Highly Recommended: Gulf Coast Pool and Spa If you're looking for a fiberglass pool, Gulf Coast Pool and Spa is the company to choose. You work directly with the owners, who give you their personal phone numbers and respond quickly to any questions or concerns. This was my second pool installation, and Gulf Coast far exceeded my previous experience in Texas. I had a gunite pool before, but after seeing the difference, I would never go that route again. The owners clearly explained the pros and cons of each pool type, allowing us to make an informed decision. My 14x30 fiberglass pool was completed in just two weeks, including a few weather delays. The process was incredibly efficient -- they dug the hole on day one and set the fiberglass shell on day two. Every employee is a specialist at their job, and we worked with Tom, Jon, and Aaron, who kept us informed every step of the way. When I noticed the pump wasn't the variable-speed model I wanted, I called the owner and he immediately agreed to upgrade it at no extra charge. This company truly does whatever it takes to make sure their customers are satisfied. They also offer a veterans discount, which is a great added benefit. After installation, they leveled my backyard so well that no additional grading was needed for landscaping. Once the pool was filled with water, they sent a technician out to professionally clean it and provided clear, easy-to-understand instructions on how to maintain it as a saltwater pool. If any issues arise later, they offer expert advice on exactly what to do. I would highly recommend Gulf Coast Pool and Spa to anyone thinking about installing a pool -- regardless of the type. Their service is unmatched. This flows well and keeps the review positive and professional. Would you like any other tweaks?

Well, I contacted this place with their online form weeks ago and they never responded so I stopped in. The only person in the office was on the phone for a long, long time going back-and-forth with someone about why they were going to be closed after Thanksgiving day anyway at some point, I asked her if I could just get a pricing list so I could leave. I’ve never understood a business that would go on and on the phone when there’s a customer inside their store hoping to Purchase products or services. Is a very poor customer service practice. She then told me they didn’t have any availability for pool cleaning so I left. I will not frequent this business and I can’t even imagine they will stay in business too much longer.

If you’re thinking about using gulf coast pools, don’t. Here was my experience: the first person they sent out to measure my pool was new and did not know what they were doing so they had to send a second person a week later to do it correctly. Next, the workers who worked on my pool, used MY outside broom to get the water out and then stole it. Third, there is a huge debit at the very bottom of the pool next to the drain. Fourth, I never received an actual contract or any type of paperwork from these people. As I am waiting for a bill in the mail, I never received one. The date on my bill was March 3, 2023. I missed the email they sent me on May 5, 2023 (2 months later) then in July 2023 they charged me a late fee of $100. They made 5 attempts to contact me (3 emails , 1 phone call that I returned with NO answer, and 1 text). All I asked after paying over $6000 was for you to take off the hundred dollar late fee because of your poor customer services. You and your office staff were very passive aggressive. You guys are terrible at customer service. They are not worth your time.

I had this pool now for about five months and wanted to wait before writing a review. So lets get started. The 1st thing to common ton is Bill who came out to my house and showed me the product, features and benefits of the product. Bill is extremely knowledgeable and rightly so since he used to own the companies for a few decades. BIll was punctual and work with me regarding budget, options, etc etc. He is spot on. Now lets move into scheduling work. I can say scheduling was outstanding also. Please keep in mind that weather plays a factor and I was fortunate enough to have weather work for me. No interruption or pushing the scheduled date. Flawless for me. Moving onto the construction. I was told they would have it built in two weeks and they built in five days. Also keep in mind that this is dependent on accessibility to where the pool i sgoing to be built, laydown area for materials, and if you have enough room to spread to dirt removed from the pool. I had the perfect scenario and did not have to do any roadside work such as having a dump truck on site and removing dirt from site to the truck. I also have a nice slope of my property where drainage works well with no need to well point any drains to get it off the property. I also did not have any trees impacting the construction. So in comes the crew and they killed it! they were awesome. They know what they are doing. I have been in construction for 40 years and know I know a crew. This is a well oiled machine. Now they do subcontract their equipment operations to dig, electrical, and their concrete. These folks are dedicated to this company and do not do any other work. This does result in paying extra opposed to an all inclusive pool company that does not sub contract anything, but you will be hard pressed to find one of them. SInce I brought up pricing, I put this company in mid pack. Not the cheapest but not the most expensive. The start up of the pool with Anne was outstanding. She knows pool chemicals and set up as if she was chemist. She got in, detailed all cleanup with the pools, got the chemicals perfect on the first time and shared a ton of knowledge with me. What an asset to have. One last thing to consider: This company has a full blown service department for anything that can go wrong and they keep the parts on the truck. Best contracting experience I have had in a long long long time.

