July 30 2024 - I just worked with Chris at Dixie Pools on a minor follow up post pool construction at ur new home last summer. Chris was so fantastic to work with - she listened and cared and immediately remedied the minor situation we had. Dixie is an extremely well run Company, from Marty, to Brendan, and Chris - they are truly second to none. If you are looking for a great design, top quality, and world class customer service, then Dixie Pools is right for you. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Dixie Pools designed and built the pool for our new home with Element Homes in 2023. They are SO customer focused and worked with us to build the pool of our dreams. And the follow up from Brendan, Marty, Chris, and EVERYONE HAS BEEN PHENOMINAL. They routinely check back with us to ensure we are happy. Dixie Pools goes way beyond our expectations, and we highly recommend them. Brian S. Dreibelbis

The entire experience working with Dixie has been horrible. The pool construction quality was terrible and it isn't finished after 5 years. They blame the subcontractors instead of taking responsibility for the issues. Almost every step of the project hasld to be redone, parts multiple times. The pool shell was not constructed with the required thickness, was shot in the rain, and the parts that were collapsing were "fixed" using regular concrete instead of being shot properly. The original site manager was signing off work without even coming to the house, so I would get bills for work that wasn't even installed yet. The new manager wasn't any more competent. This company has gone downhill since Marty bought it and my pool plaster issues remain unaddressed.

Dixie Pools and Spas was the preferred pool contractor recommended by our new construction home builder. Brenden made the design phase very satisfying, demonstrating patience and creativity by producing numerous iterations in Pool Studio for us to review and ultimately approve. The construction phase was completed ahead of the house completion, with only the usual minor corrections needed. The final product matched our design expectations perfectly. The post-build service phase was expertly managed by Brandon, who was professional, knowledgeable, and true to his word. While we haven’t yet had the pool long enough to comment on their warranty service or the long-term durability, our experience so far has been very positive.

Built a pool with this company in 2020. Brand new home and pool. Pool started leaking last year, had leak tests performed twice at $400 a pop. A month ago the leaking became more severe as i had to refill the pool every four days. Long story short, and $3000 later: my pools main drains, as well as the drain to the jacuzzi were not installed correctly. Also there is a hole in the plaster work in the jacuzzi. Not only that but the heater and pool equipment had significant leaks. This pool isnt even five years old. And dixie pools would not help me. They said i was out of the one year warranty. Lasty the concrete deck they installed has cracked at several points because they did not score the concrete. And the drainage of rain water pools in one corner so now we have mold growing on the left side. I do not recommend this company to anyone. They did a poor job, arent reachable and when they are they arent helpful

Buying a pool is pretty easy, but the 11-month process of having it built is challenging. I admit there were times that was challenging and frustrating and I think it would be the same with any pool builder however Dixie Pools came through. Our pool looks great and feels great. They did what they said they would do and completed the pool in less than a year which was the goal. Brenden was our sales rep, and he was very professional and though it has been over a year since our pool was completed, he checked in on us and even sent a crew to do a paver repair at no charge. This is a company that has been around a long time and will stick around a long time to ensure your pool is completed on time and you are completely satisfied. Thank you, Brenden and Dixie Pools.

This company is horrible stay away!! I am warning you… my neighbors has been trying to get their pool completed for approximately 3 months… no one has come back in the Providence community in Davenport to clean up or complete the work. They are rude, nasty and disrespectful to my neighbors. They distorted my lawn in the process( see photos) they leave dirty masks and trucks were placed on the grass instead of the street when asked not to do so… they mimicry my neighbors and messed up their sidewalk and to date the work Is not completed. Very unprofessional. I will not call them for my pool installation., Don’t do it!!

About Dixie Pools And Spas, Inc

Dixie Pools & Spas of Winter Garden: trading since the 1990s, 3.4 on Google from 41 reviews — below the Florida average — with two reports of build quality.

Who they are

Dixie Pools & Spas works out of Vineland Road in Winter Garden and is recorded in Windermere, Orange County. Their Florida contractor license, CPC1459669, is current and was issued in August 2021. The business itself is considerably older than that license: the domain has been registered since 1997 and the site was already archived in 1999, which makes this one of the longest-standing web presences on our list. A license issued more recently than the business is common and has innocent explanations, so treat 1997 as the age of the name rather than of the certification.

What they build

New pool construction, renovation of existing pools, spas and hot tubs, water features and outdoor living work. None of the five has a page of its own, so the site groups them rather than setting out what each involves. They publish twenty-four project photographs, which is the most useful thing on the site for judging finished work. That matters less as a slogan than as a signal about how the marketing was written.

Where they work

They publish no pages for individual towns, so there is no documented service area to report — read it as the Winter Garden and Windermere side of Orange County and confirm anything further by phone. Their website is also the part of this profile that looks least tended: the most recently changed page is a gallery dated 2022, though there was other activity as recently as this spring. A four-year-old gallery on a builder's site is worth noticing, because a gallery is the one page a busy builder usually keeps current.

What the record shows

This is the profile on our list where the rating is the problem, and it deserves to be stated plainly rather than softened. Google has them at 3.4 from 41 reviews, more than a full point below the 4.52 Florida average for the builders we hold. Forty-one reviews is enough to mean something — not the hundreds that make a score unarguable, but well past the point where a couple of bad weeks could explain it. Four customers do name their professionalism, and the good reviews are specific: one describes a helpful follow-up visit after the build, another came through an eleven-month construction and still rated them well. Set against that, two separate customers raise the same problem, build quality, and their accounts are concrete rather than vague: a pool leaking within a year of a new build with leak tests paid for twice, and a concrete deck that cracked in several places. One of them reports a job still unfinished after five years, with the blame put on subcontractors. Two reviewers is our floor for reporting a theme and it is the floor for a reason — it is a pattern worth your attention, not a verdict on every job they do. If you are considering them, the questions are specific ones: who carries responsibility when a subcontractor's work fails, what the written warranty actually covers, and what the remedy is if the shell leaks in the first year. Ask for the answers in writing before any deposit.

Questions homeowners ask

Answered from this record — not by the business.

What do the reviews actually say?

Google has them at 3.4 from 41 reviews, more than a point below the 4.52 Florida average. Four customers praise their professionalism and some accounts are warm, including a helpful post-build follow-up. But two separate customers describe build quality failures — a pool leaking within a year and a concrete deck cracking in several places — and one reports a job unfinished after five years. Two reviewers on the same problem is our reporting floor, so treat it as a pattern to ask about rather than a certainty.

Should the 3.4 rating put me off?

It should make you ask harder questions, not walk away automatically. Forty-one reviews is a meaningful sample — enough that the score is unlikely to be bad luck — but it is not the several hundred that would make it beyond argument. The specific issues raised are about build quality and about who takes responsibility when subcontracted work fails. Get the warranty terms and the remedy for a leaking shell in writing before you pay a deposit.

How long have they been trading?

Their domain has been registered since 1997 and the site was archived in 1999, so the name has been around for close to thirty years. The current Florida license, CPC1459669, was only issued in August 2021. A license newer than the business is ordinary and has innocent explanations, so do not read either date as the founding year without asking.

Which areas do they cover?

They publish no pages for individual towns, so there is no documented service area. They are based on Vineland Road in Winter Garden and recorded in Windermere, so the western side of Orange County is the sensible assumption. Anything beyond that is worth a phone call.
