July 30 2024 - I just worked with Chris at Dixie Pools on a minor follow up post pool construction at ur new home last summer. Chris was so fantastic to work with - she listened and cared and immediately remedied the minor situation we had. Dixie is an extremely well run Company, from Marty, to Brendan, and Chris - they are truly second to none. If you are looking for a great design, top quality, and world class customer service, then Dixie Pools is right for you. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Dixie Pools designed and built the pool for our new home with Element Homes in 2023. They are SO customer focused and worked with us to build the pool of our dreams. And the follow up from Brendan, Marty, Chris, and EVERYONE HAS BEEN PHENOMINAL. They routinely check back with us to ensure we are happy. Dixie Pools goes way beyond our expectations, and we highly recommend them. Brian S. Dreibelbis

Buying a pool is pretty easy, but the 11-month process of having it built is challenging. I admit there were times that was challenging and frustrating and I think it would be the same with any pool builder however Dixie Pools came through. Our pool looks great and feels great. They did what they said they would do and completed the pool in less than a year which was the goal. Brenden was our sales rep, and he was very professional and though it has been over a year since our pool was completed, he checked in on us and even sent a crew to do a paver repair at no charge. This is a company that has been around a long time and will stick around a long time to ensure your pool is completed on time and you are completely satisfied. Thank you, Brenden and Dixie Pools.

Dixie Pools and Spas was the preferred pool contractor recommended by our new construction home builder. Brenden made the design phase very satisfying, demonstrating patience and creativity by producing numerous iterations in Pool Studio for us to review and ultimately approve. The construction phase was completed ahead of the house completion, with only the usual minor corrections needed. The final product matched our design expectations perfectly. The post-build service phase was expertly managed by Brandon, who was professional, knowledgeable, and true to his word. While we haven’t yet had the pool long enough to comment on their warranty service or the long-term durability, our experience so far has been very positive.

Building a pool is always an ordeal. But we’ve had our pool for 18 mos now and use it all the time. Marty the owner always checked on things and took care of any issues himself with their sub contractors and their awesome do-it-all-man Terry. Marty is a perfectionist. I didn't know much about pools or pool building before we built this one but in retrospect there isn’t much or anything I’d do differently in design except get the railing and autofill up front. As busy as they are, they have also answered questions pr come back to take care of any issues. Dixie came recommended and I don’t hesitate recommending them, Marty and company.

The first 9 - 10 years were good so 2 stars. After that it has been difficult. I had Dixie Pools install our pool shortly after construction of the house was completed, before any neighbors were built besides us. This gave easy access to ensure pool was built correctly. The first 9 years the pool was great. Then it started to settle and this caused stress on pool tile water line, I contacted Dixie Pools regarding the issue and the first time they were quick to respond and repaired the tile, re-caulked and grouted the waterline area of the pool, they also replaced the Pool LED light as the original one had failed. Every 2 years now the cracks in the waterline reappear. I contacted a structural engineer and they said that due to there being multiple pours to build up the side when it was installed that the bound between materials is not lasting and either the pool should be replaced or that continuous repair by re-caulking and re-grouting will be needed. Dixie agreed at the time to continuously re-caulk and re-grout as need, rather the replace the pool under the life time pool shell warranty that they provided at time of build. They said it was their choice as to resolve. The last time, it took possible law suit to get them to do the work. This time, it has been over 3 months and they still have not completed the re-caulking or re-grouting. They have said a van is in the shop for repair, however they have also said it is a simple repair and not special equipment is needed, so I offered to pick up the crew and bring them over to repair if they do not want to drive their own cars. This is now impacting my ability to sell the house, so I may have to resort to finding another pool company to complete the work, however Dixie says if other work on the pool then they will not be able to warranty the work, so my life time warranty will be null and void. I would recommend careful consideration and reading reviews before having a pool built by Dixie Pools.

First I would like to say that our general contractor (Angela, no longer works there due to horrible working conditions)and the individuals who did the work were excellent. My issue is with the owner of the company, Randy. It took almost 2 full years for our outdoor kitchen and expansion of our lanai to be completed. The project went into contract in March of 2021 and was completed in January of 2023. Marty was/is disrespectful when dealing with him directly and is extremely dishonest. He repeatedly told us people would be coming to work on our project and no one every came. He blamed this on people’s mothers being sick/dying. We heard this excuse at least four times. Finally after not hearing from him for 5 months, after he said he would have someone over to complete our punch list items, someone finally came, they were unannounced and we weren’t home. Shockingly we have been receiving weekly phone calls and e-mails looking for final payment since November( again before the project was finished). Of course these calls have come from an office employee not the owner ,Marty. I have never written a complain review before today but I felt compelled to write one today due to this company’s unprofessional behavior. I recommend if you are looking for work to be done in a timely manner and you want to be treated respectfully, you stay away from Dixie pools.

Dixie Pools & Spas, Inc. has operated in the Winter Garden area of Orange County since 1974. Its current Certified Pool/Spa Contractor license, CPC1459669, is DBPR-verified and active under qualifier Luke Alfred Gell, who took over the qualifying role in 2024.

Specialties & Service Area

Permit volume here is the largest in this batch: 671 total permits, concentrated in Lake Nona Central (52), College Park (19), Kirkman South (15), Metro West (14), and Crescent Park (13). Of the permit mix, 202 are categorized specifically as pool construction, alongside 109 sign permits, 64 repair permits, and 52 alteration permits — consistent with a long-running full-service operation that handles signage and renovation work as well as new-build pools, rather than a pure new-build shop. Average permitted project costs in the available data run modest relative to some peers in this batch, mostly in the $10,000–$40,000 range across the permits with recorded values.

What Customers Say

Dixie's review picture depends entirely on where you look: 3.5 stars on Google (42 reviews), a strong 5.0 on HomeAdvisor (11), just 1.4 on Yelp (10), and 3.0 on Facebook (2). Positive reviews describe attentive, named staff who stay in touch well after a pool is finished, including one customer who got a no-charge paver repair more than a year post-completion and another who noted an 11-month build timeline that came in under the company's own one-year goal. The more serious complaint on file comes from a customer roughly a decade into pool ownership, who described recurring waterline tile cracking from foundation settling, a structural engineer's opinion that the pool needed full replacement rather than repeated patching, a warranty disagreement over shell replacement versus repeated re-caulking, and multi-month delays getting a promised repair crew scheduled — a dispute serious enough that the reviewer said it was affecting their ability to sell the home.

Bottom Line

Half a century in business and the cleanest permit-completion record in this batch count for something. So does the 1.4-star Yelp average and a customer's decade-later warranty dispute — ask specifically how Dixie handles structural issues under its lifetime shell warranty before signing.