I had a bad experience with Gulf Coast Pool & Spa. I asked for a firm quote and didn't want any surprises. I stated clearly that I didn't want to be nickeled and dimed. They raised the price on three separate occasions. First, they said I had a sprinkler system and that they would need to hire a sprinkler repair company. Granted, this was the same sprinkler system that was there when they quoted me the price. They ended up saving the contract by saying that I would be responsible for 400 dollars max. They then called while it was raining and asked if I had standing water in my yard. I said yes that there had been rain for the last three days. He said I should add concrete to raise the pool so that rainfall would not drain into the pool. I was upset that he hadn't noticed this while giving me the quote. Afer all, he was proud that he had been in business for 20 years. Well they wanted an extra 1200 dollars to raise the pool. I was furious. My choices were to lose my 2000 dollar deposit, to have a pool installed with rainfall draining into it, or pay gulf coast pool and spa an extra 1200. I ended up negotiating the extra conctrete at 700 dollars. The pool with the enclosure was $44,250 dollars and I thought they would be more professional. They left my yard a disaster. I sent in a written complaint to them and have heard nothing (although the check was cashed right away). I would not recommend Gulf Coast Pool & Spa and I wish I had another company install my pool. Note - None of the pictures they show on the website or in person show the yard tore to pieces with cement scattered throughout. Very Very unprofessional in my opinion. I thought they would grade it and possibly seed it and instead I had big ruts from the heavy equipment and basically a dirt back yard around the pool.

Learn everything about Gulf Coast Pool and Spa — their reviews, license RP0054512, standing, and what they actually build! Only at FloridaPoolz.

Who they are

Gulf Coast Pool and Spa works out of Britt Road in Cantonment, the stretch of Escambia County just north of Pensacola. Three Florida licenses sit behind the company. The oldest is residential pool license RP0054512, current since September 1987; CPC1457757 followed in 2008, and CPC1459591 in 2021. All three are active on the state's register. Their domain has been registered since 1999 and the site was last updated in August 2026, so the company is trading rather than leaving an old page standing. Their own pages describe an award-winning pool and spa company. No award is named there and we found no published record of one, so read that as the company's own description of itself.

What the reviews say

Google and Yelp put them at 4.32 from 57 reviews between them — 4.3 from 48 on Google, 4.4 from 9 on Yelp. Two independent platforms landing within a tenth of a point of each other is worth more than either figure alone. The Florida average across the 346 builders on this directory is 4.52, so Gulf Coast sits about two tenths below the middle. On a sample this size that gap is real but modest: it describes a good builder with some unhappy customers, not a troubled one.

Nine reviewers name their professionalism, six their communication, four the quality of the build, and three say the job kept to its schedule. One customer describes dealing with the owners directly and being handed their personal phone numbers.

The critical accounts are worth reading and they point in different directions. One customer asked for a firm quote, said plainly he did not want surprises, and describes the price rising on three separate occasions. Another had a measuring visit repeated after the first surveyor got it wrong, and describes workers leaving a mess behind them. A third never got an answer to an enquiry form and gave up after calling in. Three complaints, three different subjects, none of them raised twice.

Where they work

They publish their own pages for Cantonment, Gulf Breeze, Milton, Navarre and Pensacola — the Escambia and Santa Rosa stretch of the western panhandle, each page written for its place rather than a name dropped into a shared template. The work runs from new pool construction through repair and routine servicing, into spas and water features. 24 project photographs are published on the site. One reviewer went to them specifically for a fiberglass pool and had it installed as a second pool, having had one built elsewhere before.

Before you sign

Get the quote in writing with its exclusions named. The most detailed complaint on record is about a price that moved three times after the work was agreed, and a fixed written scope is the answer to exactly that. Ask which of the three licenses covers your job — a residential pool license and a commercial pool contractor license permit different work. Ask them to name the award their site mentions. Ask for proof of insurance and read it yourself; a license is not insurance, and Florida publishes nothing that would let anyone confirm cover on your behalf.

Questions homeowners ask

Answered from this record — not by the business.

Is Gulf Coast Pool and Spa licensed in Florida?

Three times over. Residential pool license RP0054512 has been current since September 1987, CPC1457757 since August 2008, and CPC1459591 since March 2021. All three are active. Confirm current licensure and get proof of insurance in writing before you sign anything — a license says nothing about cover.

How do their reviews compare with other Florida builders?

They hold 4.32 from 57 reviews across Google and Yelp, against a Florida average of 4.52 among the 346 builders on this directory. That puts them roughly two tenths below the middle. The two platforms agree to within a tenth of a point of each other, which makes the number more dependable than a single-platform score.

What do the critical reviews actually say?

Three of them, on three different subjects. One describes a quote that rose on three separate occasions after a firm price was asked for. One describes a mismeasured pool that needed a second visit, and workers who left a mess. One describes an enquiry form that went unanswered. No single complaint was raised by two different customers, so none of it reads as a standing problem — the pricing account is the one to guard against in writing.

What do they build?

New pool construction, pool repair, routine pool service, spas and hot tubs, and water features. One reviewer describes them installing a fiberglass pool. There are 24 project photographs on their site.

Which areas do they cover?

They publish pages for Cantonment, Gulf Breeze, Milton, Navarre and Pensacola — the western panhandle across Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. Their office is on Britt Road in Cantonment.
