From the very first consultation with Jim, all the way through the construction process with Taite and the entire Thompson Pools & Spas team, our experience has been nothing short of exceptional. Their professionalism, craftsmanship, and most importantly their outstanding communication made our pool build an enjoyable, stress-free journey. Thompson didn’t just build us a pool, they helped us bring a dream to life. We wanted a backyard oasis where our children, our family, and our friends could gather, relax, and create lasting memories. They delivered exactly that and more. Our backyard has become a place where we can escape, unwind, and enjoy some of life’s best moments together. We’ve recently worked with a number of contractors for various home repairs and remodels, and Thompson Pools & Spas stands out as one of the absolute best. Their customer service consistently exceeded our expectations, and their commitment to quality was evident every step of the way. We’re so pleased with our experience that we’ve already recommended Thompson to several friends for their future pool builds and we would gladly recommend them to countless others. We are truly grateful for the beautiful space they helped create and for the memories our family will enjoy for years to come. Thank you, Thompson Pools & Spas, for helping us turn our home into something extraordinary.
Thompson Pools is, hands-down, the best pool company out there. Here's my story: I was very nervous about putting in a pool based on all the horror stories from family, friends and neighbors. Plus our backyard is on a steep hill thus a difficult build. Some pool companies said it was impossible. We interviewed 5 or so companies and Jim was the only person who was confident they could build on this lakefront hill. He was also the only sales person to actually listen to what we wanted. His initial design was exactly what we asked for. Then his ideas and recommendations took this pool to another level. Once construction started I was holding my breath waiting for the trouble to start. It never did. The entire process was very smooth and stress free. Taite was always available and ready to take action on any questions or concerns we had along the way. To my surprise the pool was completed within a few weeks of the original schedule shown on the calendar. Every employee we encountered was knowledgeable and cares about what they are doing. They collectively want you to have a good experience and to love your pool. They have continued to follow up after the pool was completed to ensure we're happy. When we told them we were having our first pool party, they told us to send a message if anything went wrong and they would be on call for us. In no way is this a "take your money and run" company. They clearly care about their reputation and they truly want you to be 100% happy with your pool.
If you are looking to build a new custom pool and/or spa you definitely should meet with Thompson Pools & Spas! They built our dream pool and we have had nothing but compliments and a little envy! Jim Echo, our designer, met with us promptly and had the initial 3D design over to us in just a day or two. He did such a good job listening during our meeting that we only made a few tweaks to the initial design. After signing the contract our back yard went from grass to the completed shell in just 8 or 9 working days. IMPRESSIVE. Taite, the project manager, did a great job keeping us in the loop with every aspect of the build. He was always very responsive and answered any questions very promptly. I had the pleasure of meeting a few of the different crews and they were fantastic - Thanks to Kayle & Adam who did the plumbing; the kids love the bubblers and deck jets. Randy and John, the glass tile work on the raised spa is sick! Sergio, the travertine deck looks amazing! Parker, thanks for everything you did setting up all the pool automation and teaching us how to use it. Hank, you have put together a great team that you should be proud of. Thank you for everything!

Thompson Pools & Spas of Winter Garden: Florida licensed since 1998, 4.8 on Google from 37 reviews, praised for professionalism.
Thompson Pools & Spas has held Florida contractor license CPC056971 since January 1998 — twenty-eight years, and one of the oldest licenses on this list. That is the single most useful fact about them: a pool license held continuously for that long means a business that has come through several building cycles rather than one that arrived with the last boom. Their license is registered in Oakland and they trade from Plant Street in Winter Garden, the next town over, so you will see both names attached to them.
New pool construction, spas, water features, outdoor living work, and pool servicing. They describe themselves as family-owned; ownership structure is not something Florida's public record settles, so that is their own account. The reviews are notably consistent about the same three things — that the crews are professional, that the build itself is well made, and that they tell you what is happening — which is a better sign than scattered praise.
The Winter Garden and Oakland side of Orange County, west of Orlando. They publish no separate pages for surrounding towns, so there is no documented service area to point at — worth asking directly how far east into Orlando or west into Lake County they will go. Their website is genuinely maintained rather than left standing: pages were updated within the last week.
Google has them at 4.8 from 37 reviews, above the 4.52 average across Florida's builders. Thirty-seven reviews is a modest count for a business of this age, and that is worth reading correctly rather than as a warning: a firm licensed since 1998 did most of its work before homeowners reviewed anything online, so the review count reflects the internet era rather than the company. What the reviews do say is unusually well agreed. Eleven separate customers name their professionalism, eight the quality of the build and eight the communication through the job, with three crediting help on the design. One reviewer who had three pools built at three different homes says this was the best of them. Nothing on the complaint side was raised by two or more customers, so there is no recurring problem to report. Their Yelp page reads 4.7, but from only three reviews, which adds nothing either way to the thirty-seven on Google. The honest summary is a long-established builder with a small but strongly consistent review record and no pattern of complaints — and the one thing you cannot learn from that record is how they handle a job that goes wrong, because none of the published accounts describes one.

Their Florida license, CPC056971, has been held since January 1998 — twenty-eight years, and among the longest records on this list.
Because most of their work predates online reviewing. A company licensed in 1998 built for a decade before homeowners routinely left reviews, so 37 reviews measures the recent era rather than the business. Read the 4.8 average and the consistency of it, not the count.
Google sits at 4.8 across 37 reviews, above the 4.52 Florida average. Eleven customers name their professionalism, eight the build quality, eight the communication and three the design help. No complaint was raised by two or more separate customers. Their Yelp page reads 4.7 from three reviews, too few to add anything.
Winter Garden and Oakland, on the western side of Orange County. They publish no pages for individual towns, so there is no documented service area — ask directly if you are further out toward Orlando or into Lake County.
Both names are correct. The license is registered in Oakland and the business address is on East Plant Street in Winter Garden, which is the adjoining town.
Yes — servicing sits alongside new construction, spas, water features and outdoor living work.
