appreciation for swimming pools at all. Now, even though we hope to sell in the next year, I feel great that we get to enjoy the sheer beauty of this pool for awhile and that a future owner will have the pleasure of enjoying it someday, too. Thanks so much!
Good crew….However owner Will not return calls if you have any issues or concerns once they get paid.
We had an older pool that was in need of serious help. We met with so many different pool companies for our pool to be resurfaced. Some quotes were really high and didn’t make any sense while others were more reasonable but they wanted us to wait for months before they could get to us. We met with Doug and Diane and they were very knowledgeable and made us feel confident with our pool in their hands. They did the pool resurfacing, our skimmer and patched the cracks in the deck. The price was more than reasonable especially considering we wanted it done right in the middle of peak season. Throughout the process they kept us updated and moved the project forward . The techs that came to do the work were wonderful and very friendly. They walked us through the process and what we would expect next. In the end Doug, Diane and the pool doctor team exceeded our expectations. We absolutely love our new pool. And recommend this company to anyone in Brevard. You will 100% be happy with the service they provide.
We knew our pool needed a full renovation—skimmers, resurfacing, tile, deck coating, deck drains. It was a big job, and we wanted it done right. I spoke with seven different companies. Pool Doctor of Brevard stood out immediately—they were the first to respond, the first to visit the site, and the first to provide a clear, detailed estimate. They were also the only company to include every single item we’d discussed. It made me wonder if the others were really listening. When I finally sat down to compare estimates, theirs looked like the highest—until I realized the others had all left significant, expensive things out. I started following up to clarify the gaps, but it quickly became clear the final cost elsewhere would match—or exceed—Pool Doctor’s. Once the project got underway, their crew moved fast and worked with precision. Every part of the process was handled with care, from start to finish. Now we’ve got a gorgeous, fully updated pool that looks and feels brand new. Couldn’t be happier with the results—and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Pool Doctor of Brevard in Melbourne: 187 reviews below the field, and two warranties that disagree. FloridaPoolz.
Pool Doctor of Brevard works out of Melbourne on the space coast, holding Florida residential pool license RP0025170, which runs to August 2027. The license number itself is an old one — the low sequence marks it as long-established — and their domain dates to 2011. They describe themselves as family owned and licensed and insured; the license is verifiable, the other two are not on any public record.
New pool construction, renovation, repair and servicing, spas and outdoor living work, with commercial pools alongside residential. Their spa addition page was revised in March 2026. The license class is residential, so confirm it covers your job if it is commercial or structural. No separate area pages are published, so Melbourne and the surrounding Brevard coast is the working assumption.
4.0 from 187 Google reviews, against a Florida pool builder average of 4.52. Half a point below the field on 187 accounts is a settled pattern rather than a rough patch. Against that, seven customers praised professionalism independently and four their keeping to schedule, and no complaint theme was raised by two or more people — so the shortfall comes from spread across many individual experiences rather than one repeated fault.
Their site advertises both a lifetime warranty and a ten-year warranty in different places, and those two cannot both be the whole story. Ask for the actual document, what it covers, what voids it and which figure applies to your job — an inconsistency in writing is worth resolving before signing, not after. Beyond that, with no single recurring complaint the individual reviews are where the useful detail is, so read the one and two star accounts before deciding.
